We've been supporting independent record labels and music since 1988. Our main aim is to provide an online shop window for the kinds of specialist music from artists and labels that you would not otherwise have the opportunity to find or discover in stock elsewhere. Our sister company, Proper Music Distribution is the largest independent distributor in the UK and we are able to supply music from over 2000+ labels from all over the world, regularly releasing over 150 new releases or re-issues every week. We employ dedicated and experienced staff who provide a polite and professional level of customer service through our extensive product knowledge from working within the music industry for many years. All our orders are despatched using a first class or airmail service with Royal Mail (Tracked as standard for all UK orders, optional for ROW) or via our network of courier services. delayed but good service
I ordered a CD which I'd had trouble finding copies of elsewhere. The order was delayed for a while but after a phone call to check what had happened the CD arrived the next day.

Fast postage and well packaged but the cd was awful quality. Proper Music should refrain from distributing these grey area radio broadcasts, the labels involved in their manufacture use zero care in trying to provide a quality product. My cd had drop outs, audio clicks, fluctuating sound levels and played at the wrong speed. I wonder if they even listened to it. Proper did offer a refund on return but i had already binned the cd by the time that offer came thru.

Releases dates change regularly and are controlled entirely by the record labels, this is outside of our control so we can only apologise for the delay. Short summary: customer service does not respond to emails if you have an issue. If you are fussy about expensive items being undamaged, I would suggest an alternative retailer.
One of the items in my order arrived damaged. As it was an expensive purchase, I followed the guidance on the order email and contacted customer support. I received an automated acknowledgement of my email and then, well, nothing.
Subsequent follow-up emails have been ignored.
This seems to be a rising trend within e-commerce: the customer service side of things is expensive so retailers minimise their efforts to the detriment of customers.
So I would advise not using Proper Music if you are ordering expensive/limited edition items.

The LP arrived with a scratch
The LP arrived with a thumping great scratch on side B. Emailed them immediately, but as it was the weekend I didn't expect a reply until Monday. Tuesday they had not replied, so phoned them and left a message. Wednesday hadn't replied so phoned them again and the chap very quickly found my original email and photo. Said he would send me a prepaid postage label. This eventually arrived a couple of hours later. All in all a very disappointing experience. I am of the opinion that pressing plants do not have the quality control of albums pressed in the 80's- I have had to complain about faults on so many brand new releases. On the whole shops I buy from solve issues quite promptly- indeed, a company like Presto will immediately send out a brand new album and not require the fault one back. Juno wanted a video of the fault AND the album back. However, nothing prepared me for the apathy I was met with with Proper Music. I will buy my albums from somewhere else in future :(
Update: well things go from worse to worse- the supplier has not responded to any of my emails even though they have had the record back- no refund, no replacement, despite me sending them proof of postage.

I bought a vinyl which I requested by email to be canceled 1 day later. No response from the store... After 2 days I received an email that the order was shipping. Τhey never saw my email… And also they sent it without to sending me a tracking number!!! I don't know where this package is and when it will arrive... I’m not recommending this store
