Total censorship of Conservative voices…
Total censorship of Conservative voices on the Fox News app. Raging leftists can post any vile thing but when we respond, our message "is not currently available."
Terrible algorithm
They have gotten rid of most of the spam, but they're also getting rid of loads of legitimate comments on Yahoo Finance. I posted a comment talking about how Disney was overvalued, and even if their earnings went back up to 2019 levels which is really unlikely because of all the big movies which came out that year, they would still have a P/E ratio of around 20. OpenWeb's algorithm removed my comment because it supposedly violated Yahoo Finance's Community Guidelines. Maybe it's because I used the term "insanely unlikely", and they didn't like the term "insane", but it's still stupid. Their algorithm is trash, and they don't even bother telling you which guideline they think you violated, or allow you to appeal to a human moderator. The algorithm is worse than YouTube's, because at least the comment YouTube removed could appear hateful at first glance. (I made up a fake anecdote about a certain group of people to prove my point about anecdotes not being real evidence, but I can see why their algorithm would think it violated their policy.) Although, at least OpenWeb tells you which comment was removed.
Selective enforcement of comments
Selective enforcement of comments, arbitrary bans. Power gone mad from people who have no real talent and got bored.
They'll reject a comment with no…
They'll reject a comment with no explanation as to why and then the article being commented on is no longer accessible from that medium.
OpenWeb censorship and political bias on their users
What OpenWeb has been doing for the past 2 years alone is very obvious, easily to be captured through data, and these platforms should be criminal. This platform outright censors anyone and anything that does not serve THEIR rhetoric (provided as a contractual third-party service). This is not conspiracy but has been proven through several trials and data runs on multiple accounts placed all over the world. In short, their censorship is aimed particularly at the conservative profiles and comments at the same time allowing other hateful comments that are more leaning to the left (again we aren't confirming political biases outright but are comparing the inconsistencies). So in other words when they ultimately tally up the user tendencies, on both extremes, what one user is allowed to post and have passed is not equal to what the other is allowed to post and have passed with the same historical profiles i.e. two profiles, each to both extremes, and then intersecting in order prove the outcome. We also found that they were softly moderating in 2022 and JUST SO HAPPENS to ramp up beginning Jan. 1 2024 due to it being an election year so the censorship is even more rampant. Go to Yahoo news and look at every article/comment section and look for yourself.
OpenWeb rates a 0
If you don't agree with what "they believe" they will REJECT your comments.
There should be an option for ZERO stars
Openweb discriminates based on your opinion
Openweb proclaims that it wants conversations to be decent and civil, but in the end, it is not just trying to reign in on what it perceives as inappropriate language, it also discriminates based on people's opinion
Biased
Openweb should be renamed as closed web there is nothing open about the moderators deciding what can & cannot be said...freedom of speech should not be discriminated against unless of course it is offensive to certain 'things" that I understand.
But an honest review about their biased moderators
Should've been allowed
Glitch, Glitch, Glitch
I honestly don't know how this company is still in business, its 2024 and kindergarten could design a less glitchy website, unreal.
Why?
My comment on yahoo was rejected by OpenWeb. The comment was "Why?" No kidding. That was all I said.
Open web silences conservative voices
Open web silences conservative voices. You can post facts about Joe Biden. And make statements that you believe he is more of a racist than Trump, and your comments get rejected.
The left can put all kinds of baseless allegations about Trump and it is published freely. I need to stay off Yahoo when they use such a deceptive moderator.
Banned by OpenWeb
Unfortunately I wasn't given the option of giveing OpenWeb/AOL no stars.
I've been banned from making comments on AOL by OpenWeb and I have no idea why. There was no notification. Their supposedly purpose is "to bring conversations back from social networks to publisher sites". But it's more like their purpose is to silence those they don't agree with.
There's no way to contact OpenWeb and I did call AOL. But, they just said to file this issue on their feedback. I'm sure it went right into the bit bucket.
I am not pro-Trump
I am not pro-Trump, but I am Pro-marijuana legalization. Trump did two things as president that I approve of. He signed the 2018 farm bill, which federally legalized hemp, a variety of cannabis. He also signed the First Step Act, a significant piece of criminal justice reform. Every time I have raised these points on Yahoo! Comments, that Trump signed these two pieces of legislation and, by doing so, has done more for cannabis legalization and criminal justice reform than any modern president, the comment is censored and blocked by OpenWeb. Truthfully, I despise Trump and disagree with most of his policies, but I credit him with these two accomplishments. I did not vote for Trump in either of the elections he ran in and do not plan to this time, but I have had some positive things to say about him regarding these two matters, and almost every time I have said something positive about Trump, it has been blocked by OpenWeb. If I say something positive about Trump in Yahoo! comments, I can be 90% sure the comment will be blocked. I call that censorship.
They need to rename the company "Closed Web."
They need to rename the company "Closed Web." Their latest strategy on Yahoo News is to just reject any comment that triggers any keywords they don't like. Or if we don't name them Closed Web, we could call them Lazy Web, because they don't really do any actual moderation of chat comments. All they do is reject their "trigger words." Lol
The subject was about political parties…
The subject was about political parties and tariffs. I made the following comment "Did we learn nothing about tariffs with Herbert Hoover and the Great Depression." It was immediately rejected. No explanation, no vulgarity, no mention of current political candidates. More and more the AI or whatever they use is shutting down any intelligence discourse
OpenWeb: Nazism
OpenWeb is censorship, plain and simple. Comments of mine on Yahoo too numerous to list, have been rejected. I am one of many; read other reviews here. OpenWeb should be sued into oblivion.
Hey OpenWeb,
Hey OpenWeb,
Please tell me how the below quoted comments violate ANY sort of 'community guidlines' on the Yahoo platform:
"Refer to Arizona Revised Statutes 13-3841 through 13.3870.02 and 18 USC 3182."
"You should look up Arizona law regarding extradidtion before complaing about a "koolaid drinking DA" and precedence. Just to make it easy: 18 USC 3841 and ARS 18-3841 through 12.2870.02 are the relevant Statutes." Please note that 'koolaid drinking...' is a quote from the post being replied to.
"That is what is required under Arizona law. NYS made the mistake of trying to bully their way into getting the suspect in violation of the ARS."
Company is a Failure
There is no rhyme or reason to their censorship. I see terrible posts that attack people in the story and comment on the inaccuracy and I get failed to publish.
Yahoo would be best served by getting rid of this company.
OpenWeb is Way Too Restrictive
I was posting a comment on yahoo about a stay in the hospital I had with Sepsis. I had to divide it into two parts. The initial Comment was as follows:
---Begin Original Comment---
Part 1 / 2
I remember my brush with sepsis all too well. During the COVID lockdown, I was streaming minecraft in a discord server to my friends (I was building the roof to a clinic, ironically) and I felt... wierd. I was a bit dizzy and my stomach didn't feel right. I checked my temperature -- a fever of 100.1. I checked it with another thermometer and it gave me 101.0. I honestly thought I had caught COVID, so I rushed to the hospital to get tested. The nurses looked at me with scrutiny and told me I didn't have the signs of COVID, but took me in back anyway. By then, I was developing a horrible migraine.
Time slipped away from me. I remember becoming dazed and fell asleep after vomiting. I woke up and heard two nurses outside my ER room talking. I remember one of them said, "I am worried about this one here in room XX. I thought she was a hypochondriac at first but then she declined rapidly."
---End Original Comment---
They rejected this comment on the account that it violated guidelines. I don't understand why this comment would be rejected except for the last part, which was simply what I overheard a nurse saying about me.
I attempted a repeal and it was also rejected.
This is not an insult toward anyone, this is a legit account of what happened to me in the hospital. The Moderators at Open Web need to learn to understand the context behind a comment rather than simply rejecting it based on a word they find personally offensive.
