Undelivered work, broken commitments, and continuous delays and excuses
In early February 2026, we hired Rob Green/StoneCraft Design and Build for our outdoor project. The process started off promisingly, as Rob seemed talented during our complimentary in-home consultation, and we saw a lot of potential in the concepts discussed. We paid $3,500 upfront for a complete landscape design and full build plan as was indicated as the first phase on the StoneCraft website, with the promises of a ballpark estimate ceiling and job completion by no later than September 2026.
From there, everything deteriorated. Over multiple months, he continually delayed delivery with repeated assurances that the initial design draft was finished and ready to send, yet nothing was ever provided. Sensing something was wrong after multiple broken promises, I visited the company’s listed Avalon business address and discovered it was a virtual office location that was no longer being rented. I then tracked Rob down at a local home show after obtaining a partially done screenshot from him.
He was able to show me the rough, partial draft on his laptop screen with some visible errors and further work required that was discussed with him, but it was essentially in line with the same concepts from our initial free consult. I took two photos of his screen, which turned out to be the only visual record we ever got. We were never emailed that draft, any updated files, or the promised build estimate, but were assured the estimate was in line with the budget we set at our initial meeting.
After months of no plans coming and further delay tactics and several missed meetings, he finally agreed in writing to a full refund in June, but subjected us to those same stall tactics and unprofessional delays—repeatedly claiming he was on his way with the money only to not follow through in the end and with no explanation. He only began returning funds after I filed an official Better Business Bureau complaint, sending $1,500 in installments. He then publicly pledged on the BBB platform to pay the remaining $2,000 within 10 days, but that deadline passed with no payment and we received more promises and delays with no funds actually being returned.
A $2,000 balance remains outstanding. We have escalated this to the Georgia State Licensing Board and will take action in Magistrate Court to recover our funds. Happy to share records, texts, and full details of our experience with anyone who wants to reach out.
