I am a used car dealer who purchased a vehicle on OpenLane from a franchised dealership on 10/7/26. Today is 10/28/26 and I still didn't receive the vehicle in my lot. Transport company went twice to... Ver más

I would give this company negative stars if it was possible. They call themselves a marketplace to avoid NAAA rules. Bought several vehicles and there were undisclosed issues with every one. Some they... Ver más

Absolute scam artists. They cater to which ever dealer does more business. I sold a truck on here with a freshly rebuilt transmission with less than 100 miles on it. They made me buy it back saying it... Ver más

Can't be bothered to show up for scheduled inspection. Avoid if at all possible.

Selling a car and refusing to prove the state it's in by posting or sending pictures of workstatements. Anonymous employees answering that you first need to buy a classic car before you're allowed to inspect it. Stupidity.
OPENLANE- THE WORST
OPENLANE and District sales manager Eric Carette (a weasel in my opinion) banned a buyer because the seller failed to disclose in the listing- vehicle has no cabin heat, vehicle overheats and vehicle needs towed. After it overheated in just 10 Kms (6 miles) After letting it cool down on the side of the road it was returned to the seller, so they nor Openlane suffered any damages. When I requested the sale just get cancelled, Openlane refused and said the vehicle was drivable! Frickin' morons in my opinion. So in my opinion Openlane and Eric Carette have no morals, ethics, integrity or common sense. BUYERS BEWARE of the tactics at Openlane and the desperation to stick a buyer with a vehicle that had no mechanical disclosures and can't be driven more than 6 miles! In my opinion Openlane is the worst of all the dealer auctions. Just read the reviews from various sources on the web.
Nice service

I've bought over 2000 vehicles in last…
I've bought over 2000 vehicles in last 5 years..they changed there policy to under 6k they wont cover any body damage missed including the frame. Recently bought a colorado truck with all green check marks and anyone that knows colorado trucks have major issues with frames. I get the truck noticed something hanging down without even trying to look and it was the frame pulling apart. I called and they denied the claim saying to bad to sad your fd. This company is a absolute joke . Tyler vansicle claimed there not a auction lmao and its all over there website saying auction .. They make about 200k a year of me alone is the thing and still wont help. Cant get a call back unless they need something its a total scam ..im moving to ACv or just stick with auctions that care and stand behind what is said not yes our professional inspector missed thst and you get screwed. I dont get how this is legal . Everyone needs to team up and start a class action law suite. The inspectors I guarantee from a good source get paid under the table to over look huge issues by dealership. This company is going down and I guarantee I wont stop until they get punished . I dont have 500 million in the bank they will ruin a small business in no time . They get 0 stars . K&K Auto Sales.

I have been a dealer for over 12 years…
I have been a dealer for over 12 years and buying from an open source like Backlots, now Openlane was a great option. However, the last few years have been less than good. They keep adding items that they won't cover, which is a lot now, so please read their arb polices before even thinking of using this platform. They have paid people that inspect the units posted online, it seems that the inspectors don't note issues that Openline won't cover which help to get top dollar for the franchise stores. If you look at the BBB, Openline has a F rating due to not responding to issues. I have bought 100's of units through their site and when there was an issue they would pay me back a portion of the cost to fix it like it was my fault the unit had a problem but now they won't even do that.....Not saying to not use them but know what you are getting into, if you can't afford to eat repairs, don't use this site. I would say I avg around 1 out 3 units had issues not noted.
Openlane code of ethics for dealers…
Openlane code of ethics for dealers stipulates that all known problems with a vehicle must be disclaimed even if it's minor. Purchased a truck and upon leaving the compound it wouldn't shift out of first gear, I'd call that a major disclaimer.
Went to arbitration and they found against me. The seller sold the truck in bad faith. The seller should be reprimanded and fined instead of rewarded for this transaction.
Spoke to the head of western canada around 2 weeks ago now and no response from him. Have sent numerous emails to arbitration and no response from them.
Code of ethics means nothing to this company. They print the word, they just don't follow them. It's all words for convenience.
very bad experience with open lane…
very bad experience with open lane agents
i bougth a vehicle is a pice of trash with no accurate description, and i received a title with a mistake and they do not want to take care of that and fix the title .
Learn from OUR MISTAKE
Learn from OUR MISTAKE - OPENLANE arbitration is a joke. We bought a 2019 RAM Limited Crew. It was described online as great shape by Openlanes "supposedly thorough" inspectors.
Truck gets to dealership, no catalytic converters, manifolds all messed up from whomever stole convertors, and no 02 sensors. Repair ticket is WILD.
We reached out within the timeline. Was confirmed by arb rep that truck was sold to us by mistake with no cats, their mistake. Mgr would call us. He offered us 1k 😑😑😑😑😑
Don't get sucked into "we inspect and back our product," because it's a lie.
Needs thousands of work and they can't even figure out out to send us the 1k 🫠
Sincerely, an honest Independent.
POOR COMPANY THAT DOESNT STAND BEHIND…
POOR COMPANY THAT DOESNT STAND BEHIND THE AS DESCRIBED Guarantee THEY SO PROUDLY POST ON THE SALES SCREEN.
Buyer beware
Buyer beware, green light guaranteed over $6k purchase price is a joke. I bought a 2022 Toyota Corolla from them with a guarantee there were no transmission issues. The car will not shift without taking your foot off of the accelerator. The RPM's just keep climbing. I filed the claim and it took days before they even attempted to contact me. I had called them 4 times to attempt to get up with assigned arbitration rep. After 5 days of reaching out, He tells me I have to drive it 35 miles one way to get the car checked by a franchise dealer or an Aamco. Both want to know if they diagnose the issue will they be allowed to fix it. (I tell them, I have no idea which is not true) because Openlane will not pay but $95/hour minus a $300 deductible to do any allowed work. The diagnostic fees are on you to pay and no Aamco or . No where in the arbitration does it state you have to go to a franchise dealership. I am very small, and am effected by the time and expense of this MADE UP POLICY. There needs o be a class action suit opened against them because of bias and not handling things the same way, They are going to use mileage and year as a feeble stance where they can bounce around and make different decisions for different buyer in the name of determining what pittance they dole out. The truth is they make it as tough on you to collect and their guarantee means nothing. The arbitrator, Abe, told me on a recorded call the inspectors only drive the car up to 30 mph on the lot so when I was buying an auction car from them, I needed to plan on it needing a transmission. In essence the greenlight means nothing, the stand behind sellers who know there is an issue with a no unwind policy. Once you buy it, you are screwed and there is no recourse. I am going to every review site possible to expose their misleading, lying, crooked handling of claims. You are out a $1,000 bucks on every claim no matter what. They reimburse a $95 bucks an hours vs an industry average of $125-$140 an hour, they give you used part reimbursement (I understand), they pay for no seals or fluids, they force (me) to drive 70 miles on a 100 mile max travel before they are off the hook and they charge $300 deductible to fund the arbitrator screwing you. both Manheim and ACV allow for unwinds, so I will never buy from these people again.

Purchased a 21 Yukon that was green lighted as Inspected thoroughly and no issues. We took to GMC Dealer for inspection due to concerns. Dealer found various issues and sent pics showing this was an long ongoing issue. The Arb was declined saying they don't cover Rear Main Seal which they do, then it was because the vehicle had more than the 100 miles based on their arb guide. Very Very dissatisfied. I have not argued nor brought up issues with other vehicles purchased which had issues
I have been a customer with OPENLANE /…
I have been a customer with OPENLANE / BACKLOT FOR ABOUT 5 years and I will be taking my business elsewhere like a lot of my fellow colleagues. Don’t trust there inspection reports they are fabricated, and as far as customer service it’s at a zero and they ach money out of your account for no reason and if you don’t catch it’s gone . I have bought about 1200 cars and sold about 600 in the last 5 years with OPENLANE I know that’s not a huge number but considered a good buyer and seller . I have taking my business to ACV Manheim and other independent auctions and hope other do as well .
OPENLANE IS SCAM AUCTION
OPENLANE IS SCAM AUCTION, DONT TRUT AND DONT BUY ANY CAR FRM THOSE SCAMMERS
Service and loyalty always there
My experience has been excellent the Ottawa team is fantastic thank you guys and thank open lane for making things easy
After this company was sold
After this company was sold, it became a joke. they have vehicle inspectors lying on the reports saying they drive vehicles at a certain high speed which is not truth because when they come to my lot to take pictures at the buybacks. They do not take pictures of parts that are not under their crappy policy like rocker panels or body floor, so you can have that surprise.
That is why ACV is taking over the market, because of platforms like this joking with people sweat.
Warning – Sold me a car with blocked documents, no real help offered
I bought an Opel Astra through Openlane and I can't register it – the registration certificate is flagged as stolen. A criminal case was opened in Romania and the car is now unusable.
After posting a review on Google, they replied publicly saying they take the case seriously. I contacted them privately right away, but they refused to help. Their public reply was just for image – no action behind it.
The company overall is a joke
The company overall is a joke! I sent emails to get issues resolved that were unanswered, customer service is no help! They are rude and incompetent and after reading their reviews the only positive thing I have to say is that they are consistent!!
