This review is about the Sicily by Car station at Palma de Mallorca Airport (off-airport office, C/ de Son Sastre 8, reached by shuttle). Pick-up on 11 September 2026, booked via CHECK24 / autovermietung.de.

My voucher states that roadside assistance including towing is already included in the price. At the counter I was nevertheless told I would not receive the car unless I paid an extra ~€70 for "Road Assistance / Tow truck". The agent wrote the demand down for me by hand: "1500 + 70", meaning the €1,500 deposit plus €70 for towing. Sicily by Car's own general rental conditions list such additional protection packages as optional.

During the discussion I called my booking platform. The agent refused to speak to them and would not tell me her name. After about 1.5 hours I finally got the car without paying the €70, only the regular deposit. The car and the return on 26 September were fine.

Sicily by Car: if roadside assistance is included in the booking, your staff should not make handing over the car conditional on buying it again.

Tip for others renting at this station: Print your voucher and mark what is already included. Refuse to pay twice. Call your booking platform right away. Ask for the official complaint form ("Hoja de reclamaciones"), which every business in Spain must provide on request.

Tudo correu muito bem. Os carros são novos e muito bem higienizados. O atendimento muito cordial e explicativo. Não deixando margem para dúvidas. Recomendo.

Vermietung am Flughafen Porto. Wie oft bei kleineren Anbietern, kaum Informationen über den Transfer zum Mietauto, ich lief fast 1 Stunde hin und her aufm Parkplatz, bis zufällig den shuttle Bulli mit dem Firmenaufkleber entdeckte.
Der gemietete VW Taigo war neu und gepflegt, aber völlig basic ausgestattet. Nur 5 Gänge, kein Tempomat usw., nicht mal Navi wurde installiert. Vorort erhöhte sich plötzlich die Kaution um 200€. Zusatzversicherung wurde angeboten, aber meine Ablehnung akzeptiert. Rückgabe lief problemlos und schnell, das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Kaution wurde sofort zurückgezahlt, aber in den nächsten Wochen wurden von der Kreditkarte 2 kleinere Beträge abgebucht, den Grund dafür habe ich nicht erfahren.
Ausgehend vom günstigen Preis, kann ich diesen Anbieter empfehlen.
