I'd give it a zero stars if I could
I'd give it a zero stars if I could. I'm a regular on several different media outlets that use OpenWeb as their comments platform, and it's the worst I've ever seen. Nazis, Klanners, neo-Confederates, hate groups of all kind, and Russian propaganda trolls are their favored user base, and are allowed to post any racist, bigoted, hateful screed they want, 24/7/365 with near-total impunity, while anyone who speaks out against these Reich-wing trash can expect to be shadow-banned (OW's favorite tactic; apparently they're too stupid to realize that you can tell easily enough.) Basically, all the complaints here from Reich-wing "conservatives" is utter hogwash. Take a look at any place that uses OW and see. Try HuffPost for an example.

Openweb's accounts system is broken and has poor user interface. Don't recommend using it.

They're an Israeli company who silences support for Palestine. I have a screenshot where I mentioned Israel was indirectly the cause of 9/11 which was rejected. But a comment if they're the cause of 911 was approved.
OUTRAGEOUS AND ILL-JUDGED CENSORSHIP
AOL News contained a piece about elderly people being alone and lonely at Christmas, and suggesting ways to help them. A response was posted that included an incomplete telephone number for Re-engage, who help such people. I posted the correct telephone number and my post was rejected. OpenWeb's bots would obviously prefer that elderly people remain lonely - obviously programmed by a very mean-spirited geek.
This is an extremely poor company
This is an extremely poor company. I am not sure if they are censoring posts or just inept at managing their site and comments because, when it fails to work, they do not respond to your questions and open ticket or provide any feedback whatsoever. There is also no explanation as to why error messages occur when trying to log in. If they are censoring, it is based on their own liberal political bias rather than content because my posts were not out of line. Why have comments at all if you are just going to publish those that agree with OpenWeb’s viewpoint? Public discussion forums exist to learn, exchange ideas, and debate important, often controversial, topics—not to force group think in violation of the principles of freedom of speech under our Constitution.
Filthy with spambots
Terrible at active spam detection/policing spamming. And the moderation is flippant and lazy. The policy is to just cancel any account it's robo-moderating flags without alerting the account let alone give any reason. The appeal function is just to give the appearance of an appeal function.
They don't stop hate speech
Openweb are astonishingly bad at their stated mission of curtailing hate speech and harassment. Reporting has no impact regardless of how vile or callous someone behaves. Worse than that, they deliberately make it hard or impossible to send them feedback so they don't have to acknowledge what a bad job they're doing. Comments sections moderated by Openweb are some of the worst I've ever seen on the internet.

Solved all our moderation issues with a full-featured commenting platform for our enthusiast community website.
What used to take up a monumental amount of manual hours for moderators on our payroll has pretty much solved by the OpenWeb platform.
Really happy with the product and the team has been a delight to work with. Highly recommended.
Great solution for commenting
As most other millennials, I consume most of my news and sports news online.
I’ve had several great experiences using OpenWeb’s interface for commenting on articles across a few sites and have yet to have a negative experience. Super easy to use, and great opportunity to connect with other users!

I spend a lot of my time reading about politics and sports online. OpenWeb is my favorite comment engine that i’ve seen so far. The user experience is awesome and offers alot of functionailities that enhance the experience for me! Much better than Disqus and other platforms i’ve seen in the past.
Great experience
OpenWeb’s solution is great, I’ve been using it recently on a few websites that offer it and have had a great experience.
Very easy to use and great UI. Would definitely recommend!

User-friendly Interface
The interface is user-friendly, making it a breeze to interact and be a part of discussions. Kudos to OpenWeb for fostering such an engaging space!
Good
The company's dedication to providing excellent software shines through. Highly recommend.
Great way to connect with others!
I've had really positive experiences using Openweb on tons of different sites. I keep coming back to places where this platform is embedded! Super easy to use.
This company is a new kind of evil.
This space is not big enough for all the problems I have had with OpenWeb. They lie for one thing. They say nothing is personal or "its not you it's us" on Yahoo yet on their own website they openly admit to tracking individuals and preemptively rejecting comments. What is most frustrating is they are driving this MYTH that this only happens to Conservatives and THAT IS NOT TRUE. Both Fox and Daily Wire use these frauds. Plus my comments are crystal clear that I am a staunch LIBERAL yet they reject my comments several times a day. I have emailed them DOZENS of times with things from their own website that contradict what they say on Yahoo, with completely benign comments that they have flat out rejected. Like today they rejected me posting the definition to the word sanctimonious when someone was being just that. How is a definition offensive? I used to get automated replies that they were looking at my message but now I don't even get that. Everything you see in these reviews are true EXCEPT the nonsense about it only happening to Conservatives. That is ridiculous because it happens to me SEVERAL time EACH DAY. In fact I am starting to think that is by design - they WANT for that myth to stick around for whatever reason. Maybe Nadav Shoval is buddies with Trump and Netanyahu. I would love to put together a boycott of everyone who uses these frauds or write their investors (which are listed on their web page) and let them know what the frauds are up to. The reviews about everything they power being slow are spot on too. I really think the one or two positive reviews on here is from OpenWeb itself. Go to their website and you will see what I mean. This company is straight garbage.
Don't know who they are but they…
Don't know who they are but they emailed me. If I don't recognise email addresses I delete without reading.
Avoid OpenWeb if you can
*OpenWeb bogs system memory
* OpenWeb bogs system performance
* OpenWeb makes broadband feel like dial up
* On pages where OpenWeb editing is enabled, it usually requires multiple attempts to edit, or, you have to delete the comment and post it as a new one, but deleting the comment usually takes more than 1 attempt
If you're considering using OpenWeb on your site, visit a busy site like Fox News and try it out on their top stories, you'll see how horrible it is.
OpenWeb may be pervasive, but not sure why, there has to be better performing alternatives.
I was prevented from posting a comment…
I was prevented from posting a comment on the Daily Mail, who now use OpenWeb for their online censorship, because I called a person by their name, which happened to be "Richard Smith".
According to OpenWeb, this name is so offensive that it requires moderation, and the comment was, subsequently, rejected because it, horror of all horror's, stood to offend some member's of the community.
So, if your name happens to be "Richard Smith", you will have to apply to have your name changed by Deed Poll, before OpenWeb recognise your name. In fact, take either name, "Richard" or "Smith", it doesn't matter, if your comment contains either, it will be rejected.
I emailed OpenWeb and asked them what was offensive about the name "Richard Smith", and I got no response.
In fact, OpenWeb now censor a good majority of comments for their content, even when there is nothing offensive in them, which leads to various typo's and misspelling's designed to break their Iron Curtain like profanity filter.
OpenWeb... The software that actively prohibits you from being able to say a single thing openly, because, no matter what you say, it will require moderation... OpenWeb.
Wanna be racist? It's a-ok with OpenWeb
This company moderates the comment sections of various newspapers, etc like NY Post and Yahoo. I use the term "moderate" as loosely as possible. Take one look at any crime article involving a person of color and you will immediately notice the circle jerk of obnoxious, racist commentary. This company is simply awful and no publication should be using them as moderators.
