I was immediately given a task, 275 phrases. I had two days to finish. I quickly did the first 200, then came back to finish. A few days later, I got an email to rerecord 22 because not enough silence at the beginning (they want about 2 seconds silence) or background noise more than 40 decibels. They recommend using the free app Decibel X. Sent it back, got back one more to fix. Robson confirmed I was done, expect pay in 15 days. Got my $40 in about a week. Took about an hour all together. Waiting for the next one!

It's a complete SCAM!!! AVOID!!!!

As other reviewers have said it's a scam. After recording 275 they email me back saying there wasn't enough space before and after the sentences. Any teenager could run all those audio files through a program and add 2 seconds before and after to each file. And why does the software have a countdown clock? Why can't they just simply add the seconds before and after automatically? Avoid at all costs.

Spent two hours recording 275 sentences. “Payment would be made in ten days” now, I get an email that I need to re-record 275 new sentences. No payment for the first bunch.

This company sent me about 15 emails back to back in a row with a new task available to complete. It was record 275 short sentences and the payment was $40. As requested I put on my noise canceling headphones and I sat in a room all by myself with not as much as a fan running. I had no background noise whatsoever. I was even rechecking them especially after the bad reviews I have read on this company where people say the same thing I'm saying right now. They sent me an email today and told me that none of my 275 sentences passed due to noise in the background. There could not have been the slightest hint of a noise in my background. There wasn't the slightest hint of a noise in my background when I was listening to my sentences. Here is what they do people. They take your voice, they tell you that it didn't pass their quality checks, Knowing dang well it did, also they can still use your voice and not have to pay you. Id about bet that that is how this company functions. It's just too convenient to see it happening over and over and over again in reviews everywhere that I look. There's no way that my sentences could not have passed, there's just no way. They're going to just keep doing it to people as long as people keep allowing them to do so. Companies like this need to be put out of business!!

Completed the tasks, they review it for over a month! I guess I will never get the payment.

It’s basically scam: they give you tasks to complete (recording short sentences in you native language) in clusters of 75’items. When completed they analyse them and always find something wrong, requiring you to re-record the not accepted items. The problems is that they say the recordings are not ok because they have a little background noise Thea is inherent of the phone and you can’t avoid in any way. I think they use this trick as a way not to pay people and getting perfect recordings for free. DON’T try it, it’s scam

Ci sono tanti furbi sul web,uno di questi si chiama "Robson A.I." ,dico questo, perché: avevo partecipato a delle registrazioni vocali ,la prima volta 75 registrazioni vocali per la bassa cifra di $6,5( riascoltata una per una ,registrate benissimo come da loro richiesto con silenzio di sottofondo, nessun rumore, voce chiara,in poche parole perfette), non mi pagano ( la revisione, dicono loro era di circa 10gg ) scrivo una mail e dato che erano passati i famosi 10gg per la revisione, mi rispondono che dovevo ripetere 25 frasi perché registrare male con rumori e ronzii di sottofondo ( cosa alquanto falsa in quanto riascoltate con le cuffie erano perfettamente registrate), ok registro nuovamente 25 frasi , e vedevo che queste frasi erano sempre in revisione,scrivo un'altra mail a Robson, oggi ricevo un'altra mail e mi dicono devi ripetere altre 75 frasi, ma io non ripeterò altre 75 frasi per questi imbroglioni truffatori, ho capito il loro sporco gioco non perdero' ancora il mio tempo per il loro guadagno gratis sul tempo degli altri.Quando leggete Robson A.I. non iscrivetevi e se vedete che qualcuno vorrebbe provarci , dissuatetelo dal farlo facendole leggere le cattive e veritiere recensioni che ci sono qui e su tutte le altre che pubblicherò su Facebook e tutte le altre piattaforme dove pubblicheranno i loro annunci per attirare le persone nel loro imbroglio e falsa promessa! Tutti lontani da Robson, sono ladri e disonesti e pessimi!

There are many clever ones on the web, one of them is called "Robson A.I." I say this because: I had participated in vocal recordings, the first time 75 vocal recordings for the low price of $6.5 (played back one by one, recorded very well as they requested with background silence, no noise, clear voice, in a few perfect words), they don't pay me (the review, they say was about 10 days) I write an email and since the famous 10 days for the review had passed, they answer me that I had to repeat 25 sentences because I could record badly with noises and hums of background (which is somewhat false as listened to with headphones they were perfectly recorded), ok I record 25 sentences again, and I saw that these sentences were always being revised, I write another email to Robson, today I receive another email and they tell me you must repeat 75 more sentences, but i won't repeat 75 more sentences for these cheaters scammers, i understand their dirty game i won't waste my time again for their free money on other people's time.When you read Rob I'm A.I. do not subscribe and if you see that someone would like to try, dissuade them from doing so by making them read the bad and true reviews that are here and on all the others that I will publish on Facebook and all the other platforms where they will publish their ads to attract people to their scam and false promise! All far from Robson, they are thieves and dishonest and very bad!

Don't waste your time, They'll send your audios to re record every time no matter what you do, also I only get paid $3 one time, now I didn't get my second and third payment task is accepted no reply from support, Don't waste your time on this spam app better to learn from my experience.

I have been scammed! I trusted robson and completed task and thought I got an amazon gift card of $30, just to find out that it was an invalid card and upon my requesting them to send an invalid card, they ghosted me. Pathetic way of wasting someones time.

The platform itself, like many of this type, is technically legitimate. The problem is that the platform basically acts as a mean to connect you to researchers, and the researchers themselves can be honest or dishonest. As anyone who's worked with researchers more generally on sites like Prolific or Mturk knows, that can be a mixed bag, and it's usually on the platform to enforce some kind of standards so that contributors don't get scammed. Robson doesn't have an infrastructure in place for participants to ask for an external review if they believe a researcher is treating them unfairly, which means researchers can more or less do whatever they want. That in itself bodes poorly, but in my experience, AI researchers in particular are some of the most unscrupulous and unethical researchers around. Are you really surprised that the industry that exploits data wherever they can without permission or compensation as a rule is going to be unethical in dealing with you and try to scam you out of as much data as possible for as little as they can possibly pay you--which will be nothing some of the time.

I ran into the same problem on LabelDocs, another site where you produce data for AI. LabelDocs does handwriting, Robson does voice recordings. A few researchers on LabelDocs actually paid, but many would make up obviously false reasons for rejecting you (like claiming you didn't write all the words they told you to, when you objectively absolutely did, or saying it was a low-quality photo when I didn't use a camera, I used a flatbed scanner) and kept your data without paying you a dime. The researcher I provided data for on Robson was pulling the same scam. After recording the same phrase 25 times, I was told to re-record all 25 of them. The researcher claimed my recordings had background noise, were too quiet, and that I was too close to the mic. I recorded them in a bone-quiet basement at 3 AM, using a high-end gaming headset. I listened to my own audio, I wasn't quiet, I was clearly audible. All my friends that I talk to with this headset say the audio is clear and high quality. Since it is a headset, it isn't possible to be "too close" to the mic, the mic is attached to the headset at an optimal distance. This is all not only higher audio quality than a wake phrase would be "in the wild," but I guarantee you it's higher quality than most people just talking into their phone mics. As if I couldn't tell what they were pulling. They didn't want to pay $4 for 25 recordings, they wanted to bait with that, and see how many recordings they could get--50, 75, 100, more? Whether they would actually pay the $4, or ultimately keep asking for revisions until I gave up or my time ran out, or find a spurious excuse to reject me that I'd have no way to appeal, I don't know, and I didn't mess around to find out. I've literally seen this exact scam before. As Amy from Futurama said, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me eight or more times, shame on me!"

That's the thing with data for AI research--they need a LOT of it. And they can't afford it. So they have to steal it. AI is only possible with theft, including intellectual property theft (the artstation artists who get their work literally plagiarized down to the signature by image-generating AIs, having given no permission and having been offered no compensation) or wage theft, like LabelDocs or Robson. And Robson's lack of arbitration between participants and researchers makes it clear that they see participants as burn & churn resources for the researchers to exploit as they see fit. All a researcher has to do was claim your data was "low quality," without proof, evidence, even if blatantly untrue, without possibility of a third party reviewing your contributions to see if their claims held any merit or not, and they can withhold wages demanding more work, indefinitely--with no limit on how much more work they can ask of you for the same pay, which they are under no obligation to ever give you. By the end of it you are working for free and just praying they're merciful and decide to eventually pay you for what is now a fraction of the hourly rate you initially agreed to. And you have no recourse or protections against that from the Robson platform itself.

This isn't a "scam" in the sense that they're going to take your money or steal your identity or anything ultra shady like that. It's a real work platform, and some people really do get paid. There's a chance you could get paid on it. But you will do a lot of work for free and get exploited and jerked around, too. And it seems to be getting worse over time, as these sites do. The previous review said you make $15 a task--my task only offered $4, which I never got and was likely never going to get. I've deleted the app. I cannot recommend this site or app to anyone.

I've been using this app for less than a month and already made $30. It's very simple to use and does not take long to complete a provided task. Each task pays $15 which is amazing because they don't take long to finish. My first assignment only made me record 1 minute and got paid $15 for it. I highly recommend this app if you are into voice recordings to get paid!
