Illegal practice and scam
They are offering digital textured art notes « 100% FREE », but…. It is an illegal practice. It constitutes a classic "bait-and-switch" scheme and violates laws against hidden or deceptive junk fees .
· The "Bait": Advertising the notes as "100% free" to attract customers.
· The "Switch": Requiring a mandatory, unavoidable "$11 Digital Processing Fee" to complete the download.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as well as the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and other consumers protection agencies, have long considered it an unfair or deceptive practice to advertise a product as "free" while hiding mandatory charges that the consumer must pay. The final price ($11US) is higher than the advertised price ($0), which is the essence of a bait-and-switch. It Violates Laws Against Hidden "Junk Fees", the $11 fee being a misleading "junk fee." The fee is also described as a "Digital Processing Fee," which is vague. The FTC specifically targets fees with confusing labels that don't explain their purpose, especially when they are added late in the process. Because the fee is unavoidable (you cannot download the notes without paying it), it is considered part of the actual price. The law requires that the total price be disclosed upfront, not broken apart and hidden until checkout. They are regularly changing their name and their pages on social media so they can continue their illegal practice. They are even bragging that they have a 5 stars rating on Trust Pilot…
