NO STARS!!!!! – do not use this company.

I was quoted £187.50 for my non-working iPhone 14 128GB on EE. I sent the phone to them and, after several days, they told me it had been graded as “Category E” and reduced their offer to just £41.

What makes this even more concerning is that their own website showed the following values for the same phone:

Brand new – £150
Good – £180
Average – £146.50
Faulty – £187.50

So somehow, according to their advertised prices, a faulty phone was worth £187.50, yet once they actually had my phone in their possession, the offer dropped to £41.

I challenged this. Their own terms also state that once they receive your device, you enter into a contract with them. In my view, it is completely unacceptable to advertise and quote one value to encourage someone to send in their phone, then drastically reduce that value once the phone has been received.

I have taken consumer advice regarding the matter and have now reported the company to Trading Standards.

Having subsequently looked at other reviews, I can see that I am far from the only customer reporting similar experiences.

My advice: do not waste your time. I certainly would not use this company again. Extremely poor service and a very disappointing experience.

Quick and efficient

Sent my phone off in the provided packaging and marked it online as poor condition owing to a few cosmetic scratches on front and battery life being less desirable. Other than that, pristine condition. Quoted over £120 online. Upon inspection offered me less than £25. Recategorised as Category E. Issue is the categories don’t line up with what you can select when getting a quote and they try to lowball everyone as the criteria states that it must come in original box with original accessories (which is never going to happen for older phones). As a result the offer quoted will never be received unless you have the original packaging, that aside, their own returns box isn’t big enough to house a device in its original box! Pretty poor trying to deceive and lowball people with high quotes only to offer less than 20% of the original quote owing to a missing box. Would advise using a bigger name brand at a lower price to more than likely receive the amount quoted. Unless you have a box.

Updated review - improved to 3 stars. Managed to agree an improved price, but still far below the original website offer. They did explain the issues they found with the device, which was great, but would have been helpful if they had did this on the original recategorisation.

Originally offered more than what I thought my phone was worth, so sent it off to Uberlink. I then recieved a derisory offer that was 80% less than my initial offer, which I chose to refuse.
A couple of days later, i received another offer which saw a slight increase (reasoning provided was that the device had now been tested) but I still rejected. I was then sent another email asking me ‘out of curiosity before we return the device, what would you accept?’ I provided a fair value and this was accepted. A slightly unusual experience that I definitely felt at times that Uber link were ‘trying their luck.’ I then had to chase the money to be sent and received a phone call asking me to leave a review, and the employee asking me to leave the review while we were connected on the phone. Odd, but eventually I received the money into my bank and was a fair amount in comparison to other companies.

Everything went fine up until payment. I was told twice payment would be made that day or the next and it still hasn’t happened. Trying to get a response afterwards has been difficult. Really poor communication.

Deceptive and misleading prices. When you use compare and recycle, or the uber website, you receive a quote but when you send your device, as accurately described, you receive 1/3 rd.

Super easy to use to sell any old devices. They can send a courier to you to make selling easier. Would recommend to anyone looking to sell or buy devices.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM DODGY ABD DISHONEST! Don’t trust them, be wise and stay away. Took offer £95 then tried to sell £15. Gave two false tracking details when requesting the phone back. Attended the property to no one answering so phone could not be returned. Will pay out once you are forced to do a review, as review that’s not true. They do not pay out the prices they ever agree too, read the true reviews. The reviews we say the same fast and accurate are not real people, happy to upload the info. They are a false practice, use fake names and not legit. If you want the phone sold for well under the price it deserves then go for them, if however you want to sell your phone for the correct valuation do not use. I can not emphasise this enough. Phone is yet to be received and if anything found from the original video of it before sent is not accurate a civil court charge will be logged. STAY AWAY FROM DODGY COMPANY!
