Better doing it ourselves

We cancelled our account after many years of service. Just now, we are finally almost weed free and the damage from chinch bugs during the summer of 2023 is nearly restored.....all done by ourselves. We had so much crabgrass and spurge which got worse as time goes on. We had totally resodded in 2022 and it seems the more they came, the worse the weeds got. We would call, they would come back out and re-treat but it never did any good except for killing just a few Spurges (and never the crabgrass). The final straw was returning from a lengthy 2023 summer vacation to find a huge spot in the front yard, and a huge spot in the back yard of dead grass from chinch bugs. We called them out and their technician told us that the damage was from grubs and that "our service did not include treatment for grubs" . WHAT? They were hired to take care of the lawn, period. Never did they tell us that we had grubs and needed treatment (we had two other professionals tell us it was chinch bugs and we confirmed it with internet info and pictures). Never once did a technician pull the grass up and look under it which I understand is necessary to determine the problem. It left me wondering if they were just spraying water when they treated because it looks 1000% better since we started doing it ourselves.

Honestly can’t think of a worse…

Honestly can’t think of a worse customer experience. The people in back office seem knowledgeable and provide good service. The actual technicians don’t do what the company says they do. On two occasions they said they came out when they actually didn’t (checked security cameras). They also applied a one-time free sulfur treatment, but they did it three times and charged me for the third time. The sales rep I spoke with didn’t mention Trugreen doesn’t apply grass seed in my region either, which was the service I asked her about directly. Her manager said that sometimes the sales reps “overpromise”? When I finally requested my money back, they were only willing to give back $250 of the $750 I paid. So I basically paid $500 for two weed treatments and an aeration. My lawn has never looked worse, which is disappointing because I truly thought I was making the smart decision by turning it over to professionals. Very disappointed and feel tricked.

I “Was” A New Customer…I Finally FIRED Them.

I “Was” A New Customer, Living In Farmers Branch Texas 75244.

Endless Wasted Time… And Jake-Legged Services Performed.

Local Techs NEVER Gave A Full Service.

1) First Service Consisted Of Tech Showing Up At The End Of The Day. He Had Maybe An 8th Of A Last Bag Of Granular Fertilizer In His Truck And A Spreader. He Used That Little Bit Left… Dropped Some Here, Zigg-Zagged Here & There… Never Going To My Back Yard.

I Was Standing There Observing Each Blunder (Visit), They Made/Did.

I Was Told Thank You And That He Was Done.

2) I Called To Cancel… I Was Told, “That’s Not TruGreen’s Standards… And To Please Give Them A Chance To Make It Right.”.

3) They Rescheduled The Following Monday. When The Tech Arrived, I Asked If He Had The Aerating Machine?
He Said, “No, That’s Another Guy… Has You Yard Not Been Aerated?”.
I Told Him No.

He Informed Me That He Couldn’t Perform The Job With No Aeration Having Been Done Yet.. (They Attempted To Bill Me Again, Even For The Redo.)

4) Then They Scheduled The Aeration For 3 Days Later…About/Around April 21st. (Approximate Date.)

5) Just “Today”, Over A Month And Half Later…
They Finally Come Out For The “Redo”.
Mind You, This Is My Initial Appointment.

AGAIN, The Tech Sprays What He Called “Iron” Here & There… NEVER Hitting The Backyard. Much-less, Getting Anywhere Near A Complete Coverage Spray.
Then He Proceeds To Tell Me, “That’s All He Can Do For The Day… And That I Need To Call Myself To Schedule The Fertilizer Spreading. (Even When It’s Still The Initial Treatment.)”.

** This Is Only The Yard Care…And Doesn’t Include The Many Other Half-Ass Attempts With The Pest, Shrub And Tree… And Mosquito Care Offerings.

** Please Know…
That Each Service Is An Entirely Different Appointment/Tech Showing Up, To Perform Absolutely NOTHING…!!
Each Time, Each Tech, Told Me They Were Done… Even With Me Standing There Watching Them Half-Ass Each Premium Priced, Individual Service.

The Local TruGreen Management Staff Was Called Over 5 Times With VM’s Being Left Each Time…And Each Of My Contact Efforts, Resulted In… Un-Returned Calls.

And The TruGreen Icing….

They Actually Think They Are Owed For These Services!! Lol

** DONT FORGET… Not Once, Did They Ever Treat My Backyard… Nor, Did They Run The Aerator In The Back Yard!

But They Still Expect To Get Paid $225 For The Aeration Service, Even When They Didn't Bother To Do The Backyard’s Needed Servicing…
Worse Still, The Aeration Was Wasted By Them Taking A Month & A Half, To Perform My “Redo” & “INITIAL” Lawn Care Service.

100% FACTUAL & Documented On Video Surveillance.

** PLEASE: Just Hire Your Neighborhood Boy/Girl, To Do Your Yard…And Save Yourself A Lot Of Wasted Time & From Being Lied To, From Their Techs And Lazy Management Staff.

I used Trugreen for about a year

I used Trugreen for about a year. The treatments helped somewhat but when I asked why certain spots in my lawn had no grass, they had no insights whatsoever. That’s when I realized that the people they send to do the treatments don’t really have special knowledge or expertise. So, I decided to cancel and find a local lawn company that I could get some real help from. I canceled in July 2022 and in January 2023 I received a text that my lawn treatment was coming up. I called immediately to say my service has been cancelled for months, why are you showing up. My main concern was being charged. The rep assured me that she saw the documentation of the cancellation and she would make sure that everything was taken care of. Sure enough, the next day they came and did the treatment and sure enough they charged my account. Now I’m being told I have to wait 5-7 days on a refund. This business is looking very fishy and unreliable at this point. Use at your own risk.

I'm not able to give a zero star

We paid in full for a year's worth of lawn fertilization and tree/shrub service in April. They came on 4/16/22 to do both services but only the tree/shrub was completed. My backyard was Not done because I have dogs and I did Not get any notification like promised that they were even coming.I reschedule to have my backyard done and was told tech would arrive between 8:00 am & 12:00, well he never showed. I get a text around 6pm saying they got behind and for me to call & reschedule, but I got a email saying the work was complete, so I reviewed my security camaras and no one came just as I had thought.I have called repeatedly and the managers WILL NOT get on the phone. Again today the same thing happens. This company is totally incompetent when it comes to communication and work ethics.

Please don't use TRUGREEN services

Please don't use TRUGREEN services! After giving them my credit card information, I could never reach a customer service rep to schedule an appointment. I even attempted to contact a manager, and was unsuccessful. While out grocery shopping, I received a message stating that TRUGREEN was at my home. I went home and asked them to leave and discontinue my services because I never received a phone call to set up the appointment. The technician called the office to speak to a manager while I at my home. No one answered the office phone after multiple attempts. Finally a manager called back and I informed him of the horrible customer service and my experience. I told him that I was a new customer and first impression is a lasting impression. The manager was was not helpful and unapologetic. I told him to cancel my services immediately. The worse experience ever with a lawn company!!
