Alan and Amanda own and run Smithbrook Picture Framing. Alan after studying carpentry and cabinet making at college in the 80s then trained as a picture framer at a high end Art Gallery in Guildford. Here he learnt to frame all types of medium and for some famous artists as well. In 1989 Alan was employed by Smithbrook Picture Framing and after a year moved to Walton On Thames to manage a high street framing and Art Gallery. Alan and Amanda are members of the Fine Art Trade Guild and has great skill in creating some amazing framing for your artwork. Amanda having retired from the NHS worked in a high end jewellery shop in Reigate where her love of jewellery gave her a platform for retail and offered great customer service. Amanda has an amazing eye for design and colour and has a natural flare for framing colours and design and will work with you and your framing ideas

Bespoke Personal Attention to detail…
We have used Smithbrook Framing for over 30 years and they are absolutely brilliant at bespoke framing for personal pride of possession artwork. I would recommend them to everyone I know for individual personal attention and the results are always perfect.

Great service
I took in some beer mats (don’t ask, long story) with no real idea about how I wanted them framed. The service was really friendly and they took the time to work through lots of possible options. The end result was superb. Very happy will definitely go back.

Delighted customer
Delighted with the artwork Amanda and Alan created. A gift for my daughter, transforming her Grandfather's war memorabilia (which had been just sitting in a drawer for years) into a beautiful and stylish piece of art to display in her home.
Highly recommended and I'll certainly be using their services again.

Huge choice of frames.
Framing was done on site and completed very quickly. Great quality of workmanship, good value for money and excellent customer service from Alan and Amanda. I won't be going anywhere else for my framing in future. Highly recommend!

I was deeply dismayed by the evident…
I was deeply dismayed by the evident disregard for my property when I entrusted my artwork for framing. An egregious error occurred wherein the incorrect artist's note was affixed to the wrong piece. To my dismay, I witnessed the note being unceremoniously torn off and haphazardly attached to the correct artwork, all without so much as an apology.
Given the significance of this note, I felt compelled to reach out to the artist directly to request a duplicate.

Hello Emma - We had apologised and accepted the error in attaching the hand written paper to the back of your framed piece rather then placing it in a plastic sleeve. On your arrival we tried to remove the hand written card from the back of the frame, but as you were not accepting of this we (just to correct your comment). WE (the business) contacted the artists PA to which we did the same day who kindly arranged for a new hand written card from the artist to be sent to us at Smithbrook Picture Framing Cranleigh. This arrived within a week and we placed the newly supplied hand written card into a plastic sleeve before attaching the plastic sleeve to the back of the framed piece as requested. You arrived with your husband to collect this last piece of all of the framing (which you were very happy with) but as you were both very agressive towards Alan, he apologised again for the error, but you were not receptive to a conversation and left abruptly threatening to leave a negitive review. We have put in a new system where all paper items that are to be fixed to the back are now put into a plastic sleeve regardless of request. As this is the only 1* review (across TrustPilot/Google/Cylex) that the business has ever received we think it is slightly unfair as we had rectified the issue and apologised in person again. As professional picture framers of over 40years and qualified members of The Fine Art Trade Guild we have standards in place to make sure that all customers artwork is safely stored away before we come to the completion of the framing. We treat all customers property/artwork with great respect and aware of the values (financial or sentimental) of the pieces and respect the framing techniques needed for each individual type of artwork using the best highly materials available. We take great pride in our working practice and passionate with the highest of standards which are refelcted in our many 5* TrustPilot/Google/Cylex reviews.
Excellent service
Alan was very helpful when we were making our choice of frame. He did a beautiful job on our collage of photos from our safari in South Africa. We will go back with any framing we need in the future.

Beautifully framed
We picked up our Beautifully framed screenprint today, even tho it was the fourth one Smithbrook have framed for us, we're always amazed at how amazing they look.
Amanda was so helpful and extremely patient as we chose the mounts and looked at many many frame samples, giving us great advice along the way.
Alan then put it all together in a very timely manner and to a very high degree of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Will be back again soon.
