Usually when that doesn’t come through it’s one of a few culprits: a mistyped phone number, an email gremlin, someone on the Do Not Call register, or the classic… not hitting the “Get Quote” button (we’ve all been there 😅).

Time wasters

Same experience as the other one star reviewers. Can’t get quotes, loads of questions to harvest as much personal information about you and then nothing. No quotes, no emails, no follow up calls. Thankfully there’s a one click link to get unsubscribed. Muppets!

Sneaky way of getting me to sign up

Sneaky way of getting me to sign up, offer a quote which doesnt appear instead I get a call from an energy supplier I've not chosen. No options or ideas of whats out there like other comparison sites.
Once registered then try to quote again and have to refill all the details again to get a quote but no quote forthcoming. Will go back to using more reputable sites that offer comparisons for me to decide who I want to engage with.

Instead of throwing a long list of logos at you, we connect you straight to a rep from the cheapest available supplier. That way you can ask questions, get your options explained, and actually get set up in one call rather than ten forms later.

Tried setting up gas and electricity…

Tried setting up gas and electricity had to call up 4 different times. They told me everything had been sorted each time. I never received any email confirmation from them and had to chase whether they actually did it. Complete waste of time don’t call up, the guys working the phones can’t do the basic task. Terrible communication and service

We promise, we’re not scammers, dodgy or otherwise. Switcheroo’s a UK-registered company and everything we do is regulated and GDPR-compliant. When you enter your details, we connect you with approved energy partners to discuss genuine quotes, but sometimes those calls can come from UK-based verification centres that sound overseas.
We totally get how that can feel off, but there’s nothing shady going on. If you’d like us to check exactly who called you, please drop us a note at info@switcheroo.co.uk, we’ll confirm it was legitimate.
No scams here, just cheaper bills and the occasional accent confusion 😅

SCAM Alert!!!!!!!

I just put my number and address for energy comparison on Switcheroo website. After 2 minutes, so called Scottish Power scammer called me. 0333 344 2894. I gave my address, hopefully I won’t be attacked now with my data. SCAM SCAM SCAM!

We understand why that felt alarming, but that call wasn’t from scammers. The number you mentioned (0333 344 2894) actually belongs to Scottish Power’s official outbound team, who call customers that request a quote through Switcheroo.
When you submit your details, we securely pass them to the supplier you selected (in this case, Scottish Power) so they can confirm your quote and finish setting up the switch. No one else gets your data we’re fully GDPR-compliant and UK-based.

Genuinely Dodgy

I received a text suggesting 1/3 off energy. I followed the link and filled in questions on the website. Very soon I was called by ‘British Gas’. A patient lady called Elizabeth gave me a quote. I didn’t go ahead yet.

On checking the quote I found the rates were similar to what I’m already paying but I would be locked in for 15 months.

I got another call today but it rang off after two rings. I didn’t have a chance to answer.
I searched the 01482293827 phone number online and it has a negative rating and is classed as an energy scam.

I checked with British Gas and they confirmed that this was a genuine number.

I would suggest that Switcheroo and British Gas review the scammy nature of what they have created. This episode has been a waste of my time.
1. Not a third off as suggested
2. Automated dialler cut off call after two rings. This is abuse. If you call someone have the decency to wait for it to be picked up or leave a voicemail.
3. Using telephone numbers that are reported widely as scam numbers. There is no smoke without fire. Something dodgy is going on here.

Thanks for taking the time to explain what happened, that’s really fair feedback. We completely get why it felt “dodgy” from the outside, especially with so many scam calls going around. But just to be clear: the call and number you mentioned (01482 293827) are genuine British Gas outbound lines. They handle quotes for customers who come through Switcheroo.
The “third off” text is based on the average saving we’ve seen when people switch from standard variable rates, but that can vary depending on usage and region, so it’s not always exact for everyone.
We also agree that automated diallers hanging up too quickly are frustrating, we’ve raised that with the suppliers before, because it’s not a great experience for anyone.
Appreciate you flagging this so clearly, we’ll share your comments with British Gas to keep improving how these calls feel.
Promise there’s no smoke here, just a few too many robots making the phone ring 😅

Filled in a bunch of info, all I get is ads. No clear and thorough comparison. Tried many times, was directed into activating an account that led to no comparison being done again, just rubbish, just do the damn comparison.
