We have been providing quality fuels to the UK for over 90 years, taking pride in our heritage and expertise in the coal industry. To make our products more accessible, we created an online shop that is simple to use and easy to navigate, with our customers in mind.
Our goal is to deliver the best house coal, smokeless fuel, and kiln-dried logs at competitive prices.

Our History:
Since 1932, our family business has been thriving thanks to the late Jack Harrison’s vision. We are proud to say that our traditional family values have remained at the core of everything we do. Back in the day, we used to deliver coal to local homes using horses and carts. Although times have changed, the memories of those days remain with us, and we still cherish them. As the business grew, Jack’s son Geoff joined him on trips to the mine. It was on one of these trips that Geoff thought he was left behind and walked all the way to the mine! Such memories remind us of the hard work and dedication that went into building this business. As the years went by, all four of Jack’s sons joined the business, and we have since expanded our product range to meet the demands of the modern world.
Today, we employ a team of around 30 staff who work tirelessly to deliver modern, efficient fuels to homes, factories, hotels, farms, and all kinds of premises. We have harnessed technology to keep up with the needs of the 21st century and supply garage forecourts and shops with pre-packed fuels. We moved to our current location at the industrial estate in Milton in 1992, which allowed us to expand and modernise our business to meet current requirements. We are proud of our history and the legacy that Jack left behind. As we continue to grow and adapt to the ever-changing business landscape, we remain driven by the same values that have kept us going all these years. We are grateful to our loyal customers, and we look forward to serving them for many more years to come.

Soaking wet coal.
Delivery was on time however I cannot blame the company cause a third-party delivered. Delivery was not good. The pallet was smashed to pieces.
The delivery driver did not know how to drive the pump truck!!!!!
As for the product itself, I'm not sure what happened but every single bag is saturated the coal is soaking wet. I'm not sure if they packed when it was wet!! we don't know what's going on. I can only make a few assumptions. It's not leaving for a very good experience. we bought early December, it is all still soaking wet!!!! Just opened another bag today I'm low behold so still soaking wet led me to write in this review Saturday 8th of February

Great product Great price although could do with being a bit cheaper the service was top notch delivery was on time delivered by a local friendly haulage company that's been to my Premises many times always polite and helpful will definitely be useing coal shop again

This is my second order I have placed…
This is my second order I have placed with this company for Briteflame 20kg bags x 50 of Smokeless Coal.
The coal arrived on time, good condition and on a pallet, which made unloading easier.
The coal burns well, good heat output and little ash.
Will be using this company again in the future

Worst experience!!!
The owner Steve was rude and he canceled an order for a pellet stove after my credit card went through. I would never recommend his services to anyone . No good!!!👎

Came on day stated, and delivery was in a couple of days. Always request a call 30 minutes before to move cars, but unfortunately never get that. Would give 5*if this were to happen.

10 / 10 Great service & Product
Easy to order online, very fast dispatch. I thought I would try a different smokeless coal this time and I am very happy with the heat it gives out, its burn time and the low ash it produces. I will be ordering a tonne pallet next time.

Great service.
Easy to use website, and prompt delivery. The delivery driver went out of his way to place the pallet for my elderly father where he wanted it. 2nd time I've used The coal shop. I will definitely use again in the future.
