Service Has Declined at Plumbing World Levin

I have previously received excellent service from Plumbing World Levin, but my most recent visit fell short of expectations. The front‑desk staff member was abrupt, and she appeared disengaged, unfriendly, and seemed uninterested. I was then served by a young man who didn’t appear confident in the products, and I later found out that the items he recommended were completely incorrect for my needs. It was quite different from the helpful service I’ve had there before.

Ordered freezer spray

Ordered freezer spray, but not in stock. When chasing was told delivery was coming in, but 2 weeks later still no product. This item was a good price but only good if you have the product. Not happy at advertised item when not in stock, no good when planning a job

Please avoid - low quality and no refund

Please avoid! Cheap unfortunately means low quality here. One of the items (shower) was never sent, after chasing managed to get a refund.
The shower enclosure was badly bent and distorted multiple places - the idea of checking it thoroughly expects you to start installing it asap as it's impossible to notice details like this before. Had to put it in the skip and buy a new one. No refund.

In line with our policy, we provide a 30-day period commencing from the day of delivery for customers to notify us of any damages or faults prior to installation. Unfortunately, in this case, we were contacted outside of this timeframe, which means we were unable to offer a refund for the enclosure.

We do try to make this requirement as clear as possible. It is outlined in our returns policy, terms and conditions, and customers are also advised in their order confirmation email to familiarise themselves with these policies upon delivery.

Regarding the shower that was not received, once this was brought to our attention and investigated, a refund was issued accordingly.

We understand how frustrating issues like this can be and regret that we could not resolve the matter differently due to the time elapsed. We do appreciate your feedback.

Warning Customers to Think Twice

We recently purchased a Strom electric combi boiler from Plumbing World. As soon as it was installed, the boiler displayed an error code and would not operate. We contacted Strom directly in an attempt to resolve the issue, however found them extremely difficult to deal with, with no clear route to getting the unit fixed or replaced.

We then contacted Plumbing World, as they were the supplier and under our consumer rights they are the party responsible. Initially communication was positive, but the most recent response has been very concerning. We were told that because the boiler had been fitted, the matter now falls under the manufacturer’s warranty and that we must deal with Strom and follow their procedures.

This position is completely unacceptable. UK consumer law is very clear — if goods are faulty, the customer has the right to reject and return them to the supplier. It is not reasonable for Plum & World to push us toward a lengthy manufacturer process, especially when the product has never worked from day one.

In our experience, Plumbing World attempted to direct responsibility away from themselves and onto the manufacturer, which goes against our consumer rights. Customers should be aware of this approach before purchasing, as you may find yourself being passed between the supplier and manufacturer with no resolution.

We therefore strongly recommend thinking twice before purchasing from this company.

Faulty Merlyn tray

Ordered a Merlyn tray, arrived on time, looked ok on inspection. After fitting a crack appeared (manufacturing fault). There was no hassle at in sorting a replacement. Great customer service.

Very helpful

Bought a reasonably priced vanity unit. Only after it was fitted did we notice the curved door didn’t fit quite right, so I emailed customer service, who couldn’t have been more helpful.
Over the next weeks Rob liaised with the supplier and arranged for a replacement door to be delivered. There were some complications (all down to the supplier) but throughout, Rob never failed to keep me informed and responded almost immediately to my queries.
Other members of staff I dealt with were also very friendly and efficient. Excellent customer service throughout.

Scammer beware as the warranty not there.

But this tap was bought with the complete set and boiler tank from Ellsi .
There is no way I lied to you as the supplier wanted to get away from this responsibility.
Anyway I will never use your company to buy stuffs.

The warranty never there as my tap purchase in 19 Jul 2024 and warranty was for 2 years.But they replied said the tap was not bought from them which I did bought the whole new Ellsi hot boiling tap system with proof of purchase.
Never gonna use them now. Such a scammer.

WARNING: Punitive Return Policy and Failed Service

My experience with Plumbing World was severely frustrating. I returned an incorrectly ordered radiator, which UPS confirmed was delivered safely, yet Plumbing World refused the return, claiming it was broken on arrival. This punitive policy resulted in a complete financial loss for me, as the damage must have occurred before dispatch or during their handling. Furthermore, my accompanying valves order was incomplete and only resolved two weeks later after I proactively contacted them. Combined with previous delivery issues, this demonstrates a total failure in reliability and customer service. I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Never again will I use Plumbing World.

Update: The valve never arrived, and no refund has been made. In addition, the correct radiator was delayed due to damaged stock.

Wrong size toilet seat

When the item, a toilet seat, was received it was not the dimensions given in the listing on the website so it would not fit the toilet pan. I asked for the item to be collected and a refund but was told they would have to contact their supplier and wait for a response. I have emailed Plumbing World to say the contract was between me and them and their supplier is irrelevant but I've had no response to this.
