Update to my review:

Two-critical questions remain unanswered.
1. Why was my son kept on the provider's register for weeks after the childcare arrangements had ended and after a safeguarding complaint had been filled? 2. Why was Early Years Funding claimed for weeks after arrangements had formally ended.

While I appreciate that an unannounced visit took place, the investigation response still did not address the detailed examples I provided. A single one-hour visit cannot realistically validate or invalidate weeks of documented concerns.

I hope Tiney will reflect on this feedback and consider strengthening both their safeguarding and transparency for parents. However, based on my experience, tiney is not an organisation I trust, and I would never place my child again with any of their providers.

My child attended a Tiney-registered setting, and we experienced a series of serious concerns relating to care, hygiene, communication, and emotional wellbeing. When I raised these concerns formally with Tiney, the investigation was extremely superficial. Despite detailed evidence and a very long list of issues, their “assessment” consisted of a single visit and a short conversation with the childminder - after which everything was declared “unsubstantiated”.

As a parent, this leaves me with absolutely no confidence that safeguarding issues are being taken seriously or investigated with the depth they require. It gave the strong impression that the priority was protecting the provider rather than protecting children.

Tiney refunded the fees I had paid, which quietly acknowledged the seriousness of the situation, but their written conclusion completely downplayed the concerns. The inconsistency between these two actions is deeply troubling.

Another major issue is the lack of proper oversight of provider records. Even after childcare arrangements ended, my child continued to be marked as “absent” on the childminder’s register. This raises obvious questions about record-keeping and potential misuse of funded hours.

In my experience, Tiney’s complaints process is not fit for purpose. It is bureaucratic, dismissive, and leaves parents with no meaningful support when concerns involve a provider registered under agency. Parents considering Tiney should be aware that if they ever need real safeguarding support or a thorough investigation, they may not receive it.

I would urge all parents to do extremely careful due diligence before trusting their childcare arrangements to Tiney. I expected a professional, child-focused agency; what I experienced felt more like a provider-protection service that a safeguarding body.

Do not trust! Tiney put my child in danger.

If I could give Tiney minus stars I would. The most awful experience, I will never ever use a Tiney childminder or any other childminder for matter.

They put my child on danger, by not ensuring the childminder was properly checked. There was a non DBS checked male that had access to the children, and there were other incidents that they failed to disclose.

Our childminder was suddenly suspended because our 'children were at risk and had to be collected immediately. They offered help with finding alternatives childcare, but when I asked for help, they ignored the request! And left us indefinitely with no childcare.

They took 2 months to undergo an investigation before filing a report.

This is a makeshift organisation that doesn't control the quality of care provided. Our child is now at a professional nursery and the difference in care and development is immeasurable.

Stay away from Tiney and Tiney childminders. Unfortunately, the childminder [Petite Nursery] has since got to set.themselves up independently, they should be struck off.

My grandchild's child minder parveen arif is An absolute blessing! My grandson settled in so well and was comfortable it made me feel at ease especially when he had a smile on his little face when I said “say bye ms parveen and will see you again tomorrow “

My son feels at home. At first i was so worried that he might not find it fun being away from me but my thinking was wrong. He so much love Nabeela Sodiq’s Nursery. Miss keep up with the good work. Thanks for caring for our worlds. 🙏❤️

I couldn’t recommend my childminder Kids Island tiney home enough! My child absolutely loves spending time there. The ladies are incredibly caring, creative and always come up with new, engaging activities every day. The children are wonderfully looked after and get to experience so many fun and educational things in such a warm, friendly environment.

Everything is always spotless and perfectly adapted to the children’s needs. Thanks to them, it’s much easier for me to handle the moments of separation, knowing that my child is safe, happy and truly enjoying their time.

I also really appreciate the Tiney app- it keeps me updated with everything that’s happening throughout the day, so I always have all the information I need and feel connected to my child’s day.

I’m so grateful for the amazing care they provide- choosing this childminder was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my child.

Childminder is very warm and welcoming. My child was happy and did arts and crafts. There were also a lot of toys to play with. Highly recommend.

My son started to leona’s tiney child minder last week She is amazing lady she doing well because my son settled there he playing well. He started new learning things so I am very happy now I don’t worry about my son now thank you so much

My son’s childminder Chelsi F is an absolute godsend! I had my doubts when I first applied but she set my mind at ease pretty quickly. Very professional, very friendly and amazing with the kids. Chelsi keeps me posted on the Tiney app as well as in person. Trips out, outdoor and indoor play. My child loves her and always comes home tired 😂. Would definitely recommend anyone to go with Chelsi.

My daughter goes to Tiney. She’s really enjoying it. The staff are all friendly and helpful . I couldn’t have picked a better child minder for my daughter .

Not happy with her service at all. My child has been sick twice straight after she has returned from her care. My daughter is never dressed and ready to go when I went to pick her up, her bad was never packed properly, I had to dress her on the door step and on the stairs which was very inconvenient and awkward. She knew what time I’m going to pick my daughter up but opted not to get her ready. She is always dirty and I’m not talking about her clothes due to messy eating, it’s her socks when she was crawling around the place. Also, we tried to reason with her regarding my daughter’s sleeping schedule as she has a nap between 9.00-10.00 but she wasn’t willing to accommodate that and tried to say that by law they have to take the kids out regardless and that’s the time when they are going out. We asked if one of the carer can stay with the small kids similar age to my daughter but she came with an excuse saying that anyone else other than her can only watch them for 2 hours without her being there…well my daughter doesn’t sleep longer than that anyway especially that she didn’t have proper bedding for her, not even a travel cot…I think I made my point, no need to carry on! Not a good experience at all!

I couldn’t praise Maria enough. She is everything I could have hoped for in a childminder and so much more.
She is incredibly passionate, organised, caring, attentive and creative. The care she has shown our son has been absolutely exceptional. She knows him so well, and it’s clear how much he adores both her and her lovely daughter.
Our son has been with Maria for over 1.5 years and he has truly flourished in her care. Maria encourages self confidence in such a natural and empowering way, always seeing and supporting each child as an individual. She strikes the perfect balance between structure and creativity — creating an environment that feels both predictable and inspiring. The children know what to expect, which gives them security, but they are also constantly encouraged to explore, imagine and express themselves.
Her knowledge of child development is excellent, and she follows the Early Years Curriculum with intention and warmth. There are always varied indoor and outdoor activities, creative play and hands on learning opportunities. She’s also a wonderful source of advice, always happy to share her insights.
Equally important is the nurturing culture she builds. All children are taught to respect one another, demonstrate kindness and to care for their environment. It’s a place where children feel safe, valued and loved.
Our son was quite shy around most people, but with Maria he has always been his confident, happy self, which has brought us so much reassurance and joy.
Maria puts such care into everything she does, from planning engaging activities to providing healthy, home cooked meals and snacks every day. She sets a truly high standard and we feel incredibly lucky to have had her be such a big part of our son’s early years.
I honestly feel like she is a best kept secret. We could not recommend her highly enough. Thank you Maria!
