Misleading Subscription Practices and Refusal to Provide a Refund

I am extremely disappointed and outraged by my experience with GuruGo.

I purchased a specific product for $9. I did NOT knowingly agree to a recurring subscription, yet I was subsequently charged $89 per month for five months, resulting in a total of $445 in additional charges.

I consider this practice highly deceptive. Customers should not have to discover hidden recurring charges after purchasing a one-time product. Hiding subscription terms in small print is not a substitute for clear, transparent, and informed consent.

I have already contacted the company to demand a full refund of $445. However, their email support appears to be handled by an automated bot that offers three months of free access as an alternative. I do not want three free months, a discount, or any other offer. I want my money back. I did not request or consent to this subscription, and offering free access instead of addressing my refund request is completely unacceptable.

I am giving GuruGo three calendar days from the publication of this review to contact me personally and resolve this matter by confirming a full refund of $445 and the permanent cancellation of any recurring subscription or payment authorization.

If I do not receive a meaningful response from a real representative within this deadline, I will initiate a formal chargeback through my bank to recover the disputed funds and file a police report concerning these potentially fraudulent practices. I am prepared to provide payment records and all relevant correspondence as evidence.

I will not accept automated replies, free months, or attempts to redirect me toward another offer. I expect a proper response and a full refund.

I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution and carefully review the billing terms before purchasing from this company.

I purchased a GuruGo product for $9. I later discovered three charges of $69 each — a total of $207 — for a monthly subscription.

I did not receive a separate subscription receipt or a notification that the subscription had started. I dispute that I knowingly agreed to recurring payments.

Customer support claims that I consented by clicking “Continue” after the $9 purchase. However, the support representative stated that she could not provide documents or records confirming that consent in our correspondence.

My request for a $207 refund was denied. Automatic renewal has been disabled, but my dispute regarding the previous charges remains unresolved.

I recommend carefully reviewing the subscription terms and monitoring your bank statements after making a purchase.

Complete scam and lack of transparency. Despite declining an additional purchase by unchecking the option, it was charged to my card anyway. No option to refund, unless a complicated and longwinded process of logging in, completing courses and processing a request was followed. They are adament the charge is authorized and do not back down, opting the continue to lie and state the purchase is authorised by me. Beware!

This company is a scam. They don’t warn you or tell you when you’ve signed up for a subscription, and then when you’re charged $50 a couple days later, they refuse to refund it at any point. Really upsetting when you’re going through money troubles already don’t waste your time.

I purchased a promotional GuruGo offer for $6.30, which was presented on the sales page as a one-time payment. I did not knowingly choose or clearly authorize a $69 GuruGo PRO subscription.
A few days later, I was charged $69. I immediately contacted their support and requested a refund, explaining that I never gave clear consent for this subscription or recurring payment.
Instead of addressing the actual issue, their support kept sending template replies about refund conditions, including a requirement to complete 14 lessons. This makes no sense in my case, because my complaint is not about the quality of the course or not completing lessons. My complaint is that I did not clearly agree to a $69 subscription in the first place.
They confirmed that the subscription was cancelled, but they still did not provide a proper refund or clear proof showing where I agreed to the $69 charge. I also barely used the platform and did not complete any training.
In my opinion, this is a misleading billing flow. Be very careful before entering your card details. Take screenshots of every payment page and check whether a subscription is being activated.
I am now preparing a dispute with my bank and reporting the issue to Stripe / consumer protection authorities.

Купила у них гайд за 9 долларов — и думала, что на этом всё. Но нет. Через пару дней они тихо списывают ещё 89 долларов, без предупреждений, без согласия, без какой‑либо подписки в личном кабинете. Это не ошибка — это схема. Поддержка — отдельный цирк. Они нагло отказываются возвращать деньги, делают вид, что ничего не произошло, и начинают впаривать «бонусы», «расширенный доступ», «продления» — всё, что угодно, лишь бы не оформить возврат. На их «гарантию возврата» им плевать. Они просто тянут время и пытаются удержать деньги любой ценой. Никакой подписки я не оформляла, никаких предупреждений не было. Это скрытые списания, рассчитанные на то, что человек не заметит или махнёт рукой. Компания работает по принципу: заманить дешёвым продуктом, а потом обчистить карту. Абсолютно непрозрачно, грязно и нагло. Держитесь подальше. Они не предоставляют услуги — они занимаются тем, что обворовывают людей.

I saw an ad on Instagram: "Claude, prompts" a PDF for $10.I bought it and forgot about it. Three days later, $70 was withdrawn from my account, supposedly for a subscription to their platform. This was not stated anywhere. I didn't use the platform. The support team was bots. My refund was rejected. They simply went ahead and scammed me.
I don't recommend it.

Unfortunately, I only became aware of the poor reputation and dissatisfaction of Brazilian customers after the incident.

I purchased a lesson and after 3 days I was charged the equivalent of 1 month of access to the application, which I have no interest in.

I contacted customer service and quickly received generic responses. I noticed that they offer the supposed benefit of lifetime access to Brazilian consumers who feel wronged, but they refuse to refund the amount paid within the legally guaranteed timeframe under Brazilian law, according to the Consumer Protection Code, thus disrespecting the laws in force in our country.

I tried to resolve the situation amicably, but the responses are the same and they always refuse to comply with Brazilian law.

I understand that there is a company document, but for a good relationship in another country, knowledge and compliance with the laws of the country in which business is conducted are necessary.

In short, I do not recommend this company for its treatment of consumers from other countries.

I bought a low-cost offer from this website, but after 3 days I was charged for a much more expensive course/subscription. Maybe the paid activation was mentioned somewhere in small print, but it was not clear or obvious during the purchase process.

Gurugo.me advertised a $9 digital product. Right after I bought it they opted me in to the subscription I had never agreed to. Charged me additional $69 without my authorization. Customer service refuses to refund it back. Be careful! Their terms and conditions are hidden somewhere on their website and are not obvious.

Fraudulent charges for terms not presented or agreed to. I bought a single course. Then they charged me 89 dollars for something I did not purchase or agree to. Customer service asked me to “try the full program calmly” and have done anything but refund the money they stole from my account with a fraudulent charge.

The company is misleading its customers. After you pay for the course, they charge you, but don't give you the course. I spent two days trying to get a link to access the course, but I still haven't received it. After two days of back-and-forth and wasted time, I still haven't received the course.
