DON'T GO THERE
DON'T GO THERE! I used pdfguru for the small fee of £0.99 and cancelled the next day to avoid the subscription as described on the website. The website informed me my subscription had been cancelled but they proceeded to and continued to charge the monthly subscription (£39.99). It has taken me numerous messages (mostly with AI bots!) until I finally got confirmation that my subscription had been cancelled BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO REFUND THE MONEY THEY STOLE.
Hidden subscription fees
The hidden subscription fees are buried in the terms and conditions. Read carefully before op in!!
I also got trapped into a subscription…
I also got trapped into a subscription…
I also got trapped into a subscription package for 49.99. I didn’t think I’d subscribed but they told me I had. Avoid! WATCH OUT THEY ARE BIG SCAMMERS
Fraud alert!!!
Beware, SCAM!
They lure you in offering their service at $0.99, and a week later they land a charge of $49.99 (not $50, God forbid...) on you, without any previous warning.
Then all complaints are answered by bots, claiming charges are non-refundable.
There should be some legal customer protection from such cheaters!!
Deceptive
I’m extremely angry and disappointed. I paid only $0.99 to convert ONE PDF, and then I got a “confirmation” email saying I’d be charged $49.90 after 7 days. I cancelled the same day the renewal hit and asked for a refund, and they refused.
This wasn’t clearly disclosed upfront, and I did not knowingly agree to any subscription. It feels like a bait-and-switch: cheap one-time use, then a surprise charge tied to my payment method.
I never intended to sign up for a subscription, and I consider this unethical and unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this service—avoid it.
And yes—there are better options. Depending on what you need (convert, edit, combine, compress, sign), here are solid alternatives:
Adobe Acrobat Pro (most reliable “do everything” option: convert/edit/organize/OCR/sign)
Adobe Acrobat online tools (quick one-offs; some free, some paid, but clearer branding)
Foxit PDF Editor (strong Acrobat alternative—often cheaper)
PDF-XChange Editor (Windows-friendly, powerful, usually good value)
Nitro PDF Pro (common in business environments)
Smallpdf / iLovePDF (convenient for quick tasks—just double-check the plan/trial screen before paying)
Misleident en oplichting
Senioren, PAS OP!
Beware
Beware! This is a scam and fraudulent website with unexpected hidden charges. On the front is $0.99 fee for a pdf and then hidden follow-up charges. The details of 7-days plan are berried somewhere and there is no reminder for renewal or cancellation afterward. You would see unexpected charges afterward in your credit card transactions.
The PDF Guru is also the same as PDF…
The PDF Guru is also the same as PDF PAW and APDF GURU. All these sites are from the same criminals. They are absolute frauds. Do NOT fall for their scams. They should be found and prosecuted.
SCAM
SCAM.
Seniors BEWARE! You think you are paying $.99 for 1 pdf.
Their advertisement does not emphasize their charges. They hide their $49.99 a month fee from you. No reminders. They just keep charging you $49.99 month after month. When you contact them for a refund because you never used their service, they say it's against their policies. They offer two years free as a consolation, because they know that you were scammed. I would never trust them for any deal.
A typical BAIT and SWITCH. They don't care about quality customer service. As a tech friend or coworker for a better and safer way to make a pdf.
BEWARE!!!!!!
It's a fraud !
It's a fraud ! Do not enter any payment information!!!
The site and description are falsy, and present the fee a a UNIQUE fee, you will pay in order to download just this single file you are working on. Instead of that, you get charge every month without notice!!! I had no idea I got created an "account" on that site, no email about a subscription or coming fees ! When you see it it's too late already!!! They already robbed you of 50 euros ! It's a complete scam ! Just run !
A EVITER !
A EVITER !! ce sont des voleurs !!
1 seul fichier à convertir pour 0,99 euros et automatiquement cela se transforme en 49,99 euros
Bullshit to advertise as free and then…
Bullshit to advertise as free and then asking for money when trying to download the result
Do not do any transition from PDF Guru
Do not do any transition from PDF Guru; it's a fraudulent company. They have taken 2.98 USD for one single file edit, and later, after 7 days, they have taken 72.07 dollars from my credit card, and promised me that they would refund my money, but have not.
Big Scam Alert
I wish I could give 0. Scammed 49,99 dollars. Also one time subscription was not useful. I wonder how can they authorization.
I am extremely angry and disappointed
I am extremely angry and disappointed. I paid ONLY €0.99 for converting one single PDF — and right after that, I received a “confirmation” email saying they will charge €49.90 after 7 days. This was never shown clearly, never agreed to, and is a completely unexpected and shady trick.
This company accesses your payment information in a very sneaky and dishonest way. I consider this a abusive method to take people’s money without proper consent.
I NEVER signed up for any subscription. This feels like a trap designed to trick customers. Very rude, very unethical, and completely unacceptable. Avoid this service!
You think you buy something from them
You think you buy something from them, but hidden very carefully in their terms and conditions, you are signing up for a very expensive and completely useless subscription.
This is fraud.
They paid to get up the Google results.
They paid to get up the Google results.
If I could give 0 I would.
Never ever give them money !
I was scammed by PDF Guru pdfguru.com.
I was scammed by PDF Guru pdfguru.com.
At first, I only wanted to edit my PDF file. After editing it, I was asked to provide my email address. To download the edited file, I had to pay $0.99 — so I went ahead and paid.
However, after seven days, I suddenly noticed an attempted charge from PDF Guru on my credit card. Thankfully, Apple Pay denied the transaction. When I checked my email, I discovered a small clause stating that “after 7 days of introduction starting from October 31, 2025, you will be automatically charged $49.99 per month.”
I hadn’t noticed this fine print before making the $0.99 payment. What’s worse, another unauthorized $0.99 charge was successfully made to my credit card by PDF Guru without my knowledge.
PDF Guru is a scam. Even cancelling the subscription is intentionally complicated and misleading. If I hadn’t checked carefully, I might have been charged again or failed to cancel the subscription altogether.
All I wanted was to download a single edited PDF file — I never intended to subscribe to any service.
The website is a scam
The website is a scam. I used the service to sign a document and was charged $0.99 for the download, and you don’t subscribe to anything for that—you just pay. A week later, they charged $49.99 directly to my account as if I had subscribed to the service. I have been sending emails for 3 days asking them to cancel the subscription, refund my money, and delete my data, but they are ignoring me and asking for all my card details. THE WEBSITE IS FRAUDULENT, DO NOT ACCESS IT.
