After months of researching different construction companies to build our loft conversion we saw signs for TLC who were working locally and decided to give them a call.

We wanted a full service contractor who would project manage and organise trades on our behalf; this was to be our first project of this scale so wanted to work with a company that would be able to guide us through the process.

From our first meeting with Connor he was very thorough in his explanation about how TLC worked; he talked us through every stage and what would be required and what to prepare for. Within a few days he had already prepared our quote and sent it over with no hard sell or push for deposits - he was very patient after a lot of back and forth over contracts and changes we wanted to make.

When we got to our start date everything ran to schedule; we were kept informed of who would be coming for each stage and were put into a group chat with all the contractors so we could all keep in touch.

The build moved very quickly; the contractors were all efficient and turned up when they were booked to. They also gave us advice about things to consider when choosing materials and finishes.

Andrew, our PM, was invaluable and checked in with us daily and had regular site visits to make sure we were happy with all the work being carried out. This was very important to us because when choosing a contractor you want to have a good relationship with your team as you are letting people into your home for a long period of time; it was also important to us to have a team that were approachable which the whole TLC team were.

The team of contractors were all professional, hardworking and very friendly. Everything was completed to a high standard and the team worked diligently until we were satisfied.

We are so happy we chose TLC - they turned a daunting, stressful project into an easy build and were so professional and accommodating whilst doing so- we will not hesitate to use them for future projects.

They turned a dark,unused and unloved space into a beautiful bedroom, with en-suite and walk in wardrobe.

From the very first message I sent to Georgie to find out about the process for the first extension we’ve ever done, to meeting Connor when he came to talk through what we wanted to then having our extension built by James and his team, we have been very impressed with everyone who has been involved and trust between us was immediate. Connor set up a WhatsApp group for us and communication was top notch with responses made incredibly quickly. I’ve been working from home during the extension and the respect all the builders have given to ensure that there is as minimal disruption as possible has been very much appreciated. The workmanship is of a high quality and we have been very happy with the process. There have been issues and unexpecteds, as there would be with any sort of building work, and Connor and James have always made sure to put our minds at rest that they are in control of the matter. The best thing that happened was TLC leaving a sign outside a house they were working on in a road near me and I made contact and I would highly recommend TLC to anyone who is after doing building work.

We embarked on our loft extension journey in 2020 and our builder let us down which was quite a blow. We had seen TLC banners and cars across Barnet and got in touch. Connor came over for a meeting and to understand our requirements for the loft. He absolutely understood what we wanted and was with us every step of the way. Our only regret was not getting in touch with TLC earlier. When we got stuck on some of the decisions Connor arranged for us to visit some of the lofts they had built and everyone we met only had good things to say and were super helpful.

Connor managed our build, he set up a WhatsApp group and there was total transparency regarding the trades, what was going to be done who was coming over the works no surprises. The team were extremely punctual, helpful, friendly and super professional. Any queries we had, the team were always there or a phone call away to take the time and talk us through or advise us of the various available options.

Connor, Luke, Callum, Billy, Charlie, Mark, Charity, etc the entire team were a dream and they’ve also helped us with the ongoing refurbishment of our entire middle floor. I can’t rate them enough you hear all these nightmare stories, but our entire build went smoothly and everyone who has visited has commented on what a good job TLC has done. We are so happy. We had our loft converted in early 2022, the project ran to the pre-agreed schedule and the standard of the work was excellent. Any snags or issues that came up as part of the built were dealt with during the build and overall we are very happy with our new loft room. The workers were all polite and friendly and we felt that we could ask them questions any time we had them, we have recommended this company to our neighbours

We had a few quotes for our loft conversion and TLC came out as the favored choice and during our initial meetings, it was evident that TLC is the best in the business and knew how to get the most out of the space we had in the loft.

We chose the full design to décor package and would highly recommend the one stop shop package from TLC.
From Day 1, TLC’s efficient team of builders and sub-teams that came in daily respected our property and the people living in the house and kept everything securely covered.
From Matt’s building team to Charlie the electrician’s team, the plumber, roofer, the carpenters’, decorators, and the snag man that came at the end to complete all the final bits – were all super-efficient hard working and always willing to listen to you to ensure you are happy with every stage of the project.

Communication was easy via a WhatsApp group set up so in case of any issues at any time of the day it was dealt with accordingly, even when it was raining heavily at 9 pm one evening and with water coming into the side of the house, Matt came and corrected the covers in the dark and slippery conditions no matter what to ensure it was watertight again.

Bradley the Director and his entire TLC office staff of Andrew, Georgie, Carrie, and Charity were top-notch professionals, courteous, kept everything on track, and were great to work with, no matter what day it was, every single phone call or email was efficiently and professionally responded to.

Bradley was also always available to answer questions and would go over and beyond to address any concerns from start to finish.

TLC completed our loft in a timely manner and of a high-quality standard. I would highly recommend them for your project.

When embarking on our loft conversion we saw many loft companies and one that stuck out was TLC, for the pure fact that they were everywhere, seeing their vans driving around Barnet, during my lockdown walks, so we just had to get a them in for a quote. What we really liked about TLC was what we called our very own ‘one stop shop’ we just didn’t have the time to find contractors for different parts of the job or the paperwork that comes with building your loft conversation. Connor along with Harry and his team were great to work with, nothing was too much for them, and they would come back and fix anything we were unhappy with, even down to some small dents on the window ledge that were bugging me, Connor sent in the Magic Man who did his magic and made them disappear. It wasn’t all plain sailing, but which renovation isn't, we started our loft in November 2020 deep in lockdown, so we did experience delays with suppliers and delivery which prolonged our project. We were in no rush and the perfectionist in me just wanted it to be perfect and it was all so worth it. We love our loft, the space and privacy it has given us, we would recommend TLC to anyone looking to extend their house.

We have been delighted with The Loft Converter. We engaged them for our project which included a loft conversion, reconfiguration of our first floor, new porch and utility room and 2 new bathrooms. The entire team, coordinated by Connor the project manager (who is fantastic!), were patient, courteous and professional, upholding very high standards. They all were mindful of the fact that we were living in the property during the conversion and were respected our space. We are so pleased with the result, have received many compliments and are proud of our home- thanks to TLC. Particular thanks go to Callum and Sean, Connor and team (plumbing) Paul and team (electricians), Vitali, Rory and Dale. We would willingly use them again for future work and can thoroughly recommend them to anyone taking on a build project.

We received 4 quotations for our proposed loft extension. TLC came highly recommended and as soon as we met with Connor we felt very comfortable and at ease.
They instructed their draftsman to draw up the proposed plans and were very accommodating in amending the plans, once we were happy they filled in all paperwork and submitted documents and plans into the council.
Once we got planning we had a meeting and agreed a start date. We had a lovely team (Callum and Sean to name a few) they showed commitment, compassion and are extremely hard workers. TLC were always there to answer any questions we had, communication was excellent and not forgetting their hard work carrying nine 2.6m x1.2m tiles up the scaffolding and through the loft window.
The project to just under 9 weeks and we are delighted with the outcome.
We would highly recommend TLC to anyone wanting to carry out a loft extension.

Our loft conversion (an L-shaped dormer) was completed on time and on budget. The team at TLC were courteous and really cared about the quality of their work. Every one of the trades did a great job and communications and billing were straight forward. Would highly recommend them as a company.

The TLC finish my loft conversion with excellent quality work and five star service. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are professional team with lots of enthusiasm, high quality standards and attention to details attitude. Each individual of Bradley and Connor team are hard workers with high standard, Connor is very efficient and has excellent organizing skills, he already tell us: don’t worry I will get this sorted and he did. Builder leaders Harry and Billy were also very organised , except the high quality work finish, they always make sure we know the progress and the plan. Builder Rory is one of the treasures in TLC, he works very hard and deliver high quality finish. Most importantly any time the company and customers need him, he is there, even in a raining stormy midnight when we need somebody to cover the loft staffs, he came and finish the work with soaking wet on the slippery scaffolding but never complain. He told us: this is my job. It needs to be done! “Plumber Tyson and electrician Charlie and their teams are high standard professionals and finish work with excellence. TLC is a positive, happy and fast efficient team. Their builders, electricians and plumbers are top professionals in this field, main thing they love what they are doing and delivers high quality finish. More importantly, TLC price is very competitive! I would say top quality work and honestly priced. Definitely a five star for me and my husband!

The work was completed on time, to a very high standard and we are really pleased with the end result. Communication was easy, thanks to the WhatsApp group created by them, and any issues that did pop up were dealt with quickly by Connor (the project manager).

All the different teams that were sent in over various stages of the project were professional and of high quality.

I strongly recommend TLC, they are reliable, honest, professional, friendly team.the team delivered an excellent job, they completed the project with brilliant outcome, not just the loft , but also nice stud wall with radiator and door fitted on the first floor.the boiler was transferred and reinstalled nicely.I am very happy with my choice. They were courteous and extremely good to work with from start to finish , Did everything they said they’d do an more. There guys on site were very good , Brilliant craftsman, extremely punctual, They cleaned up regularly And kept our place as clean as possible during major works
I would Definitely recommend TLC To anyone who is thinking of a loft conversion

TLC have just finished our loft and I have to say they have been fantastic!
We had a few other quotes but we weren’t keen on the companies but face to face, the owner of TLC made us feel reassured and felt like they held our hands through the project.
They finished before their time set and we are over the moon!
They were tidy at the end of each day and informed us daily what would be happening. TLC also kept costs down for us as much as possible having a smaller budget and set out plans with what they could do for the money we had to spend.
All trades that passed through are home were lovely and very respectful. They made it a pleasurable experience for us and we would highly recommend to anyone!

Please stay away from TLC. Bradley the owner is a liar and a thief. He has taken all our money and delivered poor quality unfinished work. His contracter JMB is terrible, unskilled workers without the proper tools doing skilled jobs. We had to pay again for other builders to rectify and complete work that we already paid for. Wrong items ordered by them so we had to pay for their mistakes. Bradley told us to get a solicitor he does not want to get involved. Thx TLC for the worst experience

Solid job until my last payment was made then found myself chasing repeatedly with limited updates.

Months post "completion" I'm still waiting for the building regs certificate for my loft conversion and empty promises to sort last small jobs which I've now paid for separately.

I was even asked to email their central team with my issues for immediate action but have received no communication.

This was the third building project we have used TLC. First project was the loft 2 years ago and the latest was a complete bathroom rip out and rebuild. The costs are competitive and you need to have a good idea of what you want. They do a great job no matter what the hurdles are and respect your home. Connor co-ordinated all three building projects and always got back to me as soon as possible if/when any question or issue arose.

Had our loft converted by TLC and I was extremely happy with their professionalism, high standard of work and after care. I have recommended them to three friends who have used them and are also very happy.

So happy with the work that TLC and George’s team provided us with, I was so apprehensive about getting a loft conversion but they put me ease and I couldn’t have been happier with the results, thank you again for all your hard work and the endless hours you put in for the job to be complete!
