Exactly the same Issue as everyone else appears to have had, card expired with £40 balance. 12 months isn't long enough. It should be made clear at the time of purchase that this is the case.

Disappointing. Definitely would not recommend purchasing!

Was given a gift card as a present and likewise was somewhat surprised to see the gift card had an expiry date of 12 months. Not sure when it was purchased and with the recent lockdowns we’ve had in the last 24 months they did offer 50% but have declined this. Won’t ever purchase one of their gift cards for a present myself.
Called their customer services who were friendly but dislike their 12 month policy especially following events of recent times.

Surprised to discover the gift card had a 12 month expiration- from the purchase date, not from when I received it! Unfortunately I was 2 and a half months beyond it. I phoned customer services, got through quickly and they were helpful, but only offered 50% of the balance back on a new card. Better than nothing, but I wouldn’t recommend these cards as a gift.

My wife and i went to Cafe Rouge Cheshire Oaks for breakfast Sat 10/12/22.
With a £25 gift card. Unused and expires 02/25 well within date.
Expecting to have to pay around only £5-£10 extra.
The gift card was declined at till so we had to pay around £33 , not great with run up to Christmas and an unexpected £20+ out of my account.
Really unhappy as this is not the first time a gift card within date and with full balance has been declined once we've asked for the bill at the end.
Will not recommend this voucher to anyone what so ever .

The Restaurant Choice Gift card I was given £80 for a special Birthday tried to use at FiveGuys twice and card was declined so had to pay for meal twice by cash - card is valid however if the FiveGuys logo not on the gift card you have it isn't valid in their restaurants although it tells you on their website you can use? Rang co very polite but however could not extend the card for any further time advised when it runs out ring again and they will send you a new one for half the value. Please please just send your family/friends a cheque do not waste your money on this con really not fit for purpose!!!!

If the choice was available I would not even give one star!
I received a gift card during lock down - a thank you for helping someone out. We were not able to use it. I phoned up today to see if they would honour the voucher and they said yes but only 50% so for my particular voucher that is £25 they keep for doing nothing! I can understand charging a postage fee but admin ect does not cost £25!
Absolute disgrace do not recommend these vouchers at all. Shame on them especially with everything going on.

Die gelisteten Restaurants haben noch nie von restaurantchoice gehört und weigern sich daher, den Gutschein einzulösen, was ich auch verstehe. Auch die Restaurantsuche suf der Webseite ist äusserst mühsam. Fazit: nie wieder, schade ums Geld!

Ich konnte den Gutschein im von Restaurant Choice aufgeführten Restaurant nicht abgeben. Der Wirt wollte den Gutschein nicht annehmen, da er Restaurant Choice nicht kennt! Auf meine Anfrage bei Restaurant Choice habe ich nie eine Antwort erhalten. Ein voller Reinfall!!??!!

VERY POOR service, I was given a gift card by a very happy customer as a thank you.
Now life is becoming more normal after covid i thought i would use it. So i called customer service to check the balance, where i was told it had expired..... Funny there is not expiry date on the card at all so this should be still valid..
I wonder how many people were ripped of by this company in this way.

Die Restaurants geraten in Probleme, da sie die Gutscheine nicht annehmen wollen, weil sie nicht wissen, ob und wie sie das Geld jemals erhalten!

I tried to use the gift card, that my son gave me, twice in a pizza hut and twice in Nandos. Nandos claimed that they didn't have the machine to accept the card and Pizza hut said you could only order on their app so couldn't use the gift card. My card expired so I called customer service. They did issue me with a new card but said it would be 50% of the original amount. Total waste if money!!!!

Bought a gift card 5th November 2020 and it expired on 21st December didn’t know this until I tried to use it in a restaurant in July 21 emailed restaurant choice no response by sheer luck had purchased through high street vouchers website who contacted restaurant choice and got me a refund. So although stated on card valid for 12 months somehow it had been activated the year before has totally put me off purchasing gift cards as gifts.

I attempted to use this card at Miller and Carter, they didn't accept it. I thought I may have been able to use it there as I thought their website stated they accepted it but I can't remember with certainty whether this was the case. I then attempted to use this card at Yo! The restaurant name is written on the front of the card and it states on their website that they are accepted there. Since the pandemic, Yo! have switched exclusively to app ordering and have no physical card machines, therefore cannot accept the card.
I spoke to a member of their team on the phone, he said he would send me an email which would allow me to get a refund. He also stated that they should be accepted in Miller and Carter, which added to my wanting a refund. The email was supposed to arrive in 2 days, 8 days later nothing so I called them.
The operative I spoke to denied the card being accepted at Miller and Carter and stated that I should have received an email as they had sent it out and that my refund request had been denied. He was overall snarky, rude and not interested in helping. I raised a complaint with him and corrected the email address they had. He repeatedly stated that I would not be receiving a refund, no matter the outcome of my complaint.
What a con, do not buy anything from this company, any positive reviews on here are likely fake and it's interesting that they're rebranding, probably to escape from these negative reviews. Have no fear, I will make it my personal mission to pursue them though no end of name change to ensure anyone who uses their company is aware of how simply awful they are.

Card is a major CON with limited shelf life. The UK Gov should outlaw such cards that make profit on limited shelf life.

As per a number of simialr reviews I had a card which expired during Covid.

A quick 5 minute call with customers services and a new one was sent out within 7-10 working days.

I agree they shouldn't have such a short expiry but it's really simple to get it resolved.

absolutely stupid waste of money, why not burn some money in 12 months time instead.its not even written on the card when it lapses

Have sent around 5 messages through their online contact us form regarding an expired card. No acknowledgement whatsoever. Disgraceful level of customer service

The cards expire and the websites not much help. But if you call them they'll just send you a new one to use, so don't throw the cards away!
