Small team ... unreliable service

I have found it very difficult to understand which organisations have registered my change of address. Several months later, many of them are still using the old address and (when it works) the Royal Mail auto-forward catches the letters and send them on. Don't know if this the fault of SlothMove or the organisations. Their responses say "we are only a small team" so I suspect they are not sufficiently staffed to provide a reliable service.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry it has been difficult to understand which organisations have updated your address.

Although we were a smaller team at the time, the address updates themselves are automated. After we send your change of address notification, each organisation then processes it on their own timescales, and these can vary a lot. Some also do not send confirmations as they prefer to contact the customer directly.

That said, I do want to make this clear for you. We can provide an audit trail showing exactly what we sent and when we sent it.

Promises a lot

Promises a lot, does less.

Only good for an individual, as you have to pay per household member.

Can't go back in and review what was sent, just a pretty but useless dashboard.

DVLA, DWP and some NHS worked fine.

Doesn't do the range of services promoted.

Am discovering services I thought were transfered weren't. Doesn't look like our water supply was transfered from Thames to Affinity.

Customer service is poor.

Needs to be clearer about its limitations (Doesn't do storecards or other memberships).

Thank you for the feedback. I am sorry you feel let down by the service.

At the moment, SlothMove is primarily designed around individual accounts. A family option is already in our development plans, and we have also put a short term solution in place which will be available in late February 2026. I am sorry this was not in place in time for your move.

We are also updating the website because some older pages still reference services that have been temporarily removed, and we want this to be clear from the start.

On the water supplier point, we would like to investigate this properly, as it is usually one of the more straightforward updates.

We will absolutely be better in 2026. We have already invested in our customer service platform to improve management and response times, and we have also increased the size of our team.

I’m still waiting for an update on my question

Good morning Ann, thank you for responding to my last query that you could not find the payment I had made for my wife’s account so I emailed you back straight away and I haven’t had a response that was six days ago. Your argument is if I email you again it goes to the back of the list so I would be very grateful if you could source that email check the payment that I have made. I have given you the details for payment made to activate my wife’s account. Your product is very good, but unfortunately your customer service is disappointing. Many of these things need to be dealt with promptly. We have moved property now nearly 3 weeks ago, everything you’ve done for me is fine but we’ve had no notification on her and my only option is to put this on trust pilot because as I said emailing you seems to push you to the back of the queue. ??

Thank you for your review. I’m pleased to hear your own move updates went through fine, but I’m sorry the experience around your wife’s account has felt confusing.

I just want to reassure you that we have responded to your emails within our stated SLA 🎉

The difficulty has been that the email addresses originally provided weren’t linked to any moves or payments. So, despite replying in a timely manner, we weren’t able to locate the second account until you recently shared more detail.

Now that we have this information, we’re in a position to get things sorted for you. We’re doing everything we can to resolve this, and I completely understand your frustration. We had already been responding and actively working to unpick the issue, but I appreciate it hasn’t felt that way from your side.

We’ll continue to support you until this is fully resolved, and I’ll personally keep an eye on the case to make sure it’s brought to a close.

Works well and worth the money

Really simple process to follow and so far so good, the updates are coming in now - some much quicker than others.
I did mess up and put the wrong details in at one point but I sent a message to support and they changed it straight away.
Definitely made life a bit easier during a busy move.

Disappointing and waste of money

I've used Sloth Move previously and the service was quite straightforward, however, this time the experience has been terrible. I paid £25 to update my details and after being asked to complete questions on multiple occasions, I then received an email to say this was still outstanding. The portal they provided was seriously poor and showed no information, and days after contacting them for support and providing screenshots with the issues found, I have not received any response apart from an automated message. The service promotes itself as something that will make things easier during the moving process, but this has been the most frustrating part of it all. As I had previously had a good experience with the service, I was willing to pay to use it again, however it definitely hasn't been worth it this time.

Need to be able to go back in the forms

There is no way to go skip steps or fix mistakes. The entire form must be restarted. Saps my confidence in the process and the company. All the effort goes into a "slick" interface which has no usability. Form is not the only goal here, the thing has to function for real people. Real moves do not all fit your straight jacket template.

Seemed good at first

Seemed good at first, but turns out a few things had been left out when swapping over which led to me having to manually change those details anyways. I was also told that I would have to purchase the plan again to update the details for my partner who was moving with me which was not detailed when I signed up, thus meaning we had to swap all his details over manually anyways. It probably would have been an easier process to swap all of the details over myself.

SlothMove is designed for individual use, and we only collect details for one person per account—this is made clear throughout the journey. For joint services like council tax or utilities, one update usually covers both parties, but for individual records (like DVLA or HMRC), each person needs to complete their own form.

Don't waste your money with SlothMove.

I have found no evidence that SlothMove has changed my address anywhere. I've asked them to tell me what organisations they have contacted and changed but they have not replied.
As I now do not trust them to do any changing of my address I am systematically contacting everywhere I asked them to change and have not found one organisation where it has already been done. I've been at my new address since May 22nd.

Signed up to slothmove

Signed up to slothmove, paid the fee. Got sent the email link to register my account but it took me to a website building page.

I've emailed the hello@myslothmove multiple times and I haven't recieved a response.

I've left it a whole month to see if there was a response but nothing. Added the CEO & Head of Growth on LinkedIn to try a different route but they haven't accepted.

Do not waste your money.

We’re really glad to hear everything worked well with the DVLA, Electoral Roll, and NHS—that’s exactly what we aim for! On the NHS side, we send your update to your GP practice, which usually ensures wider NHS systems reflect your change. Unfortunately, the Spine isn’t something we can update directly, but we completely understand how that can cause confusion.

As for store cards and other accounts—thanks again for reaching out to us about that. We actually replied offering to help update the store cards you mentioned, even though they’re no longer part of our core service. We didn’t hear back from you, but we’d still be happy to assist if you'd like us to pick that up again 😊

Waste of my time and Money!!

Sounds great and effortless in principle but it is NOT! If I had my time over again I would not use Slothmove again – it is not worth the money!

Gas/Electric took me 2 letters/3 phone calls to get it sorted.

United Utilities – never happened. Had to do it myself.

Council Tax took 2 phone calls to get it correct.

NHS – my Doctor was never informed. I am disabled but still had to go down in person with my Passport!

TV Licence – never happened. Had to do it myself.

Total waste of time. If I could give it ‘Zero’ stars I would!!

Will I get my money back? I sincerely doubt it!!

It is far too complicated to access the information so as to show Slothmove what I had to do to get the new address registered correctly! But thanks for the offer>
