Hard-sell, sky-high prices

On October 30th, my husband and I were subjected to a hard-sell by employees of the business Sericin, at 2452 Kalākaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815.
They were selling skin care products for outrageously high prices. They used sales tactics designed to stop you as you walked by, and to make you stay to hear their spiel, such as interrupting (keeping your attention on the product and on them), bait and switch (offering a 2 minute sample application, which wound up being an hour), doubling down (adding sales people to intimidate and overwhelm us), and many subtle social behaviors designed to prevent you from standing up and leaving (showing disappointment if you tried to say no, showing fake enthusiasm for their promises). We finally were able to get away by stating clearly there was no way we were going to pay $10,000 (on sale, today! for just $5,000!) for a machine that they said would solve all our facial wrinkle problems. The salesperson, once the message was clear, turned cold and dismissive as we left.
This hard-sell practice is, in my opinion, the exact opposite of 'The Spirit of Aloha'. We come to Hawai'i to relax and enjoy ourselves, to meet people, to enjoy the weather, the fabulous food and the accomodations. The spirit of Aloha, to us, is important, it is one of a kind in the USA, and it should always be foremost in the minds of business people doing business in the islands.
I'm sending this in the hopes that some pressure could be put on this company to stop their hard-sell practices. How can they improve? Stop the hard-sell tactics, drop the ridiculous prices, stop the intense waylaying of people to lure them into the shop.

Scam at the Robson store

I was just walking by Robson in Vancouver (Oasis Aesthetic) when this lady approached me and took me inside the store, she then applied some samples on my face and told me the products prices she first started with the amount of $350 for 1 item but then said they had promotion and she would reduce it to $150 and spoke highly of the product I thought this might be good deal I should have trusted my gut’s feeling but was too impressed with how they were talking and kept reducing fees. Later that night I went home and did some research only to find out that none of the things they were saying were true and others had experienced the same scenario. Beware they are scam they know how to lure you in by explaining that you are getting good deal and only want your money none of the products are good and actual prices are not even written anywhere in the store I never heard of these products such as B tox and A tox products. I ended up getting two products for an enormous amount of money. I went home and came back the next day to return them and get my refund only to find out they never do refund this time they were All quiet and run to the back of the room unlike the day before when they were all actively social and trying to sell me fake items for huge insane of money. Never go to this place they are all fake

It’s a scam fake product

It’s a scam. I got this product from Oasis store located at Robson Vancouver. I was passing by when they approached me. They did a sample test and kept applying products and pressurized so much that unfortunately I cave in. They kept bargaining and saying here is special discount. They pretend to call the owner and said our owner gave us special discount that we will apply to your bill today. Tried to sell the three year supply on monthly price but I declined that i didn’t intend to get membership. I got three Sericin eye creams for huge amount of money. When I got home I tried it and got a big rash. I had appointment with them later for red light facial. When I went there for facial and share my experience with the product there was no one in store with door locked and lights off. I tried calling them but found that it’s a whole scam. So disappointed how the product they sold me was different than the sample they used for demo l.

If I could do zero stars I would. It truly is a scam .I was in Las Vegas in July at the Miracle Mile and was approached by a woman from Ulta Beauty giving out free samples and complements. She suggested a terrific product for under eye care. A guy who said he was Italian began applying a product from a black syringe. It seems like it made a difference but I was totally not interested in buying it at 1,000 . I could not get out of there . He’d apply something else and then leave . I finally relented when he said the price was 299 with a free expensive gift . He said he was Italian and he was a true scam artist.
The product he applied was nothing like the one I purchased. Went to get my money back. No refunds . Sericin don’t bother saying it’s a third party and not your fault. The product is yours and absolutely terrible and that is on you.

Scam artists-disgusting

After receiving a response from Sericin Plus, I do understand. If I were you and a reputable company, I wouldn’t let these retailers sell your product in that manner. It looks poorly on you. I have complained to the retailer twice and they are scam artists. They are no help. I’ve contacted AMEX. You can’t have a sales final approach with something that expensive and it’s their tactics. They are horrid. Pull your product from them. Thank you

I’ve read these reviews now AFTER we purchased this very expensive product and laser contraption from Luxury Cosmetic #55 in the Venetian. I never intended to buy it. This store selling your product represents you very poorly obviously. It looks like none of us intended on spending thousands and their compliments to me fell on deaf ears but they are so ridiculously pushy my husband went up and bought it even though I kept saying no. We were also busy and trying to get out of there. We had just gone up to the shoppes to get a shirt for him! I want my money back! I’ve called American Express as I found out afterwards all sales are final! No refunds. Very poor practice for any retailer!! If this is the way you want to sell your product, I REALLY don’t want it! I just talked to the retailer again and they said you can’t return it because we opened the laser machine and used it on you and registered it in your name so it’s yours! I didn’t register it! And what an unprofessional way to sell a product. That’s total scamming. Shame on you! They told me I could afford it! How do they know what I can afford! Im disgusted. Saying your sorry won’t make this better. Giving me my hard earned money back will make it better and I will change my review. American Express is contacting you about my purchase.

Sericin is Lying!

Sericin is not taking any responsibility for their products!
The response I got was, there seems to be some confusion. No there isn't! Your products are being sold by scammers and you knowingly sell to them!!
The products are not good, no matter where they are sold. I would love my money back, but that is impossible.
Why would stores sell something that cannot be returned. One is not told that, it is on the receipt.
Sericin is in on the scam, and don't believe that they are not.
Don't fall for the scam!!

Scam at the Venetian Las Vegas!

Just like so many others…the ladies at the Venetian in Las Vegas, got me too. They start off by asking you were you got your outfit, and complimenting you. After that, they get you in the store and just start putting things on your face before you even have a chance to react! I was trying to hurry to get to another store, and was in a rush to meet back up in the lobby with my husband and friends to go to dinner. They had ruined my makeup, forcing me to go back to my room and redo my markup, which made us late to our dinner reservations. They get very angry when you tell them no, and don’t want to buy their products. They saw that I was carrying a nice purse, and had expensive jewelry on, and even said “we know you can afford it because look at what you are wearing”. Total scam artists!!

I was approached by a very nice lady…

I was approached by a very nice lady handing me samples and asking if I would like a free demo from one of the reps in the store. I guess he’s the one used to charm/con tourist at the Venetian. I was onto him when he dropped the price from 1200 to 199. He started to get very irritated when I wasn’t interested insulting me for not taking care of my under eyes. I said I would come back, he didn’t like that but mumbled something and walked away. Please please don’t get scammed by these losers!!! The stuff is only good for 20 min till they convince you to buy.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!. We were in Las Vegas and went into one of their stores. Purchased several products and decided to have them shipped being concerned the airlines wouldn't let us fly with them. VERY EXPENSIVE PRDUCTS! Package arrived 10 days later torn up and 2 of the most expensive products missing. Tried to call customer service but got their answering service. Refused the products sent them back. It's been over a month and all we get is we are working on it. The manager insinuated my wife may have stolen the items!! The woman we have talked to several times is zero help and doesn't do what she says at all. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!! CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!

I was approached by a young woman who…

I was approached by a young woman who directed me to a very pushy rep of Sericin skin products. He started by putting a product under my eyes to firm up the sagging skin. It looked like it worked. He said an application would last 2 months, it washed off when I washed my face that night. He repeatedly said the products were free. He was so pushy. I am 81 years old and was getting very frustrated. He started slathering cream over my face and my son's. I wasn't aware at the time, but my son paid $300 to this fraud. I was so frustrated that I left the store with my face covered in a white cream. This individual said he was from Italy. He was very intimidating. It was an awful experience and the product is useless. I would like very much to get my son's $300 back. It's a scam.

Read reviews before you buy… I wish I had read the reviews before I bought eye lift cream but the sales guy didn’t give me time to check reviews. The demo at Vegas was impressive but after using product at night around eyes and eye lids it felt very dry and tight not same as my usual eye moisturizer. I washed my face in the morning and eyes felt extra dry. I will use for 5-7 days as he told me but not sure I will get a refund. I paid $150 but I see another review where they paid $100. Was I ripped off? I told myself I wouldn’t get suckered again but I did!! Ugh! Don’t, don’t buy until you read reviews!

I wish I had read some of the tests…

I wish I had read some of the tests done on this product before paying such a high price for something that is only aggressive sales and fancy packaging. The Peeling gel is nothing but the gel ballin up perhaps with a bit of surface dead skin. It is not as its projected. There are studies done on this product and it is not as they have you believe. Most of the result is simply the product turning into another form as you rub and activate it by heat from your hands. You can get the same effect mixing some brown sugar and honey on your face and likely it would be more beneficial. The hand and body cream is runny doesn't give you a feeling that it is anything special. The nail buffer was thrown in as a gift and I can attest that although it shines the nail plate it also thins the nail which results in flaking and breakage. For the money and the hype I give this product a fail. There are much better products out there without the expense and the pushy sales pitch. Never once did the saleswoman talk about the product or its benefits. The whole sales pitch was pushing the product and bringing the price down a bit each time I resisted the sale. It was all about the money and interesting how something that is supposed to be so good can be brought down in value with an extra tube of cream or reducing the price. The whole sales venture was a turnoff just because it was only to try and get as much money to complete a sale. The pressure of settling on a price was very stressful and called a tough cookie by the saleswoman for putting up the resistance. Never again!!

Great customer service. I had issue with my order when I received it. They answered my email immediately and resolved the issue immediately. I ordered the revival eye cream and love it. Firms up under eye and reduces appearance of lines.

I wish I had read the reviews before I bought anything, but the sales people don’t give you time to do that. If they actually sold you what the put on your face in the store I would be thrilled because it worked great there. Whatever they sold me is not the same! It feels ok, but it doesn’t even begin to fix bags under the eyes or wrinkles. What a waste of money. Don’t don it!!

just okay...

Bought in Vegas as I was looking for new skincare products and had the extra money to blow since I was on vacation. I got the night cream and the exfoliating stuff. The night cream is nice and absorbs well, but honestly, the other stuff is just not great. I have extremely dry skin and thought this might help but it didn't do much. I didn't get scammed for as much as some, but $160 is still a hefty price for a "just okay" product. I will use this stuff up but I've had it for over a month now and I'm not seeing a lot of change.

SCAM DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

If there was zero stars I would choose it. This is the biggest scam anyone could ever fall for. The eye cream worked instantly in the store, but the cream I bought and took home was brown, not the same color in the store and I refuse to even put it on my eyes. The “owner” Giovanni as he calls himself…garbage! He gave me “his phone” number and promised me a two year program with two years worth of products and the LED wrinkle remover for $7,300. He never answered any text or call I ever made to him, it went straight to voicemail. I was on a work trip while the stuff was delivered and I didn’t get it, although after reading reviews I don’t want it anyways. I am now out of $7,300 and no product. I have another dispute in with my bank and to my luck I most likely won’t get any of my money back. This place is straight trash!
