Bitterly disappointed by the quality of…
Bitterly disappointed by the quality of plants from RHS Plants website. Last year we ordered a dozen asparagus crowns. To our surprise they arrived in December. RHS website recommends you should plant them in April/May! They were terrible, half were dead and the other half very weedy. We complained and got some replacements which looked marginally better (at least they were alive). We planted them but this Spring only 2 out of 12 came up. The rest had rotted overwinter. We complained again and was told no refund available as they are not covered by their 5 year guarantee. We asked why they sent them out in December when they RHS recommends you plant them in April/May? They said sorry but no refund available as asparagus are not guaranteed! We will never buy any plants from them again as Customer service people didn't seem to care.
A wonderful visit to RHS Wisley Gardens
We visited the RHS Wisley Gardens yesterday on the very sunny Bank Holiday. Being disabled I had to avail myself to their disabled buggy facility. I had close contact with three of the garden staff and I just want to say thank you for the best customer care. The staff were really outstanding and nothing was too much trouble for them. The vast range of plants to see were amazing and the colours of the current plants in bloom were breathtaking! I can’t wait for my next visit. I have purchased the membership option which makes visiting Wisley Gardens very good value.
Premature opening of RHS Bridgewater
Went to the newly opened RHS Bridgewater at Worsley. Apart from the walled garden it was merely a pleasant walk as the gardens are not yet ready to receive visitors. All mighty queue at the only cafe in operation. Don’t visit until late summer or better still next year. Guess they were desperate for revenue!
Caught Out by Early Closing
Went to RHS wisely and enjoyed a walk round the arboretum garden. Visited the bird hide that seems to be positioned where there is a scarcity of birds. I get more in my garden at home.
Then to the large greenhouse where I was met by someone guarding the entrance and a group of other gloomy visitors. Sorry we close the greenhouse at 15:30 you can't come in we close at 16:00.
Come on what's that all about? Its the main attraction what people pay to get in for. 15:30 is mid afternoon as far as I am concerned. At least you could have warned us with a prominent sign at the entrance.

I was horrified to see the amount of plastic used to pack my plants! Plastic pots in huge plastic trays all wrapped in plastic bubble wrap.
I find it inexcusable that a company I would have expected to be a leader in the fight to reduce pollution should be so blatantly creating it. Disgusting!
I ordered other plants from different suppliers which came securely packed with no plastic at all.

So so disappointed with the RHS plants online, bought 10 bare rooted raspberry canes back in October, could have bought these anywhere else, but to my mind if I bought from the RHS I would be buying quality, but as I said at the beginning so disappointed, waiting throughout the autumn into the winter and now into spring, out of 10 canes, only two have shown any kind of life. I have now missed this years growth and no raspberries, due to a poor product and too late to plant any more.
As most people have said, a poor customer service, waiting for ages for any reply, and when I did, offered a 75% refund, even though the plants have a 5 year guarantee???
Will never be buying from them again.
Very disappointing in all respects
I ordered 7 Lavandula (Lavender) angustifolia 'Munstead' plants in 2L pots at a total cost of £104.93 with an additional delivery charge of £8.95. At £14.99 each these should be top quality specimens. All 7 plants were small, weak specimens with yellow/black dying/dead foliage, poor growth habit and should never have been dispatched in this condition. If you saw these plants in a nursery, trust me, you wouldn't buy them. The top of the growing medium was covered in Moss & Liverworts indicating that they had been growing in wet conditions for a long period, the complete opposite of what lavender need for healthy growth. I trusted the RHS link to this supplier and the association is completely misleading. I would advise you to save your money and NOT purchase from this site. Shame on you RHS.
Buying from RHS doesn’t mean you’re getting extra quality.
Bought 3 hydrangea £29.99 each. They look half dead. Few leaves, absolutely rubbish. Tesco selling same size, starting to flower £10 each. Local florist in Holland Park is also selling beautiful hydrangea £29 each and they look far healthier then the ones RHS sent me. Very disappointed to say the least.

I placed an order online for some shrubs after receiving a membership "£5 off £40 or more spend"
On checking out my order the promotional code was not accepted.
I continued the order as part of this order was a birthday gift (Magnolia shrub).
After this I tried tirelessly to get this code added to my order and this was never resolved. I received part of the order which included the Magnolia shrub, I opened the box to find this had been left out in the
frost.
I took photos of this still in its packaging and sent to RHS. I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM THE "PLANT DOCTOR" two weeks later after chasing this up.
Appalling customer service and shoddy products.
I regret placing an order and wish I had continued to support my local nurseries, which in the future I shall be doing.
I purchased a few plants from the RHS…
I purchased a few plants from the RHS shop, one was an indoor fern. Despite following instructions and putting it in a north facing (shady) window and keeping it moist, within a few days it dried up and died. I contacted customer support on the 9th of April with my order number and they asked for a photograph of the dried/dead fern - No problem, I sent them a photograph - now the 25th of April and not a single reply/response from the RHS despite numerous follow up emails from me. What confidence do I have to purchase anything from the RHS ever again? Poor, very poor 'Customer Service' (if a service as such!).
I received a rose from the RHS which…
After 3 emails with photos, I finally received a response to say that the rose was covered under plant guarantee and a new rose was sent out, which already has new growth.
I received a rose from the RHS which was a gift from a friend for my birthday. It arrived well wrapped and started to grow immediately but within two weeks all the new leaves had fallen off and the new stems had gone black. I have emailed 3 times ( a week apart each one) with photos updating RHS about the state of the rose which is now a dead black twig. All I have had is a confirmation that my emails have been received. No one from RHS has made any attempt to contact me. I am a member but am seriously thinking of not renewing my membership and will not buy a plant from them in the future. I will also be telling my friends not to buy from them either.
terrible customer service and refusal to refund for dead plant
I bought 11 plants from RHS and spent over £100. Some were described as 2 litre plants but were extremely small. The 1 litre plants are either not visible at all or are about half inch. One plant shows no signs of life even after 4 weeks since arriving and I sent photographs of this plant 2 weeks ago asking for a refund or different plant. It took two weeks to respond to me and the response was - wait until the end of May. This is REALLY out of order and I am shocked by the lack of customer care. The plant cost £10 and I want my money back! To update - I then phoned and was told the 'plant doctor' would decide whether I could have my money back or not. I am seething. My advice to anyone is DO NOT BUY from this company. It is apparently owned by Waitrose and nothing to do with RHS so far as I can make out.
Terrible customer experience
Terrible customer experience. When the plants came there were bigger weeds in the pots than the plant. I waited over two weeks for a response to my complaint. Wish I had looked at the other reviews from RHS before ordering. I would never order again.
Would never use them again
Would never use them again. Sent me a Buddleja that was only half the advertised size. 50cm tall (inc pot) - cost £69.99. The customer support is so poor, they are saying it will take two weeks even to review my complaint.
Seriously poor value for money
I thought that with the RHS name behind this, the quality would be second to none. What I received was amazingly disappointing and one plant was little more than the size of a fingernail, for £9.99. I’m still awaiting their reply to my query regarding this but I’d have to say that based on this alone, I’ll be buying elsewhere in future.
Great plants...no delivery note?
Excellent plants, really well packaged but.... why no delivery note? It's the only delivery I've ever had without this essential item. I now have a problem where a very expensive bench was included in the online order confirmation but not delivered with the other items. Customer service not responding to my emails so far. I would advise only paying with Credit Card until they improve this small but vital part of the transaction.
Placed an order for a book
Placed an order for a book. Confirmation email had mistake in address but they assured me on the phone it would be changed, over a week after they emailed delivery had gone still not received it. Trying to contact them by phone is near impossible and emails not answered for ten working days. They may be short staffed but please get someone to answer the phones!

Are they living in the past? 11days from placing an order for a single packet of seeds i received them SECOND post today postage £2.95,seeds £2.49 total £5.44 .
STANDARD POSTAGE is £0.70 2nd class RHS don't pay normal rates.FIVE days to put them in an envelope and post is beyond belief. I have ALWAYS supported RHS products via retail sources but decided to go direct as they have a superb ranges but 11 days for delivery 5 days for posting an THREE times standard postage is NOT a good start of my long time support and respect for this organisation.
