A con job, paid US$1 for a trial, a few days later US$39.90 taken from my card without warning and was told I now had a recurring annual subscription. I complained to "Mary" and was told I'd get a refund, never happened, now when I look for the email offering this I find it has been recalled and replaced by an edited version blaming me for their theft, sneaky and underhanded. Avoid this company, they are scammers
EDIT - They replied to this with a "talk to us" message, I contacted them through that and was completely ignored, I guess they just wanted to look good.
I escalated my complaint through Paypal and after much hassle did receive a refund so that's good, but doesn't change my opinion of these people or their methods. Don't go near them.

A bad set up , great trial price of US$1 to find out what you're getting, but subscrition is buried in the terms & conditions for you to be billed $39.99 5 days later ...I was absolutely seething over this... HOWEVER, I emailed customer service who promptly refunded my PayPal account so they ARE trying to put things right ...

I paid $1 on 15 April for what I believed was a one-off photo revision service from Revive Memories. The edited photo was initially returned with part of the image cut off, although this was corrected quickly after I raised the issue.
On 17 May, I was unexpectedly charged $39.90 for a subscription I was unaware I had signed up for. On the same day the payment was taken, I received an email stating that my 7-day trial had ended and thanking me for subscribing. Unfortunately, by that point the money had already been taken. It would have been far fairer and more transparent to send a reminder email before charging customers.
I raised a dispute through PayPal, but it was resolved in favour of Revive Memories. I have also contacted Revive Memories directly and am currently awaiting a response. If the matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will be contacting my bank.
After this happened, I noticed several other reviews describing similar experiences. It is disappointing that Revive Memories appear to be aware of these ongoing complaints yet have not made the subscription terms clearer for new customers.
I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to carefully check the payment terms and confirm whether you are agreeing to a recurring subscription before making payment.
Since posting this review I have received an email from Revive Memories advising me a full refund is being processed . However my original review remains the same about being aware of the subscription charges!

Was offered a $1 upload to revive a photo which was received and was of ok quality. However a week later was charged USD $39.90 stating my trial had ended. This was never identified in the initial offering. Nor was any email received following the initial purchase stating I was now part of a subscription service.
Based on the numerous reviews I have now read, this is simply a lure to automatically opt you in to monthly payments when they weren’t requested in the first place. I have emailed their help but am yet to receive any acknowledgement.
Beware of this poor practice

Revive Memories did an amazing job of converting an old photo of my first wife (deceased) and myself when we were dating into this beautiful video that I will cherish forever. It has bought back so many beatiful memories for myself and our 2 children who were both very young when she passed. Thank you ❤️ Revive Memories.

This was totally unexpected as I have not signed up to any monthly plan.

they are scammers, they will trick you into entering a subscription which you would not have done and then bill you..they sent me a phony image of my purchase with them, except i took a screen shot at the time of purchase which clearly shows them adding information.Absolutely disgusted by them...will be going to my bank to get reversed

I paid the $1 for a video but then realised i clicked on the subsribe thinking it was the link to my video. I have tried emailing but says post undeliverable. How do i cancel before money gets taken out?

I too paid $1 to see a memory from 2 family members who have passed, I did not like it but now I am being charged $57.50 . Sorry but I didn't realise I'm now a member. It was a one off and it felt weird, It's not something I want .Who do I contact to cancel please

Review updated due to company response- I used a free trial and thought nothing more of it but then discovered I was automatically signed up to a subscription. As others have said PayPal didnt help with this and therefore I contacted the company for a refund. I feel the number of customers raising the subscription issue indicates a need for a review of this system but the email and review here has led to an excellent customer service response from the team and a full refund. I cannot comment on the service they provide as I didn’t use it sufficiently to judge.

I was happy to pay the initial fee to see my parents again (and very happy with the video) but today noticed that they have taken £39 from my PayPal account without my authorisation.
Despicable to play on emotionally vulnerable people with a disingenuous 'subscription ' masquerading as a obe off fee.

My mother passed away in the 1970's with a dreadful cancer. I was young, she was young!
I never saw her 'move' or smile as we had no video footage then. We did not have a cine camera etc.
I saw Revive Memories and had to really think about if I wanted to see her. I lost my brother recently and after a lot of pondering, decided, with apprehension to bring my mum to life.
It was such an easy process and it took some hesitancy to press the button.
When I did, my mum moved and smiled with her warm beautiful smile. I immediately cried and could not stop. It was fabulous. I have that memory downloaded and have shown my son what his grandma was like. Unfortunately, I could not carry on the auto unless cancelled subscription and received fantastic customer support upon cancelling. But, if anyone has multiple images they want to revive I would highly recommend the subscription, that can be cancelled in any month. The after sale service is quick, genuine and kind.

I was charged $70 later that month and I have just been charged another $70
I have no doubt the service is valid and good for some people but I had no idea I would be charged.

As far as I was aware I just paid $1 for the one photo they changed.
After contacting them, as below, they promptly gave me a full refund.

My experience with revive memories was wonderful, it was a very simple process and fun looking at how a single picture can be made into a snap movie…. I only felt the monthly fees were too high for me at this point and fortunately, Mary, made the cancellation very easy while allowing the tokens earned remained active. Outstanding professionalism
