They are a scam. Asking applicants to pay $15

Trying to take advantage of people.

Predatory company. Use my details from a job application at some point. Sent me an email saying that I received a technical interview, and then asking that I have to pay £12 to complete it.

Morally wrong and got my hopes up. Shame on you.

I received an email invitation from Skivyy (from someone named Kijona) for a 'Junior Data Analyst job opportunity'. The email stated that I needed to complete a technical assessment within 6–8 hours, which created immediate pressure. However, when I clicked the provided link, I was taken to a page requiring me to pay £12 GBP to even access the 45-minute 'Data Analyst assessment test'. Only after payment would the 24-hour completion window begin.
This practice feels highly misleading and unethical. Legitimate employers and recruitment platforms do not charge candidates money to apply for jobs or take skills assessments. The initial email presented it as a standard job-related technical test, but in reality, it’s a paid certification scheme disguised as a job opportunity.
There was no mention of any fee in the invitation email, and no actual job description or employer name was provided — only a generic promise of 'unlocking opportunities' after purchasing the certification.
This appears to be a way to profit from desperate job seekers by selling low-value certifications under the guise of recruitment. I strongly advise others to avoid Skivyy and treat any such invitation requiring upfront payment with extreme caution.

They're either a scam or a grift.

I applied to a job posting through LinkedIn, which took me to Skivyy as the application-hosting service for "Aura Marketing Group". Five days later, I get an email in the middle of the night U.S. time (note: not middle of the night in other countries) saying that I've been "personally invited" to complete an assessment. The link just takes you to the certification page asking you to pay $15 for their certification. No mention of the benefit to this specific employer, just that it'll make you stand out to other employers. No legitimate employer would ask you to pay for an application. At worst they would give you their own assessment, or just reject you outright.

If it was legitimate, I would expect a fee-waiver code. They did not offer this. It's a scam, at best.

I applied on LinkedIn for “Junior JavaScript Developer” at Aura Marketing Group. A few days later, I received emails from a platform called Skivyy about a completely different role (“Junior Interactive JavaScript Developer” at Ravencoin Foundation)—a company I never applied to.

Skivyy then asked me to complete a 45-minute assessment behind a £12 paywall with less than 24 hours to finish. The mismatched company and job title, unsolicited platform, and payment requirement are major red flags.

No legitimate employer charges candidates to take a coding test. Exercise caution and don’t waste your time or money.
