I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience with Regus during the exit process.

I was instructed to make a final exit payment to close my account, which I paid immediately. After requesting the return of my £1,207 deposit, I was informed that almost £500 had been deducted because they had repainted the office.

What I found most frustrating was that I was never notified before the work was carried out. I wasn’t given the opportunity to inspect the office, discuss the condition of the walls, or challenge the proposed charges before the deduction was made. After calling customer services, I was told an email had been sent to me. I checked my inbox, junk and spam folders thoroughly, but I never received any such email.

When they eventually sent me photographs, they only showed light scuff marks on the walls. In my opinion, many of these marks could have been cleaned off rather than repainting the entire office.

I also noticed that some of the marks shown in the photographs were in areas where the office cabinets had been positioned when I first took the office. Those areas were hidden behind the cabinets during my occupancy, so I had no way of seeing them. I therefore cannot say whether those marks were already there before I moved in and had simply been concealed by the cabinets, or whether they occurred when the cabinets were removed after I left. Either way, I was never given the opportunity to inspect the office with the cabinets removed before the decision was made to repaint and deduct money from my deposit.

I also reviewed the Terms and Conditions, which state that additional charges may be made for repairs above normal wear and tear. After occupying the office for one year, I believe the marks shown are consistent with normal wear and tear rather than damage requiring a full repaint.

To make matters worse, this was a very small office that could only accommodate two people, yet I was charged nearly £500 for repainting. I do not believe this cost was proportionate, and I have had to repeatedly chase for an explanation, a breakdown of the charges and supporting invoices.

Overall, I found the exit process lacking in transparency and fairness. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone renting with Regus to take detailed photographs before moving in and before leaving, request a joint inspection where possible, and carefully scrutinise any deductions made from their deposit.

More Lies!!!

If there has been a date given for the return of my funds, tell everyone what that date is - so EVERYONE reading can witness the lies… In one of your recent replies, you said I was going to receive my money in a few days - that didn’t happen did it? That was a lie. Now you mention a date - tell us what that date is, because you and I know - no date has been given.. So for the sake of everyone who is reading this, please state the date, so I can reply on that date and tell EVERYONE that you are lying once again… What date is it that I will receive my Deposit refund - the date that you talk of? Tell everyone the date - please! If you are lying about my refund - what else would you lie about?

The date of the refund returned - tell EVERYONE! I’d be very surprised if you post the date!!!

Hi Mark,
I’m sorry to read your multiple complaints.
We know that you need your deposit back and, once again, we’re truly sorry about the unfortunate delay in refunding it to you.
We escalated this to the highest possible level and a member of my team has now provided you with a proof of payment which confirms your payment date (31 October 2024). You can expect to receive it within your bank account in the next few days.
Best regards,

REGUS WILL RUIN YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!!!

I can't express any more how BAD Regus are as OFFICE PROVIDERS.. They have NOW not returned my 2 months deposit and I have been waiting over 30 days.. I was also told to remove my bad review in order to receive a refund of a payment that they apparently charged me by accident.. "Take down the bad review and we'll refund you your money" they said.. I felt like I was dealing with some kind of Mafia, as the request was very passive aggressive and matter of fact...

The ONLY people who can solve any issue are based OVERSEAS and they don't care because they dont know you.. DON'T
USE REGUS!!! EVERYTHING takes an EXTREMELY long time to be solved and nobody you can physically interact with can make any definitive decisions about anything "EMAIL SUPPORT" is the common phrase.. The overseas staff are rude and the office managers can't do anything to help you without overseas approval....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not give your money to this company.. The sales people SMILE and are very very FRIENDLY, BUT, the moment they sell you an office and are gone FOREVER and if you have any issues (Which you will), if you phone that sales person - they will tell you to "EMAIL SUPPORT", which are people OVERSEAS who wake up when you go to sleep.. CRAZY!!!!

They have HELD MY MONEY and have not given it back and I paid my rent on time every MONTH.. REGUS MIGHT BE FRAUDSTERS - i could be wrong, but it surely does feel I'm being DEFRAUDED right now.. Regus will CRIPPLE your business...

I've had to contact them about MY MONEY as nobody felt to monitor the progress of my refund - they just wait for a problem that they know is incoming.. Also, because most stuff are OVERSEAS, the ground staff are disconnected with how things are progressing, so they can't even update you.. You would think a staff member would call me up and update me about my DEPOSIT, considering they will come to for a rent payment that hasn't been received. If you don't speak up, they will just sit back and let me or others, their customers, experience VERY BAD customer service and communication.. REGUS DO NO CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!

DON'T RENT AN OFFICE WITH REGUS - YOU WILL REGRET IT and your BUSINESS MAY get a BAD reputation because or REGUS!!!!!!

Terrible Experience with Dishonest…

Terrible Experience with Dishonest Regus Team
Avoid Regus, I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the unprofessional behavior and failure to deliver on promised services during my tenure with Regus.
Despite initial assurances, the services provided did not meet the agreed-upon standards. Furthermore, the prolonged retention of my deposit without clear justification is both frustrating and unacceptable.
I believe in fair and transparent business practices, and my experience with Regus has left me dissatisfied and questioning the integrity of your services. They dishonestly kept my deposit & Retainer for 12 month for 6 month agreement if customers delay rent then late fee apply but they delay no late fee totally cheating customers Thank you for your attention to this issue
My bad experience is Regus Interchange House,Croydon (13421401)

Hi Harvinder,
We are disappointed to see another complaint regarding these same issues.
We initially processed the retainer refund on 18 January but there was a delay because the bank details you provided to us were incorrect. You then provided the correct bank details on 4 March and we processed the refund in the next payment run.
Our invoices are payable no later than on the 15th day of the month. If payment is not received by the due date, we incur administration costs and, though we would like to avoid charging you for this, we must pass on a late fee to you. You were invoiced late payment fees because your account had an uninterrupted outstanding balance for the whole period from 25 March to 26 August.
Our team have been helpful to you throughout. Please speak with them again directly if you have more concerns.

Negative Star Rating is better than even one star for Regus

UpdatI would like to express my dissatisfaction with this company and its management for what I perceive as deceptive practices regarding cost disclosure in their offers. Initially, I was quoted the lowest price for their services, but upon signing the contract, I was suddenly confronted with additional charges that were not clearly communicated to me. This lack of transparency extended to the terms and conditions, which were never adequately explained to me.

Specifically, I was presented with a single price via email, but later, I discovered hidden costs such as cleaning fees and charges for basic amenities like tea and coffee. Additionally, I found myself bound to a two-month commitment, despite being led to believe in my email communication that this requirement would be more flexible. Even after attempting to address my concerns through a formal complaint, my grievances fell on deaf ears. Both the head of sales and operations, as well as the manager in charge of the Croydon location, chose to disregard my complaint.

I tried to resolve multiple times but they completely refused to answer and rectify their mistakes.

I wish to highlight that this company demanded over £700 in extra fees, which I consider to be an act of extortion. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the center lacked essential resources such as extension cables, necessitating the purchase of these items and the inconvenience of moving furniture to access power outlets. Though an extension cable was eventually provided after a week of disputes, my overall experience with this company has left me with the impression that it is not a sound investment for hard-earned money.

I had previously been satisfied with WeWork and have decided to return to their services. In addition to my formal complaint to the financial ombudsman, I hope they will address this issue, as it appears that the rental was misrepresented. The response from the management, which primarily directed me to read the terms and conditions, was unsatisfactory, as I was never given a proper opportunity to do so. It is inconceivable that any company in the UK would offer a product or service, such as a cup of tea, for one price and then subsequently claim that, due to an alleged oversight, I am responsible for additional charges covering the cup, its contents, and cleaning fees. This lack of transparency is unacceptable.

I strongly advise against engaging with this company, particularly the Croydon location. Regrettably, based on my experiences, I have doubts about the practices of other branches in London as well. I urge prospective customers to thoroughly review any hidden costs and carefully scrutinize the terms and conditions before entering into an agreement. It is important to note that my concerns are not unique, as there are others who have similarly voiced complaints about the company's questionable tactics.

[Updated after seeing the reply]
Croydon has two managers. One manager showed me clearly that everytime they sign a contract they write in detail to the customer on what are the extras and how much they will have to pay. This did not happen with the sales person who sold me the deal. I had clearly written in all emails that I only need one month contract and not the two month. The email reply also confirmed that the local manager will sort it out. Then I had specifically said this price is good so happy to sign. I was then forced by few urgent emails saying sign now, discount will expire and so on. Then the email that came shared only the actual cost that was sold. There was no mention to read hidden charges in terms and conditions. A link was provided to sign the contract urgently and then that's it. I was stuck paying three times more than WeWork. Which person in their right mind set will join regus and pay three times more? This was clearly mis-sold and even now when you see their reply, they are stuck with their own definition and not ready to accept that they have sold incorrectly. I do not have to say anymore.
I have enough proofs to see you in court.
Please also refund back my deposit it has been more than 3 months I have left and I have not heard back from you. I hope the CEO sees this message or atleast the board or the original founder. If he writes back telling me I am wrong, then happy to stop this discussion. But it is clear to me, such a big company thinks it is ok to cheat people. And that too when I have been very transparent that I only needed for one month from day one before I go into an office with you. But this was ignored and you spent energy coming back again now saying I am wrong.
05/06/2024: Still zero refund. Regus has not responded even the deposit that I had given. Shambles

Hello Mac,
I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction.
Our teams are always available to answer any questions you may have but you signed that you had read and understood the terms and conditions so it is surprising that you are now claiming that they “were never adequately explained to me”.
We provide our restoration service for all customers to save time and money, along with the frustration of dealing with multiple outside vendors such as IT & phone technicians. When you moved into your office, we ensured it was all in working order and ready for use. We do the same with each customer and this service is part of your agreement.
The 30 day notice period for a month-to-month agreement was also detailed before you signed and the main page clearly outlines retainer requirements and states that all agreements end on the last calendar day of the month. All this information is on the front page that you signed so stating that there is a “lack of transparency” is simply untrue.
We don’t feel that we have acted unfairly here. A member of my team has been in touch to clarify any further questions you may have.
Kind regards,

Regus is a good Company in general but…

Regus is a good Company in general but it's the people who they hire on the senior level position ruins the reputation of the Company due to their personal ego, unethical and unprofessional approach.

I am a long time client of Regus using their offices in London and internationally mainly UAE, Qatar and Pakistan.

I have a office in Regus office Croydon Interchange - London since May 2021 and till last quater of 2022 everything was perfectly fine until new management tookover.

In Jan 2023 they informed me that they are moving me to another office which will be bigger and better.
After my office was moved, I noticed that the office was not ready to be occupied due to incomplete furniture, office was not properly cleaned and the worst part the heating was not working and I was forced to work under the cold temperature due to which my health was badly effected and thus the business.
I raised the complain but the Regus team failed to addressed the issues due to the lack of services available at the centre.
I started working from home beacuse the office environment was not sutiable for work and health.
I took almost 3 months for Regus Team to resolve the office issues specially the heating.

Later I requested them to issue me the credit note for the number of months I was not able to use the office and they had charged me the rent for.
To my surprise they refused to give me the credit note or make a refund.

It was a clear breach of agreement by failing to provide me with the suitbale office environment to work.

I think a legal action is the only solution now.
