Palmetto Energy/Solar
Buyer beware!
I found out the hard way that Palmetto is just a shell sales and marketing company now and they told me as much on the phone. I read all of the reviews, saw the CNET article and the “This Old House” write up plus they offered a decent price. They handed me off to Poly Energy, who Palmetto said was a subsidiary, for the site work and installation. In late April 2026 my system stopped producing energy. I tried to contact Poly only to find they had gone out of business. I signed up for Enphase Care as I have an Enphase system. Enphase diagnosed that the problem required a site visit and it would be a month before they had an opening. I took the appointment and reached out to Palmetto for support. To put it very simply Palmetto drug their feet and lied to me multiple times. It took almost a month for them to even attempt to line up a site visit, they lied to me about Poly being a subsidiary, promised to pay my May electric bill but refused to put it in writing and then the ghosted me. I am considering referring Palmetto to the AG of Georgia as they are clearly engaging in bait and switch sales tactics. At the very least they are leaving customers who thought they were doing business with Palmetto high and dry with no support when the installers go out of business.
