We applied for a room for my son when the property was own by someone else. We struggled because we couldn't get an accurate payment schedule. For 4 months we chased and chased. It then turned out they didn't have the guarentor paperwork. Every time we rang they wanted something else. In the end we cancelled and demanded a refund of the deposit. This was almost a month ago. I had to go to homes for students to get a document to prove what we had paid even. I just want the refund now. My son is now going to be living somewhere else and the difference is night and day. I want a telephone number for their head office

I gave them a £100 deposit for a room only to be told the room was denied due to my daughters age. They are impossible to get a hold of and not refunding me. Don't event think about it.

Update as of August 12 - after multiple phone calls and emails telling me they will refund me - they still have not refunded me. They are crooks. Don't go anywhere near them. Such a waste of my time and energy.

Student Castle is doing everything they can to try frighten students into thinking that Renters' Rights Act 2025 doesn't apply to their assured fixed-term shorthold tenancies. They served a Section 21 notice on 30 April 2026 with the sole intention of claiming that it stops the transformation of our tenancies into periodic tenancies in accordance with the law!
They care only about money and staff complains that they are not paid correctly, despite the high rents that the students pay.
There is black mould in the building (Lightfoot Hall in London), the rooms are very small and very hot because there is no heat protection on the windows (depite the management claims).
Avoid! They are worse than Scrooge...

Lived here for 2 years and it's a living hell! Noise constantly and the staff only care about getting money!!

I have had experiences with four different student accommodation companies but my experience with Student Castle is the best.

I moved in to Student Castle, Pro Cathedral, Bristol five months ago.
-It is very important for me to know that the company cares about the customer opinions. Student Castle cares about their students' opinions and they find a solution immediately if you have any problems.
-They reply to your emails very quickly.
-There's someone on site 24 hours so it feels safer and if you lose your key or forget it in your room, you will still be able to get in.
-The rooms not only look nice but they also used high quality products inside.
-The staff are very friendly and smiling all the time.
