First class meat that arrives fresh . This is so important as it means you can freeze what you don’t want to eat straight away. Many other suppliers supply pre frozen meat which , whilst being good ,... Ver más

I don't eat a lot of meat - and even less after some bad experiences in restaurants and from shops. Years ago, I used to enjoy mutton chops at a local cafe but it closed down when the owners retir... Ver más

Fatty Low Quality Meats.
UPDATE: Suffered diarrhoea after consuming their pork. Please avoid this butchers.
PS: Company flagged my review as defamatory but Trust Pilot assessed this as not defamatory.

Disgustingly cheap quality and fats masked as meats. Sickening. Is this truly great taste?
Please refund me ASAP for the Chicken and lamb as you have just sent me fat in the name chicken and lamb!
This vastly greatly from what you advertise on your site! You pride yourself as great taste but you are selling sickly fat as great taste!
This is disgusting! I feel robbed!
I am SO disappointed and annoyed as I truly had high hopes in you of becoming my regular supplier.
This is disappointing!!!

Thank you for your review.
Swaledale works with slow-grown, native breeds, and that means our meat can carry more natural fat and variation than customers may be used to from standard commercial supply. That difference in appearance and finish is part of the product, not a fault in itself. In the case of the chicken, whole birds are vacuum packed for freshness, which can distort their shape in the bag and make them look very different from a product photograph taken before packing.
We have already responded to you directly and, as a gesture of goodwill, refunded the lamb chops. We do not accept your wider characterisation of the order.

Fantastic meat as always
Fantastic meat as always from Swaledale. This is the second time we've served one of their shoulders of mutton to guests and both times it's been a big hit. Their steaks and sausages are also superb. Highly recommended.

Great products let down by delivery problems.
As usual, the meat was of the highest quality. I emailed regarding preparation guidelines and received a prompt and useful reply. However, the delivery delay caused by the couriers means one star less.

Thank you for your review.
I’m very pleased to hear you were happy with the quality of the meat and that our reply on preparation was helpful.
I’m sorry the order was let down by the delivery. We use DPD because they are the only UK carrier offering the combination of nationwide perishable delivery and a one-hour delivery window, which makes life much easier for our customers and allows them to make the most of their time. Around 99% of orders arrive on the designated day, so the service is generally extremely efficient, but like most things in modern life, the occasional delay is frustrating and does happen.
That said, I completely appreciate how annoying that is when you are planning around a nominated delivery date. Thank you again for your balanced and thoughtful feedback.

Good range of products. Excellent. quality and good recipes
Good range of products- often cuts not easily found in supermarkets of even butchers. The quality of the meat is excellent. The website is easy to navigate.
I appreciate the cooking tips and enjoy reading Valentine Warners variations on how to get the best out of a particular cut. They use DPD which in my area is very reliable. Been a customer for some time now and no complaints.
