Samsung never again
Had a Galaxy A14,screen went blank and would not display,it would still power up receive text and everything else it just wouldn't display it. I knew it was out of warranty. I went to the Samsung website and was unable to use it. When I clicked on a link; i.e. request for repair it would jump back and forth, Finally gave up and attempted calling using the number shown. Could not complete number as dialed on both cell phone and landline.
Finally got thru on the website chat line and then the nightmare started. Explained to the girl what was wrong,she kept telling me to try different things and I had to tell her over and over again that I couldn't do what she suggested because the screen would not display. Finally had enough,disconnected and went back in to talk to a different person. Total time approx 3hrs to get a repair request completed. Another 20 min to pay $76.?? for the repair with a credit card but they would send me a shipping box with postage paid. .
Nightmare still not over sent, they received and inspected came back saying that display screen was subject to water damage and wanted $96.?? to replace and repair. The service ticket also said that it would not power up; also not true. They are at this point considered fraudsters by me, if it was water damaged it was at their service center. refused to pay the $96.?? and had it returned unrepaired. When I opened the box the screen protector was cracked in multiple places, and I mean multiple.
While I had bought A16 same day as A14 broke, I was unable to transfer contacts and other because of inability to see display and lost alot plus pictures in the gallery. Sent the A14 for repair to keep as spare if A16 got damaged.
Bottom line if A16 goes bad will not purchase Samsung smart phone and for that matter other Samsung products given the difficulty simply returning it for repair. Think of the problems if had been a refrig or washer or dryer.
Another company that has gone to the dark side.
