The Slate Workshop Opiniones

Ben created a lovely plaque for me! The process was quick and delivery was included in the price. It came out beautifully and I'd definitely use Ben's service again.

Ben was excellent at designing our slate house sign and we are delighted with the results!

I purchased a slate memorial plaque in November 2023. Excellent communication (as we tweaked the design of the plaque), and I then received a really quality item - the slate and the engraving were both superb. Highly recommended! Thank you Ben

Great experience and great service. I emailed on Tuesday asking if he could do one for us by Friday morning as we were driving to London and would like to pick it up on the way. In a short while I had an image of what it would look like and it was exactly what I wanted. Ready on Friday as promised. I was very impressed by how well it turned out. I would highly recommend the Slate Workshop to anyone needing something special.

Lovely product, first class service. I needed to replace a damaged sign for our neighbours and Ben achieved this beautifully. He responded very swiftly to all my email queries and the sign arrived sooner than quoted. We are very pleased with the result and will be returning to him in due course for a new sign for our own property.

We ordered a slate plaque with our house name in Celtic font. Very efficient and swift service. Quality materials and workmanship. Most pleased, would certainly recommend to others.

From ordering our house number with Ben everything went well.
The house number is fabulous the quality is too a high standard, I would highly recommend The Slate Company

Ben’s work exceeded all expectations. It is stylish and so meticulously inscribed. The plaque arrived punctually and extremely well wrapped. I am a very happy customer and would recommend everyone to look no further - as Ben even helped me to design the plaque. He obviously has a very good eye and feeling for anything to do with slate.

Ben is brilliant really on the ball and fast answer questions

Recommended by best friend of Ann’s ex husband to get a new name plate for the house in Sketty. 100 💯 recommend this guy

Delighted with the very high quality of the Welsh slate house sign, the clear engraving done with care and the excellent pre and post sales correspondence. These signs are not the cheapest but, in my opinion, worth every penny of the additional cost due to the quality and durability. I shall be using the Slate Workshop again and very much recommend these craftsmen.
The fact the signs are made in Carmarthenshire is the icing on the cake .. real Welsh Slate made in Wales!

I working with Ben on a project for over 9 months and at all times he was super professional and always in contact with us. His attention to detail excellent.

Please consider working with Ben if you have a project I'm sure you wont be disappointed
Thanks

After years of using clay and seeing wood memorials rot, it was time for a more substantial material which will last. Luckily the natural burial centre was now allowing slate (subject to size limitations). Therefore our case we had two memorials in clay (or what was left of them) which we needed transferred to slate. The natural burial centre recommended two centres, one being Ben's at slate workshop.

We sent Ben the original images, and asked for a price, and the methods which he could use to reproduce them. Given that our originals included multiple type sets, foreign characters, a broken "Kanye" heart, logos from a online gaming show, it was no mean task.
Clearly you do not expect a 1-1 representation as there had been colour on the clay originals.

Ben produced a mockup, which when we saw the finished stones, under represented the final effect.

The final stones are just fabulous, and loose nothing by not having the colours of the original.

We think we have excellent stones, which like the slate on roofs, will last many years, and fit perfectly into the natural environment in which they sit .

For us, for our case , the final stones are just perfect, for so many reasons.

I have just collected a slate memorial stone from Ben. It’s fantastic. Ben was really helpful with artwork creation and producing an ‘out of the ordinary’ memorial plaque to my specifications for my late parents. The workmanship was superb. I particularly wanted Welsh slate and a local craftsman as my father was born in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend.

Ben was so patient and helpful and always quick to respond to our numerous requests to change the proof until we made up our minds. The finished slate memorial is very special. It is absolutely perfect and looks wonderful and just what we wanted. Top quality materials and precision wording.

Ben provided an excellent service and delivered the beautiful memorial straight to Clandon. It really is a fitting tribute to Sue who we love and miss every day.

Thank you so much.

Ben at The Slate Workshop responded very quickly to all my email, and produced a very smart looking memorial plaque for my mother.

Good communication and very pleased with outcome

Would absolutely recommend the slate workshop to anyone. I ordered a house sign and it arrived in just over a week. It looks great and can’t wait to display it on the house. I had lots of questions about styles and fonts but this was no bother to Ben who responded straight away and helped me to choose the perfect sign. Living in Carmarthenshire it was lovely to shop locally too and be able to display something in beautiful Welsh slate. Many thanks Ben, really grateful to you!

Today I received our beautiful engraved slate house name for our new home. When I unwrapped it I was truly overwhelmed by the workmanship. The Slate was fabulous quality and the letters were beautifully engraved with gold inlay.
I made my initial enquiry and Ben agreed to make it with hardly any notice and sent it in the time frame I requested for my husbands Birthday. Ben you are a true craftsman and I will certainly recommend you and your business Slate Workshop to all. It took us five years to build our home and you put its name in writing for us! It’s truly special! Thank you so much.
