My daughters and I decided to plan a girls trip to Ireland to celebrate our Irish mother’s and grandmother’s heritage. We are so pleased we found Private Tours - Ireland to arrange our week long tour. We were initially working with Emma to set a preliminary itinerary and then continued working with Alan to finalize our plans. The 5 star accommodations were exceptional and the Michelin star dinners provided a special experience. Our selected tours were always private and first class. Once we met our chauffeur, Susan, we knew we were in capable hands. She was flexible in letting us linger at our favorite locations and recommended sites not on our itinerary she felt we would enjoy as time permitted.

Just returned from our first trip to Ireland and Scotland. MV Travel was EXCELLENT to work with. Our first contact with the company was Keith and we were then handed over to Rebecca. They both listened to our ideas and worked within our budget to put together a FABULOUS trip. We wanted to stay two nights at most locations which we realized would limit the number of places we would visit, but that work for the four us as we are senior citizens and didn't want an overly fast paced visit. Every tour they suggested turned out to be fantastic. From falconry at Ashford Castle in Ireland to High Tea with the Highland Cows in Scotland and every castle in between was well thought out and paid for in advance. Our two drivers (one in Ireland and a different driver in Scotland) were top notch. Very accommodating going above and beyond our expections. My husband decided in early April that he wanted him and I to go to Ireland in June to celebrate the sale of our company after 16 years in business. All I had to do was give them ideas of what we like to see and do on trips, the budget, the dates of arrival and departure, and they handled the rest. Each hotel was perfectly curated, the places where we had dinner reservations were delightful, the sightseeing was memorable, and our driver felt like an old friend by the time our trip was complete. They made our first trip to Ireland, with three generations, an amazing experience. Our kids, 11 and 8, went into the trip not being excited and left not wanting to leave. The companies they contract with are fantastic and we enjoyed the activities. When planning the itinerary, they listen to what you are looking for and execute the plan. They also will make dinner recommendations and reservations which makes the end of the day be stress free. Would highly recommend.

The tour company (Private Tours Ireland) was uniquely responsive, pleasant and helpful throughout our booking period and the tour itself.
We were assigned an absolutely wonderful driver (Colin). He was so knowledgeable, experienced and fun, that the four of us on the tour were always entertained and informed.
We had a relatively aggressive week-long tour scheduled starting in Dublin, thence Galway, Adare, Killarney, Cork and back to Dublin.
The entire process exceeded our expectations.
The weather was not that cooperative, but did not interfere with our plans.
All in all a wonderful tour. We would absolutely book again!

She took the time to ask about what we wanted to see, the types of experiences we were hoping for, and even where we wanted to eat. Once she had a draft itinerary, we worked together to refine it, and she was extremely patient and helpful, offering great suggestions and realistic timing to ensure we could truly enjoy each location. Her attention to detail made the planning process seamless and enjoyable.

One of the absolute highlights of the trip was staying overnight in a castle—a magical experience that felt like stepping back in time. We also had the chance to watch a sheepdog demonstration, which was not only impressive but gave us a real appreciation for rural Irish life. The falconry experience was unforgettable as well—getting up close with these majestic birds in such a beautiful setting was truly special. And for the golfers in the group, playing a round of golf on a classic Irish course was a bucket-list moment brought to life.

Of course, none of it would have been as smooth or enjoyable without Michael, our driver, who was absolutely fantastic. He managed to navigate even the narrowest of Irish roads with calm precision, always arriving right on time. Beyond his driving skills, he brought the history of Ireland to life with fascinating stories, had us laughing constantly, and made us feel incredibly well cared for. Having a private driver made all the difference—we never had to worry about logistics and were able to truly relax and enjoy every moment.
