Spectra hire…don't do it

I was directed to SPECTRA after contacting the Accident Claims Line which we thought were the third party insurer of the person who hit my car, Google scam.
Very nice and friendly to start with but then all of a sudden not collecting the hire car they provided. No-one leaves any notes left on our file. 6 months later telling us we will be footing a hire bill. Very arrogant, unfriendly and unhelpful. Arguing that there isn't someone there with a certain name. AVOID.

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with Spectra Drive, and would like to take this time to clarify your concerns.

When collecting the hire vehicle, there can be delays depending on what drivers are available, but when this occurs, the costs associated with this delay would be written off, and not fall back on yourself. There is no benefit to ourselves in keeping you in a hire vehicle when it is no longer required,

The files are shared between the team, and while we do strive to keep the files as up to date and thorough as possible in order to prevent confusion, there are unfortunately occasions where some files notes are not up to par with our standards, and for this we apologise.

The agreement that you signed at the start of your claim is a credit hire agreement, the terms of which are thoroughly explained in the Frequently Asked Questions which are sent to you upon initial contact with Spectra Drive. This explains that provided you remain cooperative with the service and the claim is not fraudulent, then Spectra Drive can make a recovery of our costs from the at-fault insurer.

If you send us an email to claims@spectradrive.com quoting your reference, we would be happy to discuss this matter with you further.

Be very aware dealing with Spectra

Be very careful!
Go with your own insurance company for peace of mind. Spectra Drive are the bottom feeders of the insurance sector and will lie and scam you when your in a vulnerable position. I was in non fault RTA on a busy motorway and was contacted by spectre and spoke to someone called Matt who, I feel, led me to believe I was speaking to my own insurance company. Regrettably I was dealing with spectre. They arranged for my vehicle to be taken to a compound but when my own insurance made contact with them to remove it to a repair centre they stubbornly declined and said the vehicle has to go to Copart, who are a vehicle dismantler company. Apparently this is a common mistake but they are paid a large commission for this. I will never make that mistake again.
If you do go with this company think very carefully about having a replacement car. This is where the trouble begins. Even if it is part of your insurance package. The other insurance company do not want to pay the very expensive hire charges and then spectre start phoning you to tell you this. It was the worst mistake going with this company and I urge you to look at the other one star reviews that have had similar experiences. Save you self the headache and stress. in my opinion they are not to trusted for a moment.

First and foremost, we take your allegations seriously and dispute the notion that we engage in any dishonest practices. Spectra do not do any online advertising and we explain on each and every call that we are not your insurance company or anything to do with any insurance company. We are a hire company who supply’s hire vehicle to customers who are involved in a non-fault accident. The costs of which are recovered from the at fault insurer unless you decide to cancel and we will then have no other option but to request the costs from the client directly as we would have no instructions from yourself to recover the costs from the at fault insurer. Our mission is to provide quality service to our clients during challenging situations, and we pride ourselves on transparency and professionalism.

Regarding the choice of repair facilities, it's important to highlight that our aim is to minimize costs while ensuring that your vehicle is properly repaired. Copart was instructed as your vehicle was likely to be a total loss and in your case it's the most cost-effective option, and it is a common industry practice. We understand this may not align with your expectations, and for that, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

As for the replacement car, we understand your frustration with the complex process of handling hire charges with the other insurance company. We did explain the process to you at the start of the claim and we arranged for a replacement vehicle to be sent to you which you chose to reject as you wanted to claim on your own insurance for an accident which was not your fault, this is not something we would suggest would benefit any motorist involved in a non fault accident as it will only end up costing you more when you renew your policy. But that is your decision to make. Most people want to save themselves money rather than cost themselves money. I will add that we have not asked you to pay for anything directly and the insurance company have asked for us to send the invoice to them directly.

We appreciate your input and will continue to work on improving our services to provide better clarity and support to our clients. We encourage anyone considering our services to carefully review their options and make an informed decision based on their individual needs and preferences.

However, I would like to point out that over 85% of our clients are more than happy with our service that we offer and I am sure you would have been more than happy with the handling of your claim should you have chosen to stay with us but unfortunately, you have chosen to go down another path and I am sorry to hear this.

I do hope that your claim is settled and that you insurance company deals with your claim efficiently and quickly as we would have done.

After 9 months f

After 9 months finally received part of the money what my car was supposed to be valued. Still waiting for the rest of the money. Also 9 months after I still didn't get my personal belongings from my car. Other then that Spectra is a good representative.

Really good experience with Spectra

Really good experience with Spectra, specifically Tom who was our main contact throughout the claim.
All dealt with very quickly and professionally - kept us up to date with regular emails and phone calls.

We really appreciated the efficiency in this regard as we are very close to having our first child, so needed this claim to be sorted asap and it was, so thank you.
