Failed my dog
I would not recommend this vet to anyone who is looking for a practice who genuinely cares for the welfare of animals over money. The staff here failed to listen to my concerns, or properly check my dog over, despite ongoing problems and appointments. My dog suddenly deteriorated with neurological symptoms over the span of 7 days, in which time we had 4 vet appointments. The last 2 appointments, before he sadly passed were not helpful in the slightest and in fact caused more distress to both myself, and my beloved pet. I was pushed to conduct a very expensive brain scan (£5000) on my 11 year old dog (with diagnosed Cushings), and i was dismissed with more prescribed medication and little testing. At this point my dog had not slept for 4 nights, and couldn’t walk properly. The vet (wrongly) told me that he could in fact see and that he wasn’t in pain - both wide assumptions considering they conducted no tests on him. I left the vets in tears, and took my dog home again. The medication they gave did nothing to help, and that same night i eventually made the decision to get a second opinion at the emergency vets. They were amazing, and ran tests on him straight away - within 5 minutes i was told that he was in fact blind and that the sudden neurological symptoms (probably caused by a brain tumour) meant that he also “didnt know where his paws were”. He was confused, highly distressed, and most probably in pain. I had to make the horrendous decision to put him to sleep, i just wish he hadn’t suffered how he had, especially that last evening. - to make things even worse, i filled out the survey form sent to me from “The Vet” where i expressed my concerns with the service provided, in the hopes that someone else in my situation could have a less traumatic experience. A lot of things could have been done differently. I heard nothing in response. I chased this up with 2 phone calls over the next 10 days where i was told someone would get back to me either that same day or in the next few days. It’s now been nearly 2 weeks since my dog passed and i have still not heard a word. I would have thought a practice who genuinely cares about animals would have contacted me back to discuss my concerns, take on board how they could improve for their other customers, and also share their condolences. I am extremely disappointed and would never recommend this practice to anyone.

Kind and compassionate
Brilliant practice. Robert was so kind and considerate, in fact I cannot thank all the staff at "The Vet" enough for helping both us and Smoochie at such a difficult time. We were shown to a private room (rather than having to sit with the other waiting customers and their pets) where there was a little tree with paper hearts dangling from it that people had written memories of their pet on, everyone was invited to do the same and this consideration was free of charge. Robert (the vet) came in, his kind nature and soothing words took us by surprise compared to the matter of fact attitude experienced from other vets. I cannot thank him enough. Robert, you made such a difference, Thank You for everything.

Incompetent Vets!
Incompetent Vets!
I am writing this review with a heavy heart and anger I feel towards The Vet in Millbrook Southampton who failed my 2 week old puppy. The lack of competence and negligence displayed by these supposed "professionals" has left me mourning the loss of my puppy.
I noticed some concerning symptoms with my puppy. Worried about its wellbeing I took it to the first vet to assured me over the phone before taking my puppy in that she was fine. The vet advised that the reason my puppy was in distress was down to a "skin condition" and I should give her a bath. Trusting their expertise I felt relieved and left.
4-5 hours later, and my puppy evidently deteriorating I rushed my puppy to another vet. As soon as they saw my puppy they were able to tell me she was suffering with pneumonia and fluid on her lungs. These vets advised it was cruel to keep her alive, however my puppy decided to pass on her own just moments later.
The lack of professionalism and care demonstrated by "the vets" in Millbrook is simply inexcusable. It was evident they are clearly not interested. They dismissed all my concerns without conducting a thorough examination. It is clear the vets primary concern is NOT the wellbeing of animals but rather their own convenience and profit.
I urge all pet owners to think twice before allowing their animals to be taken into the care of this vets.

Wouldn’t re-register
Have been with the Vets for just over a year. We have found The Vet is overpriced in comparison to other veterinary. The Vets charge £250+ for a AHC when you can get for £99.
Reception staff have been rude during phone calls and booking appointments. Judgemental when you’re ensure what decisions to make on the spot.
I personally would not re-register our pup with this veteran!

The Vet Southampton
The Vet Southampton has been outstanding with looking after our cat Oreo, who has been poorly. Their care and compassion has been outstanding not only to Oreo but to us. I'm a NHS professional and seeing this team go above and beyond to look after our boy has been exceptional. Callie, the manager is outstanding with her levels of care and attention. She has been our gaurdian angel and we cannot thank her enough for going above and beyond to help us and Oreo.
The admin team is professional and caring and Abby and her veterinary team are fantastic. We have clients since Oreo was a kitten and I wouldn't trust anyone else with him.
We are truly grateful for all your care with Oreo. He is not only a cat, he is our family member. ❤

This company is going further and…
This company is going further and further downhill. They used to be the affordable vets. Not anymore. They’re now charging over 3x as much for a scale and polish. I signed out newest member of the family to the plan in march, they’ve happily been taking th money but not delivering the products. I was told because I asked 3 months later that oops they haven’t set him up. So where is the refund for the 3 months I paid and did t receive anything for these payments? Really annoyed later because they sent through an offer for the whole of June on 27th June at half ten at night, when trying to book the next day when they opened they were fully booked and wanted to discuss the not offer price, which is really shady. I’ve been with them for almost 8 years and have 5 animals all on their plan and all under their care and I’m seriously now thinking we’ve no choice but to change vets. It’s such a shame because there are some lovely staff there that are great, but the people running things seem to be the issue. The manager also really discriminated against me about a year ago. I am disabled and have to have a carer with me. The centre is fully aware of this, yet the manager accosted me up on entry, which really isn’t good with my autism, I don’t deal well with being startled. I was told my cater wasn’t allowed in, I said he was my cater and I’m disabled and she said and I quote, I don’t really care he’s not allowed. So many some brushing up on the law would be a good place. Had there been a way of me being able to get a copy of cctv I would have taken you to court over this.
Cocker Spaniel Grass Seed In Ear
Cocker spaniel with a grass seed in ear. Vet incredibly rude and judgemental in response to me attempting to help my dog in pain at home by washing it out prior to visiting. There was no effort to try and extract the grass seed... one look, one yelp later, said that the price would be £400 to sedate. When I questioned this and said I wasn't happy to pay this, I was asked to leave. Elsewhere, they had a look immediately and managed to remove the grass seed without sedation costing only £50. They do not care about animals, only the money!

The Vet in Nottingham
The Vet in Nottingham, advertising in their clinic “June Special Offer - £270 for your pet’s teeth scale and polish”.
I booked an appointment (mentioned the offer at the time of booking) saw the vet for 2 minutes then was told it would cost me over £500 for my dogs scale and polish. I challenged the cost and said I booked for the £270 June offer. The vet checked with management and said I was right about the £270 cost.
I went to pay and was told by the receptionist to pay an extra £47 for the vet consultation! I challenged the cost again. Saying their advertised offer on the TV screen in the clinic did not mention £47 extra for the vet consultation. Just £270 and that’s what I will pay. All the staff told me that they don’t read the offers!
I was then approached by an aggressive ‘head vet’ who said I had to pay the £270 plus the £47. I declined and said at no point was I made aware of the ‘extra’ £47 cost and if they intend to charge this then in should be explicit in the offer.
I didn’t follow through with the scale and clean. It goes without saying that I am disputing the ‘hidden’ £47 cost. Terrible customer care. No compassion. Even when I booked in good faith based on the offer. I can’t even locate a telephone number to complain to head office! I have to write a letter.
The Portsmouth branch on Binnacle Way…
The Portsmouth branch on Binnacle Way is a completely unprofessional veterinary practice - I initially called in mid May to enquire whether my dog can have her anal glands expressed as my vet was fully booked for another few days, to which the receptionist advised that my dog will need to be registered with the practice so I went ahead and registered (we have just moved so this is the closest practice anyways) I spelled out my name using the phonetic alphabet to make sure no mistakes are made as the spelling of my name is complicated. Once registered the receptionist only decided to tell me then that in order for my dog to be seen she will need to have a check-up which will cost an additional £45 as she is new to the practice so £67 in total when she only needed her anal glands done(and her last check-up was in Feb so she wasn’t even due one) rather than advising me about this extra cost prior to registering and querying whether I would rather go to the vets I was registered with as then that extra cost would be avoided - as embarrassing as it is, I think most people are struggling financially so this was completely immoral and I felt as if I’ve been scammed. I then had to book appointment for my dog to be seen as she needed a prescription, so I called and organised an appointment for today 03/06/23 @ 08:35. I got there early at 08:25 and Daisy was second in line to be seen, but the receptionist told me that the vet was running late - at around 08:45 the receptionist came over to advise that there was a system mishap and the vet was not scheduled to start until 9AM. At around 09:15 the first dogs was seen and then at around 09:45 Daisy was finally called into the room - 1 hour 15 minutes after our allocated appointment. I was in the room for around 10 minutes, I asked for the prescription and the vet also recommended antihistamines which he said were just over £11 for 5 days to which I agreed. When I left the room I was asked to wait until the prescription was ready(this was so that I could get her meds online). When I finally got the prescription I checked and saw that my forename, surname and dogs age was completely wrong which I highlighted to the receptionist who then had to change the prescription causing further delay (my dogs DOB is August 2014 and they miraculously came up with September 2016, and as mentioned when registering I spelled out my name using the phonetic alphabet to ensure no mistakes are made). Had I not noticed this, the prescription would have been rejected and my dog would’ve had to wait far longer to receive her medication. When I finally got the prescription with the correct details on it, they failed to add the antihistamines that I asked for - the receptionist asked the vet about this and he said that he thought I didn’t want them as they were £13 when he clearly gave me a price just over £11 and I clearly advised at the end of the appointment that I would like them also to which he confirmed. As the price difference was not much I advised again that I would like these and the receptionist asked me to sit down and wait whilst this got organised. At this point the level of unprofessionalism, incompetency and complete disregard to the inconvenience caused to me and my dog, my blood started to boil and I advised to just forget about it and to take the payment so that I can leave - I left at 10:17, 1 hour and 47 minutes after my allocated appointment - Not once was I offered an apology, never-mind compensation for the terrible service and inconvenience - the appointment was specifically booked for early morning whilst it was still cool outside to avoid the heat when walking to and from the appointment as I do not own a vehicle. I hope this detailed review will allow for others to make an informed decision when considering registering their beloved pet with this practice.

Been using The Vet @ Highams Park for our 4 cats, pretty much since it opened. I’ve always found them to be very communicative, professional and compassionate. They’re victims of their own success really, as waiting times can be long on the phone, but other than that- please keep up the good work.

VILE.
Was on hold for 30mins from 6:45-7.15pm last night as my cat had been attacked by a dog and was injured and in pain. The receptionist EVENTUALLY picked up and told me they can't help as they're too close to closing time! 45mins until closing time! Vile customer service and gutted by the lack of care for animals.
Not the first time they have had no care for my pets either. I wouldn't ever go back there, currently on hold to transfer all of my pets details to Banstead village vets where they actually care and want to help animals.
Good luck trying to get through
Good luck trying to get through, waiting 30mins for someone to pick up. No response on the pet App, no help with insurance claim and no updates with follow up.

I've got a french bulldog took her to the vets for a growth forming on her eye lid and before he offered any other treatments are available he proceeded to say that she needs a operation to cut it out and that it will cost around six to eight hundred pounds for the op only we got her antibiotics and it cleared up inside a week so we could have gave her unnecessary op just because the young vet said so

Unwelcoming Attitude.
I took my dog along this morning 9am Sunday 14/05/23 to Warrington, upon entering I was met with a question from the receptionist in a rather stern manner as to why I am here! I replied politely my normal vet was closed and your practice advertises a "Walk In" facility upon your website. This is something the receptionist was not aware of and stated the error would be updated, however the manner in which I was addressed made me feel as though I was intruding. I was then asked why I had not contacted the emergency vet from my existing practice, I explained it was not exactly an emergency but as your practice offered a walk in facility that's why I am here. When I asked if an appointment could be found as I had travelled from Widnes it was stated to me that the first appointment was later that morning which would have meant another journey back and forth, I declined. Sorry to say the customer experience and manner in which it was delivered to me was not a welcoming one and I have no intentions of visiting your practice again. I don't make a habit of looking for issues, I just expect a little civility as a paying customer looking for help.

Unusual Business Model

2. Use your inept understanding of employment legislation as excuse to overcharge customer
3. Treat customer with contempt
4. Five days later call with apology
5. Loose customer indefinitely
