Theranest is in the midst of a…

Theranest is in the midst of a transition to a new clearinghouse and it has been an unfortunate move for this company. Excellent customer Service ratings were the #1 reason I chose this EHR. Now you have to schedule a call 3 weeks out to get a question answered. It is really disappointing to say the least and may very well cause me to transfer to a new EHR.

TheraNest could be great software

TheraNest could be great software. It has so many good features. However the complete absence of telephone support together with the false statements about HIPAA compliance made it a costly mistake for us. Unfortunately, now we are stuck and having to find multiple work-arounds to avoid HIPAA violations. Once you put all your information in and begin using it, there's really no way out. Sadly, they missed the "Portability" part of HIPAA and it is nearly impossible to export client files. Further, they don't seem to be responsive AT ALL to customer requests for much-needed improvements. Sorry, but I can't recommend it.

Thank you for providing your honest feedback, we do appreciate it! We do offer phone support, you can call in or schedule a call whatever is more convenient for you!

Our software is HIPAA compliant and meets security standards. I know our support team as well as management has connected with you to help you find some workflows that best fit the needs for the unique care that you provide. Open-ended court mandated group scheduling is challenging but can be done with some workarounds.

We have support guides to walking you through exporting client data - it can be done through your Organization Settings.

We will continue to work with you to the best of our abilities!

Not the same Theranest I started with- so disappointing

Theranest was, without question, a 5 star company when I first began using them about 2-3 years ago. I raved about the intuitiveness of the software, ease of use, ready availability and helpfulness of technical support staff, and their friendliness. I am rating it 3 stars now because the past few months I have really seen a downslide in the availability of assistance, the ease and accuracy of using the software, and the responsiveness of the staff to very serious problems caused to my practice and bookkeeping. The company raised customer fees about 80% with little warning a while back. At that point, I was happy to pay more because of the above mentioned delightful experience with them. Since then, however, I have encountered headache after headache while trying to switch over to a new clearinghouse they are integrating into their program. Numerous errors, delays, and miscommunications have occurred with this process, which should have taken a few weeks at most. During this 6 month time period, I have also found that I can no longer reach their support staff by phone. Voicemails now aren't always returned. When messages by phone or e-mail are returned, the time to respond has been very inconsistent (whereas they used to be consistently prompt, friendly, helpful). Furthermore, this transition has recently produced a problem with my billing reconciliation that has caused hundreds of errors to my patient accounts. Their response to this has been unbelievably inadequate. While being pleasant and trying to research why it happened (they have always been good about this), I have been told there is nothing they can do to fix the problem so my accounts can be accurate once again. They have not apologized for this problem, and I have seen no effort to retain my satisfaction. This is not the company I started working with. I am not sure if they have grown too quickly and staff are over-burdened, or whether this new clearinghouse transition has been more than they could handle, but I am highly disappointed and considering taking my business elsewhere if things don't improve. Such a shame given what a fantastic experience it was to work with them for so long. I do hope they will turn this around.

The software needs some serious work

The software needs some serious work. I have multiple unanswered trouble tickets with issues that I can’t get resolved. Every time you call their phone number, you get 2 minutes on hold before it tells you to leave a voicemail. They do not return phone calls timely if at all. They have a chat feature, but do not answer that either. If they do answer a week later, they didn’t read your original question more than likely.

Customer Service Needs Improvement...

TheraNest has been a great tool to track and bill clients. I gave it 3 stars because customer support has been slow to respond over the last couple of months. They have a multi-tiered online questionnaire then supposedly will get back to you, but I have yet to receive a response after multiple attempts to troubleshoot a problem. I used to call and get to speak to a friendly and helpful person, but it now seems as though you cannot call. I would have given TheraNest 5 stars prior to my recent difficulty getting help.

Terrible! AVOID!

Terrible! I switched clearing houses and they walked me through it but they screwed it up and refuse to take the appropriate time to clean up there mess. Meanwhile I haven’t been paid in over a month. I’m quitting. Don’t go with them. Find another.

I think you are wonderful. I liked talking to you all. Even if I had to leave a message you always called back the same day. It seems now, I have to text you a message and you reply as soon as you can. I guess I am old school and like the more personal call. You always reply and are always friendly and helpful. User friendly

User friendly, I appreciated that I can create customized forms that I can share with clients electronically. I have an individual private practice and this program is cost effective even for just one therapist compared to other EHR's I have worked with. I also know this program works well for group practices as this is where I was first introduced to the use of Theranest.

thereanest lies about its live customer service and when you complain about it, they fire you!

I switched over to Theranest after using SimplePractice for years and finally becoming frustrated with their utter lack of customer service.

When I heard that Theranest provided live customer service, I decided to go through the expense and trouble to move my business to theranest.

In short, they lied about their customer service. In fact, I was told by one of the people I spoke to at Theranest, that they are going to be changing the marketing to stop promising live customer service.

The reality is when you call for an answer because you are stuck not knowing how a feature of the program works, you are required to leave a message and wait for someone to call you back. It can take hours or days to hear back from them.

At first, I trusted them. When I incorporated my business and moved to a new name/entity there were all kinds of problems. That's when it became apparent they do not fulfill the promises they make in their marketing materials.

It's a great program, but if you can't learn how to use its features, it's an exercise in frustration. And a costly one at that.

Wait, it gets worse.

I guess I complained too much about the fact that I was not receiving timely customer service because they sent me an email informing me they will cancel my account!

As any clinician knows, this will cost me thousands of dollars.

The infuriating part of this story is that I was "fired" as a customer of theranest because I was holding them to the promises made in their marketing materials.

In short, I would strongly advise AGAINST using theranest because of their NASTY policy of firing customers who expect them to be honest and fulfill promises made to their customers.

I have asked to speak to the owner of theranest, but so far the coward has not had the nerve to call me.

I'm speaking to my lawyer and state representatives about recourse.

Theranest looked like a wonderful…

Theranest looked like a wonderful resource for my small Psychology practice...however shortly after free trial I could not login with "Administrative" privileges I could not succeed with login many times and many lost hours! THERE was NO way to get Theranest support with problem because such support required that I login to request help!!!! phone calls and emails to get help with login failed and my bank card kept getting billed for $63/month for unused Theranest and Wiley services. To stop billing I reported Visa card as missing and requested a refund of 6 months @$63($378).They credited bank a total of $38 with a rude phone call! I feel robbed and angry--I do not recommend this service.

Note feature improvement

I am still on my free trial period. So far I like it, but my one major concern is the notes don't appear to be medicare compliant. I would love to see an update on this. Also, love the Wiley feature, but again, the goals and objectives don't seem to be Medicare compliant.

I love the customer service so far and most features, but I would love to see an improvement on the notes feature in order to be 100% Medicare compliant and not miss a thing.

This is the absolute worst software I…

This is the absolute worst software I have EVER used. Oregon trail ca.1985 was a better program. It is not natural it won’t let me do what every other program will let me do. I can’t just go in and do a note real quick or customize for what situation is in front of me. Never contact me again. Go rip off Icanotes. That is a great program and it is cheaper too.
