A heavy warning to anyone buying from the Cambridge Centre People's Jewelers. They have had my sons watch since Feb. They DO NOT answer the phone and the store doors are closed. I have had every lie and run around as to where his watch is. Four months to fix a link and they don't know where it is ? Disgusting service. Appalling. Call them and see for yourself SPEND YOU MONEY ELSEWHERE. I'm about ready to call the local news to do a story...there's other people missing wedding rings etc too....read the complaints.

It felt a little descriptive

I enjoyed our experience choosing our wedding rings at Bayshore and the staff were very friendly and helpful overall. However, I did feel some pressure with the upselling throughout the process.

What disappointed me most was when we were paying for the rings, an additional warranty charge was automatically added to both rings, totaling approximately $600. In my experience, warranties are typically discussed and offered as an optional add-on with clear consent before being included in the final total.

At no point were we directly asked if we wanted the warranties added, and I found that a bit deceptive and uncomfortable. We likely still would have considered them, but transparency matters — especially with such a significant additional cost.

Overall, we love our rings, but I do think the checkout process could be more upfront and customer-focused.

I bought a ring and the jem fell out 3x and no one will help me

I bought a ring and the jem fell out, replaced it and it fell out again, got something new and within a week the jem fell out again. Now I have called their customer service line and it's been 4 days and I am unable to speak to anyone about my issue. Apparently they like to use ridiculous excuses as to why you are unable to speak to the right people in the company to get answers and solutions to your issues. I have called 2x now and they keep telling me I have to be put in the cue which takes anywhere from 24 - 72 hours to speak to someone. Funny thing is I have already waited 72 hours. So that really makes no real sense. It's called kicking the can down the road so they don't have to admit they sell cheap product. And the customer service agents at their 1 -800 line have no authority to do anything for the customer but put you in the next cue. I am disgusted by their product, the service I received at the store was minimal with no knowledge, customer service at their help desk was useless and I am now going in day 5 to speak to someone about my 3rd damaged item they sold me. Some retail jewelry store. Go somewhere else. This place is terrible. 0 out of 10.

unethical and bad experience

Ordered a watch visiting peoplesjewellers website and spending some time reviewing watches on Mother's day(05/10/2026). Received confirmation for the order via email, after having provided all details including credit card. But surprise, next day (05/11/2026) received another email indicating order is cancelled. Upon calling customer care they simply wouldn't care, indicating inventory issue.
Its very unethical and bad experience, my first and last with peoples jewelers.

Scummy Unethical company

Scummy company. Got a ring at the Eaton Centre location. I was very happy with the ring but the service and company itself is horrible and very unethical. They lied multiple times and kept trying to shove their horrible protection plan down your throat. They had me go through the process of getting their shitty high interest credit card through flexiti for like 15%-20% off and didn’t honour the discount because They lied about the price of the ring claiming it was on sale from originally 2500 down to 1500 and both discounts couldn’t apply. The ring was already over priced at 1500. I tried to get the ring downsized as well from them and they said it would take 3 weeks. The ring was like 3-4 sizes too big and they were trying to act like that’s some insignificant amount of gold they can’t give me back or apply to the cost. Absolutely ridiculous lying thieving company I could not recommend more to avoid doing any business with them.

I have always had a great experience at…

I have always had a great experience at peoples, especially when I deal with the store manager Nahrin Yokohana. I have purchased over the years quite a few items from peoples and every time I go for my check the first timethey make it feel like it’s the first time that I’m there and then I’m not a nuisance or interrupting their business because I have a check. The manager is always so polite so professional and so makes it ready for me to buy more jewellery. I’ve always dealt with Sandra and I will continue to deal with Sandra, but it was nice to feel that that the store manager was just as nice and professional as if I was just dealing with the sales associate. She checked all of my jewellery piece by piece attach my receipts with smiling and laughs and I could never feel so comfortable. My husband will never buy jewellery from any other location except for peoples. We have my engagement ring. Diamond ring is from peoples. My diamond earrings are from peoples and we will continue shopping at peoples not because people have great product just because they have great product and great people. Thank you for all that you do for me to continue business.

Fake gold bracelet

My wife bought a bracelet from Peoples Jewelers in Ottawa during our overseas trip in October 2025. It was supposedly gold and cost CAD$360. It broke in March 2026. On inspecting the break, it was obvious that it was gold plated metal! A rip off of a company and not to be trusted.

Almost scammed by peoples staff / managers.

I ordered a ring online at a sale price with a pick up at Market Mall. I wasn’t able to pick up on their specified date and informed them of this. I received a text shortly after sayings that head office told them to cancel my order that was fully paid for.
They promise to sell it back to me at the price I bought it at. When I went to the store they said I have to buy it at full price or take the warranty on it.
I asked for names - who cancelled it?? I was ready to take this issue to the top. It seemed dishonest to cancel a ring that was fully paid, they were holding it for me to pickup. They had no right to cancel my order. Long story short, the sales lady after texting her Manager (when she told me she can’t contact her manager) re-sold it to me at the sale price. Why the scam / dishonesty? Employees want to purchase it at the sale price? Or discount? I’d like to know. People’s jewelry better do something about this problem.

Poor quality and crappy service!

I bought a pair of lab created diamond hoops online. In less than 9 months two of the diamonds fell out. There was no warranty on the product, that had to be purchased separately. I took the earrings to the Peoples Jewellers at Scarborough Town Centre to repair. After 10 days I received a call that it would cost over $800 to repair! I was stunned, I paid $1156 including tax for the earrings. There is no way that the diamonds should have fallen out in such a short time, also the repair cost is akin to extortion. Peoples Jewellers used to be a quality company with quality products, but no more. I will never patronize Peoples Jewellers again and neither will my extended family! Their products are crap, with scam service!

People's jewelry is garbage

People's jewelry is garbage
You don't even have to actually wear your wedding set for it to fall apart! Since 2021 my wedding set has had stones fall out every 4-5 months. I have not woren it since 2023 for this reason, it has been in its original box. It was inspected 6 months ago at People's and when I went to bring it in today low and behold 2 diamonds are missing.

The customer service is excellent

The customer service is excellent. Rose is the staff member who assisted me many times at the Market Mall Peoples Jewellers in Calgary Alberta. I cannot say enough about Rose. She always takes the time to listen to me when I shop at the store. Rose is patient, kind knowledgable and friendly. I can always count on her to provide me accurate information about jewellery whenever I have questions. I shop specifically at this location because I know the customer service is always amazing. Thank you Rose for always taking the time to help me and provide exceptional customer service.

Yesterday

Yesterday, February 19, 2026, I visited People’s Jewellers at Metrotown and experienced treatment that was completely unacceptable.

The sales associate who assisted me was openly rude, sarcastic, condescending, and despotic in her behavior. From the beginning, her attitude was dismissive and hostile. I also perceived her conduct as discriminatory. When I asked about a Casio G-Shock watch, she initially refused to assist me properly and prioritized other customers. When she eventually approached me, she ordered me not to move and not to touch anything.

As any customer would reasonably expect, I explained that in order to purchase a watch, I need to see it and try it on. When she opened the display case and I picked up the watch to examine it, she responded in an irritated and sarcastic tone: “Be careful. Why are you grabbing it?” This reaction was inappropriate and unprofessional. Trying on a watch before purchasing it is standard practice.

At no point did she demonstrate basic customer service standards. She did not offer assistance in trying on the watch, did not explain the product, and maintained an arrogant and authoritarian tone throughout the interaction. Her body language and facial expressions conveyed clear disdain.

Despite the humiliating and uncomfortable experience, I proceeded with the purchase because I genuinely wanted the watch, not because of the service. The purchase was a Casio GA-900 Master of G on February 19, 2026. Management can easily identify the transaction and the employee involved.

After treating me disrespectfully, she asked for my personal information. Given her behavior, I did not feel comfortable providing it. Additionally, when I attempted to continue browsing, she instructed me not to move, which I found unreasonable and inappropriate.

It is deeply concerning that an employee entrusted with representing your brand demonstrates such unprofessional, rude, and discriminatory behavior. I observed other customers being treated courteously, while my experience was noticeably different.

I formally request that management investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action. This level of conduct damages customer trust and reflects poorly on the company. I am extremely disappointed by this experience.

Block online purchase for no reason.

I used to be a loyal customer of people's jewellery and made lot of purchases online for over a year, all my payment went through with no issue, then, suddenly, People's blocked my online purchase for no reason, I tried every channel to contact them (phone call, text, Whatsapp), but of no solution, customer service cannot help and no reason provided, they just push me to go to store to make purchases instead of using online purchases. I asked why, they said it is for your protection, I went to store to make one purchase so they can verify my credit card I used online but still they continue to block me from making online purchase for no reason and they cannot tell how long the block and how many in-store purchase required to be able to use online purchase again, I tried every way to contact customer service, no one can help and all said nothing they can do. Now, I believe it is indeed a strategy to force customer to go their store to increase their sales as store has higher cost to maintain so they want to redirect customers to their store at the expense of creating inconvenience to customers. It is NOT a protection for customer, rather it is penalizing loyal customers for the benefit of increasing their store sales to cover their cost. Very bad customer experience, no one help and no solution provide, no way to escalate. It should not be called as 'Customer Care', it should be called 'We don't care customer'. Easy solution, just stop shopping with Peoples.

Added signature requirement for low value gift even when requested to NOT do so

I ordered two weeks before Valentines day. I specifically unselected the "require signature" option. The value of the gift is around $150, so typically below threshold for a signature.

They sent it to me WITH a signature requirement.

I then tried to get the company to remove it, but they said they didn't add it. So I called UPS: they said it was added by sender. I went back to Peoples: they confirmed they DID add it, but they aren't able to remove it.

Awful experience and now I have no valentines gift.

I bought a necklace for my wife and it come with a broken chain, they hide it with the tag and she only notices when decided to use it and take the tag out. We just went to the store and they recommended to buy a new one because they would charge too much to fix it.
Avoid this store you will waist your time and money

I bought a diamond tennis bracelet from Peoples. Within 3 week 1 of the diamonds had fallen out. I took it back and they replaced it with same bracelet. 1 week later a stone has fallen out. The workmanship is at the very least shotty! Then they want you to buy the extended warranty but it does not cover lost stones. I would give them less than 1 star if I could.

We had Jessica as a customer service rep at Peoples at Mic Mac Mall. She was fair, honest and a pleasure to deal with. I couldn’t be happier with the service she provided. Thanks from Susan & Mike from Cape Breton ;) highly recommended. 🤩

My wife and I bought few jewellery last…

My wife and I bought few jewellery last month, costed almost or little over 2000 cad.As they did not have some of the items, we asked them to ship to our home. After waiting almost two weeks, I got an email, mentioning that it was delivered and pick it up from my own home address, which I never received.
I called the store several times, and the associate asked to call customer care, according to her that she cannot track nor access my order, surprisingly. But at the store they had all of their access till they sell it to me.
Later, spoke to the customer care and it was not easy at all to talk them right away, first had to pass the AI helper and eventually got the chance to text to a human (as I think, but not sure). And they informed that my parcel is at UPS access point and get there to collect it.
At the purchase, I ask specifically to deliver it to my home.I got a email mentioning my own home as the pick up point. And more over with the worst customer service..I strongly believe that nobody should buy from these guys. I bought all these jewellery for an occasion. I did not get them on time because of their misleading email and worst after service. This was our go to spot for jewellery in past but not any more...and if anyone wants to ruin their special occasions go with them...otherwise avoid them by all means.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I bought my granddaughter a Vera Wang bracelet on the website. The first day she wore it broke. I took the bracelet in to get fixed and they said about 1" was missing from the bracelet. The store sent it in to get it fixed and I received notice from store that they did not have a part to fix it and could only Sauder it. If they just sauder it the bracelet would not fit anyone. I was more than happy to pay for the repair. But was told to buy another bracelet. How can a company sell something and don't have parts to fix it. My husband ended up fixing it.
