First year service on my Loft stove
Tim B from Gazco serviced my fabulous Loft stove for the first time since installation a year ago. He was extremely thorough, methodical, explained what he was doing and why, polite and friendly (including automatically taking his shoes off when he came into the house). I felt very confident in his work and that he’s left me with my stove good to go for the next year. Highly recommended.

John arrived early, prepared and protected the work area and our furniture. He was meticulous and thorough in his work. Explained the work carried out and gave advice on using the fire.

Pleased with the job, but not the cost!
Only had our stove for 3 winters and previously had it serviced by a local guy who didn't seem to do an awful lot other than clean it, so decided to give Stovax a go. The process of arranging a service is a bit involved, but not difficult, and it was some time before they contacted me with an actual date. On the date concerned, the engineer called, as promised, and gave us an eta (narrowing down the initial 5 hour window we were given). Our engineer was Tim Smith and he arrived close to his eta. Although I didn't watch him work all the time, I looked in from time to time and he seemed to do a much more thorough job the the local guy we used. He was also a friendly approachable person and we had a chat whilst he was working. Difficult to say until we use the stove again, but on the face of it, he appeared to do a good job and I was happy with his work. I do find the cost a bit steep at £195. It certainly doesn't seem like good value. We'd previously paid £80, which included a chimney sweeping and whilst I expect it to be more with Stovax, I almost cancelled when I found out how much it was. However, as mentioned, he did appear to do a much more thorough job and was here longer than the local guy. Also, considering that it was just a service and not an urgent repair, it seemed strange that Tim had been sent all the way from York to Merseyside to do a service, as the guy for this area was on holiday. Equally bizarrely, Tim had been on holiday recently, and the Merseyside guy had been sent to cover his work in York!

It is great to see that you are happy with the quality of the work that our engineer Tim carried out, especially as you felt your previous local engineer seemed to only clean the stove.
Although our Service fees can be more expensive, you are paying for our fully qualified engineer, trained on all our appliances, to visit with a van full of stock. The engineer will spend time with you to make sure we have the fire or stoves full history, thoroughly inspects the installation, strips down and exchanges any parts required, including a free of charge door rope seal, (which in your case was worth £34.75). Our engineers will also complete full safety checks (including smoke and operational tests) and once finished demonstrates your fire or stove working as designed.
As the Manufacturer not the Retailer, we only offer servicing as an addition to our warranty work and only for our appliances. Therefore, when an engineer is off work, our other engineers will travel out of area to complete both warranty and (if time) service calls to cover that area.

A professional job which gave us confidence
The engineer who serviced our gas fire, Paul Pascoe, was professional and amiable. He clearly knew every aspect of his job which he carried out with great care and attention to detail. He answered all our questions and explained what he was doing and why. This gave us great confidence that the fire would operate effectively and, most importantly, safely. We were very impressed.

Contacted stovax Gazco about problem with our gas fire, the glass having burn marks at top of glass and low flame. Jon Thompson came out and replaced the glass and corrected the flame. He did an excellent job and was very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend him.

Tim arrived at the time he told me and was a pleasure to have in my home. He was friendly and helpful and carried out the service perfectly. He advised me of a couple of things he noticed during the service. He was a very clean worker and my house looked the same when he finished as it was when he arrived. Friendly engineer and efficient service
Tim was personable and worked diligently throughout to carry out the gas fire service. He explained what needed to be done during the service and then carried out final tests to make sure the fire worked correctly.

Problem with their product…
I rang the company and explained the problem, the technician listened and then asked a few questions.
A new part was needed and they sent it out that day.
The problem was rectified and I am completely satisfied with the company and their staff.

Good communications, especially when you have your stoves serial number handy. Being Stovax, they have all of the Stovax stove range spares to hand. Quick delivery (UPS) and well packaged but do check they have sent the right parts. Ask for Stephen on 01392 47400
