Leanne and team showed great flexibility and understanding towards our rescue puppy, Mia. They really know their stuff and throughout the training course have given me so much advice and great tips. I feel I've learned loads and Mia is responding really well to the training. Thank you so much! I wholeheartedly recommend Leanne and team.

Lovely kind and structured sessions - my staffy puppy improved hugely under their guidance. I attended the puppy foundation course and then a recall course of 6 sessions each. The sessions were efficiently run and crammed with information and the dogs were all given lots of individual attention and I felt the trainers were very attuned to each dog’s needs . Excellent trainers - I highly recommend these sessions.

I attended Leanne's canine 1st aid training day. It couldn't have been more informative. It was a nice mix of practical and PowerPoint presentation. It was a friendly atmosphere rather than a classroom style approach. Would highly recommend.

I have attended two workshops with The Ipswich Dog Trainer, Emergency Stop and Loose Lead Walking. I could not believe how well our 14 month old Labrador Sienna responded to everything she was asked to do, the improvement in her behaviour was so noticeable. It’s true that there are no bad dogs and I really appreciated my training! I received lots of helpful tips and we are continuing with what we learnt in class. I am so grateful and would highly recommend Leanne and her amazing team. Thank you.

Just back from my first all day workshop and only my second ever indoor training course with my reactive dog.

I struggled for a long time to find outdoor courses that were suitable and I thought indoor courses were out of our reach. Along came the Ipswich Dog Trainer who has gently nudged us and helped us expand our restricted world. It started with one to one sessions, then along came socialisation walks, pub training, a confidence course (which did exactly that for both of us - indoors with a few other dogs all beautifully managed to set us up for success) and more.

Today was very special and something I would never have thought we'd have been able to cope with, let alone enjoy - a six hour practical workshop with a handful of other dogs and humans. Pattern games, co-operative care, start buttons, consent, freework and much more. It had many of the potential ingredients for overwhelm but again it was beautifully organised and managed by Leanne, this time collaborating with her namesake of Bonded Behaviour Training.

In the past my dog has sometimes shut down or been overwhelmed, for various reasons, just part way through one hour sessions outdoors, but today, indoors, over six hours (with plenty of rest and processing time in between), she was fully engaged in every activity, managed to disengage relatively easily from any number of triggers and even fell asleep during the Q and A session at the end.

I wouldn't have known what the perfect six hour session looked like for her - I don't have that experience, and I would never have taken the course without Leanne's gentle persuasion and knowing I could trust her to maximise our chances of success. This was it though - everyone was made aware of my girl's challenges, the humans were brilliant, the dogs responded and relaxed, the course content was extraordinary in terms of really helping in the real world, and we were all able get the best out of the course and our dogs.

The Ipswich Dog Trainer has always seemed to me to be a highly collaborative organisation, as well as one which is constantly learning and offering new things. It was great to have another expert trainer there too, offering complementary expertise and insight.

This course would be incredible for any dog and human, but especially the more pessimistic or unconfident ones. If you have a reactive dog like mine, albeit one who has had plenty of desensitisation and counter conditioning, I'd suggest a few one to ones first so Leanne can get to know what might work best for you and your dog, and when. It's definitely something you'll only get the best out of if you’re ready for it although, if you're on the cautious side like me, you might think Leanne is jumping the gun a bit, but if she's had a chance to get to know you, she does tend to know best ;-)

I approached Ipswich dog trainer as we have a reactive adolescent cockapoo. 10 weeks/ 3 sessions later and we have a drastically improved dog! Still lots of work to do but we now have the skills and confidence to carry us forward and enjoy walks again!

Less a dog trainer and more a people trainer!

Leanne was fantastic, she instantly made us feel at ease and reassured that there was an end to the behavioural issues we were having as long as we were willing to put the hard work in. Her wealth of knowledge in dog body language along with her calm approach made for a great experience.

Leanne and Zee are fantastic. I’ve done a number of courses now with my Staffie, Rosa and all of them have been brilliant. Both Leanne and Zee fully understood how as a Staffie, Rosa responds and learns in her own way/isn’t always thrilled by other dogs. They have been great in making adjustments for her, they have never hesitated in involving her in classes and not once have I felt in any way judged, all of which has meant a great deal to me (and to Rosa too, who loves them!). Rosa’s learned so much, as have I! Honestly, I cannot recommend the Ipswich Dog Trainer enough!

I have been working with Leanne for a while now and I have to say she is amazing. She kind, caring, considerate and has an immense amount of knowledge. She goes above and beyond in each session. She is so easy to work with. Both myself and Honey really enjoy our 1-2-1 sessions. Honey has come such a long way in a short time with Leanne’s guidance and this time next year I hope to have a fully functioning assistance dog. I would have no hesitation in recommending Leanne to anybody. Angie x

Bertie and I have just completed our loose lead walking class with Zee , having taken puppy classes with her last year. As before our experience has been fantastic , she is so knowledgeable and the training is always fun. Each session we learn or practice the skills we have learned and put them into practice in different scenarios. Now I am able to walk my dog without pulling . Thank you x

Full disclosure - this is copy and paste from another review site, but wherever I post my reviews for more people to see it, my experience was the same. Leanne is a great trainer as can be seen by her many positive reviews and these reviews were what brought me to her in the first place.
We have a chihuahua cross who is reactive to other dogs and people. This was made worse by a large Suffolk-based dog training group who use what we considered cruel methods to stop the reactivity. Unfortunately, after his experience there, and as a consequence his behaviour becoming worse, we sought Leanne at The Ipswich Dog Trainer as she was an experienced force-free behaviourialist. Reactivity is very difficult to correct in a fearful dog like ours, but with Leanne, we saw results by the second or third visit. By the end of our sessions, our dog almost never reacts to people (definitely a win), and his reactivity to dogs is improved. Leanne was very good about managing expectations, explaining that a dog that is reactive to other dogs may never fully be unreactive, but we were happy that we saw such a great improvement over a relatively short period of time, around 3 months. She is kind, gentle, and knowledgeable and fully understands dog's behaviour and the reasoning behind it. I can highly recommend her if you need help to correct difficult behaviours in your pet.

The Rapid Recall course was great fun for Lenny and us. Zee was a great trainer and we found the course to be fun, enjoyable and interesting. Lenny enjoyed himself as we did.

Relaxed, informative fun training with friendly knowledgeable staff. We love the scent work & tracking courses, we have learnt loads and the dogs really enjoy it, we look forward to doing more.

I am so glad I found The Ipswich Dog Trainer! I just finished their 6 week Puppy Classes with my first dog, Jumble, and they were invaluable. He is proficient in all the basic training and some more advanced tricks and things but perhaps best of all the teacher was able to provide bespoke advice and help with any issues that came up along the way. For example, dealing with car sickness, stopping Jumble jumping up, helping him get along with the older, family dog and detailed information about nutrition and how to look after his fur. I cannot recommend The Ipswich Dog Trainer enough and their teacher Zee was so professional, personable and helpful at all times.

Highly recommend for training your dogs

My boy and I have recently completed the sniffer gold training. As the previous sniffer training this had its challenges for my boy, Leanne did what she could to help him succeed and he did amazing. Leanne is always there for any questions I need answered or advice when things aren't going as they should. This training is brilliant for a dog how is constantly using their nose and for building an even stronger bond between dog and human. We love it!!

I am in the middle of uk gold sniffer training with leanne and zee.
I have completed quite a lot of there workshops, and worked with David, Zee and Leanne, I have found all 3 to be very knowledgeable about there subjects that they teach, all training is reward based.
All 3 understood me and my dog.
I am now a retired training assessor, and find them very hard to fault. I have been to other dog trainers but I have found the ipswich dog trainer to be the best by far and would not go to any other.
Hope this review helps all Dog owners.

We started working with Leanne in August 2022 when we adopted another rescue spaniel. Initially, she helped us to integrate our newbie with our existing dogs but we went on to attend socialisation walks on a Saturday morning with Zee and Polly (part of the amazing team that is The Ipswich Dog Trainer), complete the basic training course for dogs over nine months old with David, and two series of ten 1:1 sessions with Leanne to unpick some of the reactivity and behaviours of our newest boy.
The team have a wealth of experience dealing with complex behaviours and more typical training of the basics. They are also brilliant with the people too - following up each session/lesson with a comprehensive email explaining step-by-step the solutions and training cues. Two years later, I have recently attended the Canine Body Language workshop, and we are so grateful to have their support with our spaniels. We will continue to work with The Ipswich Dog Trainer for many years to come!

Leanne is a fantastic dog trainer. She has helped me turn my very reactive rescue dog into a dog that loves almost everyone! I can take him out walking and to cafes and pubs without worrying anymore. I have had one-to-one sessions with Leanne and have also been to group classes. We have really enjoyed all the training and have learnt a lot. I have also attended classes run by Zee and we loved these too! It has been lovely to be with other dogs and their owners who are also learning, so I know I am not the only one having some issues and needing some support! Thank you. ☺️
