Due to refurbishment of our house I was forced to seek for storage, after going to all self-storages in and a round Kingston to get the best deal, I came to realise Shurgard not only had the best deal/prices, they had the best customer service. The gentlemen at the reception "Kaz & Chris" were kind enough to look after my son while I was off loading my goods. So greatful to their help and I recommend this guys over any other places in and around Kingston.... 🙏🙏🙏

Popped into surbiton to speak to a member of staff. Kaz greeted us at the front desk and showed us the units available; he was very informative and very helpful!

Chris was clear and very helpful, giving a choice of storage locations and making absolutely sure that we selected the correct size and type of unit. The (potentially stressful) start of a house move was made easy and pleasant. Thoroughly recommend.

Kaz was very helpful.

I took a unit out in January 2024 and the cost was £73, which is a reasonalbe amount for the space I had. In September 2024 this suddenly increased to £81.02. I called up to ask why my unit was increasing by around 10% and was told: I know, I have told the manager about this, but he keeps doing it. Then in September 2025 it was increased again to £93.18, which is about 15%. I felt like I was being taken for a fool by these unneccessarily large increases. Inflation is currently 3.8%, so I am not sure why there is a need for these huge increases. I think there is something quite deceptive about the way Shurguard Surbiton are behaving. I have since moved to a competitor and do not feel like a cash cow for Shurgard any more.

My experience was quite bad actually. I had a really unfriendly staff member at the desk who had a lot of attitude, every question I asked they acted like I was being annoying and inconvenient and that I should know what I’m doing. I tried to work out how to get into the door system by myself as I didn’t want to interact with the staff member but found I couldn’t as it was the first time I’d been there and didn’t know how to use the doors or where to go. So I had to go back and ask, again met with quite an attitude to which I got quite annoyed and had to say something. They eventually did help me, but it was quite an unpleasant experience, especially as a first time customer, I expected at least a little intro to where everything was and how to use the app entry system. I’ve had a better experience at another storage unit company that I use, so I am considering to stay with them and leave Shurgard once this month is up.

The app to get into the place is really flakey. Have sometimes had to give up.
And they put the price up by 20% very quickly after signing on with the original deal.

So far so good. Only just started using, but the booking, check in and access etc were all really straightforward.

Shurgard Surbiton offers access beyond office hours which was one of the main reasons of choosing that facility. The 1st month for £1 is also a great selling point. A huge thanks for Valter at Shurgard Surbiton who was very kind and helpful to ease a stressful day. The only downside is the fact the storage is only accessible via the app which I was unable to download on my phone. Shurgard should provide alternative ways to grant access to the facility that customers have paid for.

Staff are helpful and considerate of ones needs and explained the before and during process of renting out the storage unit with care. Really great storage place to use as well as great prices.

Terrible experience with local staff, who are rude, unmotivated and unaware of the very basics of customers service. I am using this service for a few months, only because I have no alternatives
