I used picmonkey 1 time and wasn't pleased with the it and immediately canceled the well before the 7days but still was charged for a full year. No phone number just and AI bot chat interaction that has resulted in nothing. I need a refund as I as I did not want a subscription.
Fraudsters don't understand the difference between "free" and "free trial if you give us your credit card numbers"
Fraudsters state in their Google headline that this is a "free" editor, but in fact they require an annual subscription. They do offer a "free trial," but you are required to give them your credit card number (and although I don't know for certain because I wasn't stupid enough to give them my credit card, I suspect they impose lengthy, draconian requirement to cancel, like most scammers). It's fine to offer a free trial, but don't lie and announce you're "free" just to get more hits and suck you in.

There's no way to stop the monthly fees! And there no delete account button. Seems like a scam. Do not sign up for a pic monkey account. Any site that makes it that hard to cancel a subscription or delete an account has got to be a scam.

It is impossible to get in touch with Picmonkey customer support. I don't know what happened, but they don't listen and auto-renew without your consent. I feel that there must be better alternatives.

Beware PicMonkey Scam
Don’t get scammed by picmonkey they’ve been withdrawing money out of my bank account for years. Now I’ve caught them out in another of their lies saying my id was from Facebook I closed Facebook down 6 years ago! because it got so bad! They never speak to you in person it’s more AI runaround while continue to steal my money. I am a senior in Australia and being robbed every month by a company based in Ireland who benefits tax concessions while robbing poor!

7 day trial = 90 $
I have sent a complaint via the formular on the site, but reading the other trustpilot stories, i might as well try to get my money back by exposing the site here.
Here goes:
I set up a 7 day free trial which expired, but after that I was ONLY supposed to be billed for one month ($7.99) but now they have charged me for a whole year = $90!
This is NOT okay and I demand that you refund the money NOW.
On your front page it is clearly stated that it ONLY costs $7.99 per month - so you should NOT claim $90 from my account straight away!
I only intend to use your site for a few more days, so the $7.99 was ok - but $90 is WAY over my budget as a student since this money has to go to food - but clearly this site is just trying to scam people.
Furthermore, when you go to cancel your subscription, they offer 20 % off - but either way they take 90 $ from my account.
I have screenshots of how all of this is displayed on your site (the billing by the month, the extra 20 % off offer ect.).
I expect a refund of minimum 82 $ - otherwise I'm contacting my bank.

Shutterstock purchased PicMonkey late 2021 and it’s been downhill ever since.
Shutterstock ruined it ! I’m cancelling my subscription after being a loyal customer for 10+ years .

Intentionally deceptive billing - refuses to refund me
I just learned I’ve been charged $47.88 eight times and $41.19 one time since 2017 for a PicMonkey account that I canceled after a free trial. This comes to $424.23 in charges. (I even got charged twice in one year for an annual membership I never agreed to or used!) Additionally, I didn’t receive a single email notification about any charges or auto renewals. This is fraudulent. I contacted PicMonkey and they’re only willing to return one $47 fee and said I should’ve reached out sooner. I couldn’t reach out sooner because I had no idea I was being charged since they never sent receipts or notices of auto billing before billing me. Fraudulent company with deceptive practices - clearly they are desperate for customers or they wouldn’t resort to such tactics. I want my money back.

I cancelled my subscription a year ago…
I cancelled my subscription a year ago and I am still being charged monthly! I have tried to log back in to stop but the reset password email doesn't come through, probably because I don't have an account anymore but they are still charging me! I have sent a message to support and still waiting for a response. This is the most frustrating company!!!

I use picmonkey a year now and recently due to email account and payment changes I got billed a yearly fee. However I’m really pleased with the support and actions I have experienced asap I raised the above issue. They responded instantly with all the explanations and choices to keep prescriptions and get a refund all in an easy email correspondence. For me this is a very professional way of dealing with their customers satisfaction. Thank you.
Canceled free trial immediately as there was a 1 euro charge
I aggreed to a free trial on Pic Monkey. I used it immediately to work on one photo which I downloaded. I noticed I had an email from Paypal saying I had a one euro charge form Pic monkey. This aroused my suspicions as a free 7 day trial should not involve any immediate payments. So I had a look on trust pilot and saw other bad reviews. Based on this I decided to cancel immediately. I cancelled my pic monkey account and got a notification from PayPal that the 1 euro charge had been cancelled. Hopefully that's the end of it. Too bad as the photo editing was good

Fraudulent Company
First off, I cannot stress this enough. NEVER agree to a free trial with this particular company, even if you plan to cancel. They will charge you for an annual subscription EVEN if you canceled on the same day you made an account. On Valentine's day, I used Pickmoney to make Twitch panels for my boyfriend. I decided to sign up for a free trial to get the most out of my experience but made sure to cancel soon after. Today (23rd), I was checking my statement when I saw a charge for $131.10 on the 21st. Picmonkey still charged me despite having canceled on the first day. I tried searching for a cancellation email but suspiciously did not receive one. Today, I canceled my subscription yet again and did receive one the second time around. Honestly, I would not be surprised if they do this on purpose to mind**** customers into believing that they did not cancel after all and to absolve themselves of any responsibility. Instead of calling customer service (waste of time), I immediately called my bank to report fraud and suggest anyone else with this problem do the same.
The last thing, go take a look at your account settings. If you notice, they do not state the date when you first signed up for a free trial. I didn't even receive the typical "Welcome!" email on the day of. Just messed up all the way around.

Free is not really "free"
So, I signed up for the free trial on 1/16/23. Within 1 hour I canceled the subscription. I received an email that the subscription had been canceled. 7 days later my checking account is charged $126. I contacted them by email and did get a prompt response stating I had used the background remover and this was the charge. I never used this feature or any feature. I uploaded my photo and did nothing with it! I sent a second email today and I am refusing authorization of any more charges. The bank overturned the charge. They now tell me they can offer a prorated refund. No forgiveness from this company!!

I might have downloaded this for a trial. But ended the trail and nowhere on my apple id and accounts does it say that I am paying for this and then all of a sudden almost 100$ are taken from my account - yet I can’t even login using my apple id - telling me that I have no account! What a scam!! And nowhere to contact them….

Free trial = a lie.
Free trial = a lie.
After creating an account they pretend to offer you free trial version.
However when you want to use what you made, it is impossible. First you have to pay...
I hate people / companies who cheat and you should be able to charge for your time spent and misleading.

BEWARE ! This company will charge your credit card for a year subscription and refuse to cancel it in spite of stating that they would issue a refund. This is a scam company.

If I could give zero stars I would. I've been with Picmonkey for over 10 years, but I despair of what it's been turned into by Shutterstock. They've ripped the heart out of it. I note here it says that they respond to 75% of these reviews - yes they do, but only to falsely say they want to help. They don't - they just want us to continue paying without providing the stellar service we had before the owners of Picmonkey sold out to them. It simply doesn't work well now, and it's not worth the money. I would have stayed with them forever, but instead I've transferred to a monthly account while I remove my content to Canva instead.

I love PicMonkey but Shutterstock!?!?
I love PicMonkey, but the move to Shutterstock has made me sad. The images are cheesy… and I have the pro version. It was so much better before Shutterstock. I’m only writing this review in hopes that a collective effort of disappointment with the switch to Shutterstock will invoke change. I love PicMonkey, so it hurts to even do this.
PicMonkey has gone downhill fast.
I've had a Pro Membership with PicMonkey for several years, but I am extremely disappointed with the changes made since Shutterstock purchased this entity. The new layout is horrible. It is difficult to use on desktops or laptops using a mouse. Also, the stock photo selection has diminished to nothing, which of course, has been by design to prompt PicMonkey members to get Shutterstock memberships. No thanks.
