Im old! I am not a fan of buying stuff online, so i love going instore to the Lower Hutt store and talk to the staff about gear i want to buy and walk out the door with it.

It makes the world of difference when i can walk in and talk about what i want to do

Walked into the store and I was greeted as usual by the friendly team there. I asked for the guitar I wanted and I was presented with the carry case option specific to the guitar in hand which was great. 5 minutes later I left with the package I always wanted to have.

I have been purchasing gear from Napier Rock Shop for approximately 4 years and have returned agai and again spending approximately $20,000 to date. The staff and management are always attentive, friendly and sociable whenever I or my wife visit the shop. Whenever we visit, telephone or email the Napier Rockshop we are given the attention and personalised service that makes us feel content and that we have the full attention of management and staff.
Consequently we continue to be repeat customers.

I purchased my Epiphone J-200 EC Jumbo semi-acoustic from Henderson. I was planning on the Hummingbird, but the shop assistant kindly showed me a selection, for me to try out. I found this guitar, a delight to play, sounded great and had a great feel. The only thing I would have appreciated, was a carrying bag, rather than just taking it out of the shop as it came off the rack.

I have been a long time customer of these guys at Hamilton and they always offer great service and excellent thoughtful advice from experts in theirnown area

Great customer service. Really know there stuff

Staff are great, always kind and willing to help. Whilst pretty knowledgeable in their areas and interests, there are some gaps in product knowledge and they are often not knowledgeable in areas outside their specialty. I would recommend providing more training for staff in product knowledge.
Managers are lacking in many areas. Untidy and unorganised areas, too much product in one place, not enough in another, don't get me started on organising the drum stick racks, categorizing the cymbal displays, or making it easy to find anything.
National ordering systems are not good at all, long wait times to get product sent from other stores, unacceptable wait times to order from overseas.
Products are not uniformly shared throughout country. For example, you can hardly ever find the same drum head for full range of drum sizes in the same store, drum sticks never seem be replaced after being sold out making it very hard to replace like for like.
However, I'll keep going back because; staff are genuinely awesome, they license the gear I love, and they do a bloody good job with what they have. They work damn hard to do what they can in a very difficult industry and I really appreciate them.
I just wish they'd spend a bit more on training, especially the managers who need some basic house cleaning and customer service skills.
