I really love the simplicity of ScholarshipOwl. One thing I disliked is how slow it seems to recieve the scholarship money. I was extremely surprised when I heard that I won scholarship money. I still went through the extra steps after being notified that I have won. But still gave not receievd any money.

We’re sorry to hear about your son’s experience and understand how frustrating the scholarship process can be. Scholarships are highly competitive, and unfortunately, awards are never guaranteed, regardless of the number of applications submitted. The “27 applications” reference is based on historical averages from past winners and is meant to highlight that persistence can improve chances over time, but results will vary for every student. We truly wish your son the best in his continued scholarship search.

Almost too easy!
Applying for scholarships through ScholarshipOwl coulnd't be easier! I read somewhere that you have to apply to something like 50 scholarships before you win one, but I probably only applied to a dozen, at most, before I got one. Hardest part about it was making a reaction video when I won.

A Great Service!
I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, thinking that this was just another scholarship aggregate that wasn't worth my time, let alone the subscription fee. But after having been awarded a $1,000 scholarship, this is legit!

This scholarship assistance resource is extremely helpful, and the speaker was well-organized with the presentation. The information is presented clearly, making it easy to understand eligibility requirements, deadlines, and application steps without feeling overwhelmed. What really sets it apart is the level of detail—tips, explanations, and guidance are thorough and practical, helping applicants avoid common mistakes and submit stronger applications.

Paid subscriber/Not effective for high-performing students
I paid for ScholarshipOwl for over a year. My son is a high-performing student (valedictorian, 4.0 GPA, 4.0 concurrent enrollment, ACT 28, national-level athletics, and a 4.0 first semester in a major University). We applied to several scholarships through this platform and did not receive a single award.
I would strongly encourage parents of high achieving students to focus on institutional, departmental, or field-specific scholarships rather than paying for this service. I would not purchase the subscription again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback.
We truly appreciate you sharing your experience and perspective, and we understand how frustrating it can be to invest time in scholarship applications without receiving an award, especially for a student with such strong academic and athletic accomplishments.
Please know that scholarship decisions are made by the awarding organisations and can depend on many factors beyond academics. While ScholarshipOwl helps simplify the search and application process, awards are never guaranteed.
We appreciate your feedback and wish your son continued success in his academic journey.

I loved how genuine Jin was when answering the questions. She provided essential information about scholarships and how scholarshipOwl is an amazing resource to aid college growth. She helped me understand the details of applying to scholarships by providing a checklist and recordings to review back to her session(which is very helpful).

Blatant racism
Wouldn’t recommend using this app if you’re a white dude. Or a dude at all for that matter. You won’t be selected for anything. It’s all DEI nonsense.
