A Complete Disaster, Missing Firearms, and Zero Accountability

Patriot Relocation Services LLC / Starbright Van Lines was the carrier subcontracted for my interstate move from Pennsylvania to Texas after I booked through Full Value Van Lines. To this day, I still cannot get a straight answer on who was actually responsible. My paperwork references Patriot, Full Value directed me to Starbright, and Patriot is now responding to complaints. That confusion alone should have been my first warning.

This was a military-related move to relocate me closer to my son, an active-duty Army soldier stationed at Fort Cavazos, because of my serious medical condition, surgeries, and ongoing treatment. They knew I was disabled and recovering.

From the beginning, the terms kept changing. I was promised and paid for full truck capacity, only to be told after payment and during loading that I could not use the space I had contracted for. As a result, substantial portions of my household goods were left behind, and I had to hire another moving company at additional cost.

The crew failed to properly pack fragile items like TVs, mirrors, and antiques. Several mirrors were never loaded despite being listed. Furniture was disassembled, but critical hardware, electrical parts, bed components, and TV bases were left behind, making major furniture unusable on arrival.

Even worse, the movers asked me to buy alcohol for them and drank while actively loading my property. Patriot later denied this happened after simply “asking the crew,” which tells you everything about their so-called investigation.

What I was never told was that my belongings would be routed through warehouses and multiple unknown handlers. After pickup, I learned my shipment was being taken to New Jersey, unloaded, reloaded, and transferred before delivery to Texas.

When my shipment finally arrived, even the delivery driver and unloading crew warned me something was wrong. They told me to photograph everything immediately because boxes looked opened, re-taped, tampered with, and damaged.

After unpacking, I discovered extensive damage and numerous missing items, including firearms, ammunition, antique and foreign currency, collectible coins, sports memorabilia, electronics, furniture parts, and personal valuables. The most serious missing items were one revolver and one 9mm handgun. This is not just poor customer service — it is a public safety issue.

To make matters worse, this was a military move and I repeatedly requested certified weight tickets for reimbursement. I was told by Full Value that because I was charged by cubic feet, I was “not eligible” for weight tickets. Yet Patriot later claimed in its BBB response that the weight ticket had already been provided and “remains available.” That is an outright contradiction. I still have never received them.

After reporting everything, sending photos, inventories, and documentation, I got no meaningful answers. No chain-of-custody records. No transfer logs. No explanation for missing firearms. No accountability. Just deflection and a demand that I deal with a third-party claims processor.

I was left with damaged property, stolen valuables, missing firearms, financial losses, lost military reimbursement, and severe emotional distress during one of the hardest periods of my life.

If you value your belongings, your safety, or your peace of mind, do not trust Patriot Relocation Services, Starbright Van Lines, or Full Value Van Lines with your move.
