Absolute crooks
Sounds True are utterly dreadful.
I have signed up for numerous Sounds True courses in the past and EVERY SINGLE ONE has been a total con, apart from Eckhart Tolle's "Teacher of Presence" course, which actually was half-decently put together.
They say they're offering courses, but none of them are actually courses - they are collections of videos, some dating back to the early 80s, of the person "presenting" the course talking.
When I did the Caroline Myss one it was all over the place and made no sense. I got a refund. I keep hoping for the best, but I have got a refund on 8 courses now, except Eckhart's.
However, half way through this course they changed the layout, so it was no longer a "course," just a video dump.
All the pdf's, pages of text, meditation scripts - all gone. Just a dump of videos that were impossible to navigate. I wish I could email Eckhart directly and get him away from this awful company.
Furthermore, after the course ended, random amounts of money started being pulled from my account - monies I did not authorise and have no idea what they were for. Despite paying nearly $400 for the course up front, they now want more money from me in order to finish the course.
Eckhart is wonderful. Sounds True are crooks.

I have over the years bought and downloaded several mp3 audio programs and loved what ST had to offer. No more. They have gone over to the tech-feudalism, rentieer class, paradigm, ie. you can only access content you pay for by streaming it from their app. Monthly fee. That means they make you a renter not a buyer. If/when the app dies so does your access to what you think you bought. Same as Google, same as all the other audiobook services.
I would buy the CD's instead but ST stopped delivering to Europe. (Last time I tried)
I hope authors and teachers stop using this service where they too get locked in to this one platform.

The player on the PC was temperamental…
The player on the PC was temperamental and got a list of many things to try to fix it. Surely it is the responsibility of Sounds True to make a robust player. Bought Greater than sum of the parts and later found that on audible it was half the price compared to soundstrue. Also can't listen to the audio book if off line.

Unable to access my audiobook
Unable to access my audiobook. Sometimes I can't sign in at all and other times I can't access my library. The app is truly abysmal. Their chat bot is just as awful and can't even answer the most basic questions.

I had a question about my membership
I had a question about my membership. When trying to access the programs offered, nothing worked. I tried to get assistance from customer service and only received articles which did not address my concerns. When asked to talk to a representative, the same articles were sent. This is especially frustrating and disappointing, considering the topics of evolvement. The company has no integrity, as they block any opportunity to resolve issues and satisfy their customers’ attempts to use purchased products. They are not about enlightenment. They are literally taking money without providing a product. It starts to look intentional.
No Access To Online Course
I paid for an online course. Asked to create account and sign in to Sounds True App to access content.
Repeatedly says follow the steps, one of which is add email and add code they sent to email.
Code never arrives in any folder.
Customer support say just repeat the steps. Same result and can't login to cancel a recurring payment they set up as monthly membership.
Over promise and under deliver
Over promise and under deliver. I signed up for a course that is so overbooked people are not able to get on the zoom meetings. It is disorganized and does not deliver what was promised. It seems to me like they are very good at making money, but do not care about providing a quality experience and information in exchange. I will not do another course with Sounds True
Sounds True, Feels False
I paid for "Befriending Your Inner Parts" online sessions (6 zoom live sessions across 6 weeks period). I need to say, this is a scam. The zoom section link are provided via email and at the second session, when I click into the link it says the "meeting is at a maxium capacity" and I am not able to join. I tried to contact customer support and of course it is outside their office hour. So what left me is to send a request form online and miss the course which I paid for. I have feeling nothing but frustration. The irony here is that the course offered is suppose to be an introduction of IFS which is mental well-being related course yet the experience with Sounds True itself is causing frustration and anger.
Very disappointed with Sounds True
Very disappointed with Sounds True. I purchased a course from them "The Master Keys" by Robert Peng. They advertise that their courses have lifetime access. The next time I logged on to access the course, it had been removed. If they were unauthorized to sell this course, then they are unauthorized to keep my money for the course. I have reached out several times and no one will respond to me. False advertising...shouldn't I at least receive a credit towards other courses I may be interested in? I refuse to buy anything else from them.
I can't get playback in the background!
I can't get playback in the background so every time I open another app the playback stops! What?!? And, the materials say there is a download possibility but I've spent an hour trying to find and only get a ridiculous bot that is no help at all. I am very surprised this is Sounds True. What happened to the company I knew and loved?

Seriously, for an organization that is supposed to be evolved, they are fraudsters! I signed up to pay for a course and paid in full $197. Guess what they did the next month? Charged me 197 again! Ironically with a screen that said one time payment. And I saw it coming on my "expected transactions" and email and called. NO RESPONSE except a boiler plate email saying how busy they are. Geez!!! Serenity now!
Cancelled attendance at retreat, ST refused to refund even part of our almost $5000AUD payment
Sounds True recently ran a retreat with Eckhart Tolle and Kim Eng in Greece. My husband and I desperately wanted to attend, but had work commitments in Australia. A short time before the event was to begin, ST extended the cut-off time to purchase tickets. Before this, there had been a date given where you could cancel your ticket purchase and get a refund. When they extended the time to purchase, they did not nominate a new date on which you could get a refund. When we saw that tickets were still available, we decided to purchase two, but we did not notice there was no extended time to get a refund - we naturally assumed that date would also be extended. Within 24 hours of purchasing the tickets, we realised we still could not attend, despite our best efforts, so we immediately advised ST we needed to cancel, and requested a refund. This happened within 24 hours of making the purchase. ST sent an email saying the original refund time had expired 6 weeks before and we could not regain ANY of the nearly $5000 AUD we had spent. This is not an insubstantial sum for us. Despite my husband sending a long email explaining our circumstances, the answer was "No" to any refund. We had paid through AMEX, and when we checked our account, we saw that ST had not as yet processed our payment, so we contacted their investigation department immediately and explained that ST had extended the time to purchase tickets, but not a time to change your mind. This event was advertised as "will sell out", so we knew they would have no trouble re-selling our tickets. We have followed Eckhart Tolle since 2013 and attended more than 6 of his retreats, held in the USA and Australia. We would like to believe that ST is an organisation of integrity, especially as their founder and front-person Tami Simon, advertises herself as promoting "conscious business practices".Our experience of ST this time, and in various incidents in the past, has strongly undermined that claim, as we do not believe they act with concern for their customers. However, the good news is, American Express held our money in trust while they investigated. After several weeks, they repaid all our money into our account. We are eternally grateful
Thanks to Amex for their great customer service. To anyone considering doing business with Sounds True - caveat emptor - buyer beware.
Beware the Monthly Subscription Bundling
Be careful when purchasing their audio/video/course content: Soundstrue has set the default choice for certain content to be auto-bundled with their AUTOMATICALLY RENEWING monthly membership ($19.99 monthly). Doesn't affect the price of the content so it's easy to miss. All their FAQ info says it's easy to cancel, whenever you want, but there is no actual way to cancel online. Only mildly deceptive, but definitely, shady to auto-select the choice that commits you to a monthly membership AND offer no way to cancel online (while inaccurately saying you can cancel online, whenever you want).

I've tried to contact them. NO RESPONSE! I NEVER WANTED A MEMBERSHIP. I just wanted the cd offered from author John O'Donohue's compilation in one cd.
Contacting credit card to stop payment. A HUGE RIPOFF. I ordered some music one time a few years ago & had no problem. This was yo be a "one time purchase" BEWARE. I would prefer to give them a Minus Rating.

I"ve been a ST fan since cassette days. Their totally dysfunctional app makes it beyond difficult to access my extensive library of purchases, especially since I live offline and need to go to wifi to download
