Hey, I've got a YouTube channel called HellHoney666, and the YT studio is decent, not the best, but also not bad, just decent. BUT now I use Canva for my shorts and videos. So overall it's okay.

It is rather time consuming and complex to get set up with youtube studio as a youtuber, and then with with their related party Adsense, who deal with payments. Generally a lot of forms, video proofs, tax ID's , proofs of address etc, and not always well explained. But thaks to AI I could get clear explanations of the full process that Google/Adsense struggled to describe in simple terms.

Anyway I am now fully set up. I have been going 9 months and have gone from 0 subscribers to 100k, and am getting paid smoothly in my own currency.

The website works. It is easy to understand and navigate, with lots of useful information. It is quick and easy to see what you are earning and where from. Payments are coming to somewhere between one-tenth of a cent to half a cent per view. I think the algorithm as to how it is calculated is probably secret. I get regular suggestions from YouTube as to how I could improve my earnings, but I largely ignore them as I kind of like doing my own thing.

I'm knocking one star off because the website of Youtube studio isn't perfect (They are missing a pull-down menu with every option). You have to navigate a bit to get used to it.

But overall they have an excellent user interface. It's eay to navigate and easy to know what you are looking at

I have a channel with over 1300 videos, 95% of which are upscaled, or remastered to 4K, some have even been upscaled from 25fps to 50fps which makes a massive difference to the picture quality, never seen before on original broadcasts... yet, although all of this content is now marked as "Altered Content", I have been demonetized... no happy

YouTube is Broken and Creator-Unfriendly

I’ve had enough of YouTube. After years of creating and building my channel from the ground up, they demonetized me for no clear reason. No strikes, no warning, just gone. And ever since then, it's been a constant battle trying to regain watch hours. The views are horrible now—YouTube doesn’t push my content to anyone anymore. I used to get decent traction, now I’m lucky if a video even reaches triple digits. It’s like the algorithm just buries small creators.

Support is non-existent. You’re left talking to bots and reading vague policy pages while your years of effort go down the drain. This platform used to support creativity and growth, now it feels like a rigged system for big channels and corporations. Really disappointing. Honestly, if you’re starting out now, good luck—it’s not what it used to be

I’ve been using YouTube as a content creator for over a decade, and I must say, I absolutely adore it. It’s the best platform for creators like me. However, if you lose your monetization, it becomes extremely challenging to regain it. Moreover, reaching out to a real person for assistance is a daunting task. Keep in mind that across all my channels, I have over a million subscribers, yet they seem indifferent to our concerns.

verification dead-ends so can't upload a simple video- YOUTUBE IS HOPELESS.
So I upload my first video to a new channel...it asks me to verify... even though I have had a YOUTUBE account for about 15 YEARS... It then says I need to verify my phone number before I proceed... so I click to verify the phone number... It then says "phone number already verified" ... AND THEN I CAN'T GET BACK TO THE MAIN VERIFICATION FLOW... ABSOLUTELY HOPELESS

I've been using YouTube for as long as I can remember. It isn't perfect, I've had issues over the years, both as a viewer and a content creator, but they are a massive site run by AI and imperfect people, so we can expect problems, no-body gets it right all the time.

I both watch and create lots of videos and it's become my main viewing platform as well as the way I like to showcase my own content.

Apart from regular (and very erroneous) copyright claims for the music I use from a licenced program, it's still my favourite steaming service.
