Appalling Standards

RC is the worst company I have ever hired to clean my apartment.
I required “after refurbishment” clean and I was very specific and detailed in my communications with them when negotiating the price.
All details were agreed and I received the specification via email prior to the service.
The two operatives turned up 40 minutes late.
They were supposed to clean windows including window frames - all they cleaned was the glass, they did not even touch window frames.
It was agreed that they will clean all kitchen cupboards inside and on the top - some cupboards inside were not even touched, I found plenty of dust on the shelves and on the hinges. They claimed that they are unable to clean top of the cupboards as they did not have ladder with them.
The new appliances were supposed to be wiped inside and outside - the cleaning operatives did not even bother to open them.
The shower glass in the bathroom was left filthy.
When I pointed these out to the cleaning operatives and asked them to rectify it, the male operative (who by the way looked under age, I was unable to verify it as they arrived without any form of ID, not even wearing companies uniforms) became aggressive, answered me back using F… word, dropped mop stick on my newly installed floor and walked away from the flat.
The female operative also became verbally abusive towards me and when I asked her to leave my place, she refused to do so asking for her payment.
I had to call the police services and eventually she left my apartment.
When I reported the incident to the RC office, I started to receive numerous amount of phone calls from different people trying to scare me that due to fact that I breached the contract, I will be taken to court. All they cared about was their payment. They did not care at all to investigate the matter further to ensure such incidents would not happen again in the future.
I heard female cleaning operative mentioning to the police officers that she wasn’t employed by RC directly and that she was only their sub - contractor.
It seems that RC outsource work to a random people, do not follow up on the jobs and keep the standards they promise to their customers.
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Thank you for the time which you spent writing this.

However, as mentioned by you, every story has two sides. Therefore, our representatives and the office agents tried to attempt several friendly mannered discussion over the phone, even though your tone was not very well-behaved.
We find your accusations about our employees being under-aged for not valid, since this is an information you do not have and you are not sure of. Furthermore, making these kinds of assumptions appears to be done only in order to ruin down the good reputation which the company has.

Our technicians are and always will be ready to go with further attention through areas which the client does think are not cleaned up to a professional standard. However, even when we tried to do so, in order to leave you satisfied, we were banned from the property, with no convincing explanation why you do not wish to let us in again, since the vulgar words and actions begin from your side, when you swore one of the technicians.

Our company does not think we could be held liable for a session which we did not get the chance to perform up to the professional measurements and in which the client harassed our staff verbally.

Mattress cleaned

Had my mattress cleaned by a gentleman from Royal cleaning very pleased completely removed stains and mattress looks good as new would use again.

End of tenancy

Royal cleaners carried out and end of tenancy clean for us.
They did a very thorough job and it looked great. Process of booking / payment etc was super simple.
Would recommend.
And we got all our deposit back from landlord :)

Very impressed with results of sofa cleaning

I called them to clean my sofa from large water marks and I was so impressed with the results. I first of all appreciated their honesty on the phone when they mentioned they couldn't ensure 100% removal of the marks because it's different fabric to fabric.
They came on time and conducted the job after which my sofa looks completely different. I wish I knew about their services before - for £50 I got a whole new sofa! Thank you so much!!

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. If you do decide to book them, do not pay in advance, like I did.

I booked an End of Tenancy clean for £159.00. While booking I made clear that this was a last minute thing since we were handing over keys on that same day. The flat had been vacated the day before and was relatively clean prior to the cleaner arriving, we just wanted to make sure the landlord would give us our deposit back. They weren't the cheapest option, but we'd had one positive experience with them prior, so we went with them again. Last time, I paid after the clean. This time, I paid beforehand.

One single cleaner showed up and spent barely 2 hours in our flat. I wasn't present for the clean but came when the cleaner said she was finished. I checked pretty lightly since I assumed in good faith a good job had been done. I found two or three things obviously wrong with the clean and the cleaner dutifully corrected those things and left.

Upon deeper inspection I found:
* Fridge not cleaned properly
* Freezer not cleaned at all
* Under fridge/freezer not cleaned acceptably
* Washing machine front not cleaned acceptably.
* Kitchen counters cleaned but appliances were not moved and there was still debris/crumbs underneath appliances
* Skirting boards not cleaned acceptably throughout the house
* Washing machine top not cleaned acceptably
* Washing machine soap draw not touched
* Under washing machine not cleaned at all
* Sofa still covered in hair, only the most superficial of vacuums.
* Under sofa not hoovered/swept acceptably
* IKEA chair creases not hoovered acceptably
* Bathroom tiles not cleaned properly
* Hallway floors cleaned but still dirty in places
* Mattress not vacuumed at all as far as I could tell
* Behind bed/draws not hoovered acceptably
* Glass cupboards in kitchen still greasy and uncleaned
* Bathroom shelving cleaned but not to a decent standard, there seems to have been little to no attempt to clean the backing of the shelves.
* Kitchen shelving cleaned but glass left streaky.

I called them to explain that I was unhappy with the service, and they did offer a reclean, but as I previously eluded to in this review, this was not possible as the keys were being handed over that same day and the new tenancy began shortly after. They later explained that the faults w.r.t the washing machine were because I didn't book that. Fair enough, I suppose, but this seems to be what they fixated on. They also claimed the cleaner didn't clean beneath or behind things such as the microwave as their cleaners will not move things that are too heavy to move by hand. Does it seem reasonable for an end of tenancy cleaner to not clean beneath the microwave? How about a Sofa? I'm not sure about others experience but the *very* first thing a landlord does is check behind or under things. I'd understand if the cleaner hadnt moved the fridge freezer for example, that's heavy. But hilariously the cleaner had moved the fridge freezer to mop under it. Not the microwave though. 🤔

Suffice to say I then spent approximately 4 hours scrounging whatever cleaning supplies I could from my ex neighbors trying to do what the cleaner should have done in the first place. The landlord arrived and surprise surprise he wasn't happy at all.

After many emails back and forth, the best they offered was a 50% refund (£80). I had asked for £120, which I thought was fair, given that I spent twice the time that the cleaner did cleaning the flat and the clean most certainly did not live up to what was quoted nor what they claim on their website. They are now seemingly ignoring me. This is after claiming that I am complaining about "1 or 2" things wrong with the clean (and also calling me MS rather than Mr, but I'll forgive that!).

Royal cleaning provided a fantastic…

Royal cleaning provided a fantastic service for my end of tenancy clean. Communication was really good and they were able to add on a last minute service for me. We were really happy with the results of the clean and would definitely recommend use them in future.

Cancelled my cleaning after cleaners arrived - had a bad feeling

I booked an after builders clean with Royal Cleaning because they offered the best price by far, could accomodate an appointment at short notice, and also seemed to have good Trustpilot reviews. However it all started to go wrong shortly thereafter. As anyone who has lived in a house after builders knows, it's a very dusty and dirty environment. You just want it clean! But I wasn't sure this was the right company for me.

The issues:
1) my booking got bumped on the morning it was scheduled, due to the cleaners running late. I wasn't happy about this because one of my conditions for selecting Royal Cleaners for the job was a prompt arrival, and we discussed this in writing (via email). We have a toddler so I wanted to make sure the cleaners would be done before his bedtime. I asked for and received a small discount for the inconvenience caused. The booking was moved to the next morning.
2) On the day, the cleaners arrived 90 minutes late. They had travelled whilst lugging all their items by bus (!) so I felt for them. But as I told head office, I felt like a mug waiting around for them, being told they were 15-20 minutes away (twice) when that wasn't the case. I did wonder if perhaps they took the bus because, as part of the discount I negotiated for moving the appointment, I asked if they could pay for their own parking.

3) They didn't speak English so I wasn't confident everything was being communicated. We had to call someone else to speak, and when I raised this with head office they stated some of their cleaners don't speak English and "this is a fact". To address this directly: I'm an immigrant myself and my mother was a cleaner when we first moved to our new country. I have huge respect for anyone who works hard to make an honest living. My regular cleaner doesn't speak much English and I don't mind it for everyday cleaning. For something more involved like an after builders clean, I wanted to communicate and give instructions without having to call someone else each time.

4) The cleaners said it would only take them 3 hours for a full after builders clean and carpet cleaning. This was for a 4 bed, 2 bathroom house. I didn't think that was realistic and it raised further doubts of whether they would do a good job.

5) They asked for a smoke break outside before they even started the job. I have a photo of them squatting outside of our front gate, smoking.

To give credit where credit is due:
- the company did acknowledge the inconvenience of moving the clean and when I asked for a discount, they did what they could
- on the morning of, I asked to speak to the manager to complain when I felt my time was being disrespected. He listened, acknowledged my frustration and listed the actions he would take to help ensure this didn't happen again
- the cleaners seemed very gracious when I told them the cleaning was off

But taking the whole experience all together, when I was waiting for the cleaning to start, I had a bad feeling in my stomach. I had paid hundreds of pounds for the booking, and at every step, the process wasn't executed at the level of professionalism I'd expect. As a result, I wasn't confident about the cleaning I would get, or if something would go wrong and cause damage to the property. I felt terrible for calling it off last minute and I apologised profusely to the cleaners. But, for me, the right thing to do was to contact head office and cancel the cleaning before it started.

And again, to be fair to them, they have agreed to refund the money.

I hope this review is helpful to anyone who might consider using Royal Cleaning.

We would like to apologize one more time for the whole inconvenience caused today. Usually, whenever situations like this occur there are always two sides to the story. We do understand the frustration you might have felt when it comes to the delay or the technicians not being fluent. Our Company has one hour arrival time frame since sometimes certain circumstances cannot be predicted. On the other hand, regardless of the technicians, the communication always needs to be between the customer and our professionally trained agents in our offices.

Having this in mind, we always strive our customers to be left satisfied with our services along with being on top of their list when it comes to professional cleaning services. We measure our success with the happiness of the people using us.

Last but not least, you did not even give us the chance to prove ourselves as the professionals we are. The assumption the technicians would not do the session up to standard, based on what they are occupied with during their break or them not speaking English is quite prejudiced.

Consistently great

I've used Royal Cleaning as a tenant for end of tenancy cleaning twice now and have been really impressed by the price and level of service on both occasions. Each time, the team have turned up on time and carried out the cleaning exactly as described in the checklist. Would happily recommend them.

Amazing service

The technicians who cleaned my apartment did such an amazing job. The flat was literally spotless when I got back. The oven looked brand new. The whole process of booking the service was seamless and the customer service was great. On the day of the cleaning, I was alerted to the fact that the team would be 30 minutes and they arrived within the stipulated time. I can not recommend them enough.
