need more courses explaining benefits & differences with the use of a plectrum/pick. I am a senior citizen who only learnt to play with a pick no finger style.
maybe my playing could improve if i did both!

As someone coming back to the bass after years of little to no playing SBL is great to fill in the gaps and help me re learn all the things I have forgotten. It is also getting me up to speed on things that have changed in the bass world.

Scott's Bass Lessons has been a fundamental pillar in my journey as a musician. Since I started using it, I've noticed a clear evolution not only in my technical skills, but also in my broader understanding of the role of the Bass in music.
The educational resources on offer are incredible: from in-depth lessons to workshops with bass greats, every aspect is designed to push us forward as musicians. The variety of styles and levels ensures there's always something new to learn, and the engaged community of bassists around the world is a constant source of inspiration and motivation.
Not only did I improve my mastery of the instrument, but I also became a more confident, creative and conscious musician. I recommend it to all bass players looking for constant growth and a practical, passionate approach to studying the bass.

Scott and his team have grown the SBL experience to a different level. There is something every budding bass player could ever dream of.

Scott and Company have grow so tremendously since 2015 when I joined it is a 'Face' now that some might not recognize compared to the past. IMHO, I see this polished internet presence as a testament to the love of bass the genuine devotion of Scott. I know it was not easy getting here. I have not been 'tuning' in to Scott's presentations in the last year. I hope however he is continuing to bring 'the less than 'polished' at home in his studio impromptu hour episodes. This glimpse of the Maestro in his element was something "big box" schools did not have. Thanks Scott.

Get great lessons here targeted at specific areas, or go one of the pathways and learn about technique, genres, and more

The amount of content that Scott covers along with the vast degree of music that is covered is just amazing! I Have been with the Academy for just about 1 year now and I love it! I have taken part in the Live Lessons and the Accelerator Courses (I love that I can do all this in My Time, as Life can have it's own agenda!) SBL is a really well structured Website with a lot of content. Communication with the SBL Team and also the internal community is great. Sadly i am lacking a bit on time but if you give 100% you have tons of things to do. I fully recommend SBL if you can motivate yourself to learn online. However i still feel even with a personal coach SBL can be a good addition to that, especially because it covers a variety of topics trained by specialists where a personal coach can possibly never reach that lvl, since he must be more focussed on a generalist approach of teaching.

SBL is amazing! The content breadth and depth is unparalleled. From the variety of teaching series' to the quality of production and resources to the community ... its hard to imagine a more thorough resource anywhere. They really focus on you LEARNING and getting better with everything they do.

I've been a member of SBL since 2017. The content and course teachers are world class. I love the variety of study areas. As someone who is not a professional musician, but wants to improve, SBL has proven to be invaluable. The team and support staff at SBL are super helpful with any question I have.

the is the one platform thet covers all aspects of bass playing

SBL has helped me to understand Bass playing in a way I've always wanted to, but could never grasp these concepts in the past. I had played for about 10 years just learning Bass tablature, but I couldn't feel like a bass player, I felt more like a person who happens to own a bass. Using SBL has helped me to actually LEARN the Bass guitar!

Awesome content, easy to access and learn at your own pace with excellent tutors.

I’m a beginner bass player past 40. I mostly played guitar back then, but I had this friend that made me love the bass. The fun for funk! But also the work of the bass player behind the scenes.

I start to follow sbl through their you tube channel, and those guys reminds me a lot of what I like the most in music: the sincere fun playing and talking bass and music by Scott and Ian. At some point I decided to try.

And what I found was something very comprehensive of a lot of lessons and paths, interviews, interactions (which, by now I’m not a big fan of, but just because I feel there will be more space for me to follow the huge flow of people inside the community of the forum) from how to start to how to progress and beyond.

Surely not all the topics are easy or fun, but there is sooo much there that you can find what you’re looking for: inspiration, songs, guided paths or small lessons… and if sometimes, you want to take a brake and just have fun you can always check their Tube for additional good times!

Worth at least trying!

You can't ask for anything more. SBL is loaded with bass/music knowledge from many different perspectives and the functionality of the site is awesome.

Talk about something for bass players by bass players, you couldn't ask for anything more than SBL!

Great teachers, great lessons and lots of fun! Realy makes you a better bassplayer. Changes my musical life, i am a much better bassplayer, especially when playing in a band.
