Do not trust the positive reviews blindly. I read many of them and decided to proceed based on that, but my experience was very disappointing.

I applied for a £25,000 loan and was offered an extremely high interest rate. They wanted around £60,000 back in total, which is shocking, but I still considered it because I needed to consolidate my debts.

I spoke to them several times by phone and was reassured that things looked positive. Because of this, I rejected other offers I had available. Then suddenly they declined the loan after the affordability check.

I had provided my income and details, and even after the proposed repayment I would still have had enough left from my salary to cover the loan. Now I have no loan, no other offers left, and I can see the credit check/impact on Experian.

A complete waste of time and very stressful. For the amount of interest they were charging, I expected a much more transparent and reliable process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you found the process disappointing and stressful.

We appreciate that receiving a decline after initially progressing through an application can be frustrating, particularly when you have been considering your available options. However, all applications are subject to a number of assessments and verification checks throughout the process. An application being discussed or reviewed does not guarantee approval, as the final lending decision can only be made once all required checks have been completed.

As a responsible lender, we have to ensure that any lending decision is made in line with our regulatory obligations and lending criteria. On occasion, information identified during the assessment process means that an application does not meet the criteria required to proceed.

To clarify we do not carry out a hard credit search unless a loan completes. During the application process, only a soft search is undertaken, which may be visible to you but does not affect your credit score or leave the same footprint as a hard credit search.

We understand this will not have been the outcome you were hoping for, and we regret any frustration caused. We value all feedback as it helps us continually review and improve our customer experience.

Really impressive service

Having recently dealt with Norwich Trust and in particular, Ryan Beeson, I was impressed about how easy and efficient this loan was to organise through this company. From the start, all emails were replied to by an actual human and within a 24-hour timeframe – too many organisations send a generic response and usually after a few days, never fully answering the enquiry. All my questions were answered, and explained clearly and succinctly, and I felt that Ryan fully understood my reasons behind the loan and he was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Response time to action the loan was great too and I was kept abreast of timescales by him. Congratulations Norwich Trust; you’ve restored my faith in financial organisations and I would definitely recommend you to other people.

Roxy and Karolus - brilliant customer service

Roxy and Karolus were very knowledgeable and friendly and explained everything in great detail, even answering the questions that I had wanted to ask before I even had the chance to ask them. Their customer service skills are second to none!

They went through everything in great detail and it was a pleasure to work with them both.

I will definitely be recommending Norwich Trust because the whole process was faultless and smooth from start to finish. The main thing I liked was that there was no hard sell. They gave you time to digest everything, and the fact that they do all the legwork to pay off your debts from the funds approved means that it takes the hassle out of doing it yourself. This was a massive relief!

I am incredibly pleased and will use Norwich Trust in the future if I have to.

Thanks for everything and for making the whole process as painless as possible.

Absolutely brilliant service from start…

Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish. Abbey Nichols was amazing throughout and made the whole process feel easy and stress free. Communication was spot on, everything was explained clearly and I was kept updated the full way through.
Really appreciate all the help and support from Abbie. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing help getting back on top of things.

Abbey was great

Abbey was great. After being refused elsewhere for unknown reasons, I was slightly demoralised. But Abbey made things very easy and the service was fast and knowledgeable.

Smooth process from start to end

Excellent service, very knowledgeable non-judgemental consultant who listened and helped with viable solutions. Smooth application process that was quick and easy to follow. Quick to pay out once all the paperwork and checks were completed.
