Worst customer experience

My recent interactions with Uniti is the worst customer service I have experienced in Australia. I used their website to set up a new service. It has taken over a month to establish. Consultants run off the same script, continually ask you to do the same thing ie reset modems or Opticom box, send photos of the box over and over. Then don’t read emails when I inform them of what is happening. So finally they organise for an Opticom technician to come out between the hours of 8am-12pm and they don’t show up after I took time off work. No call or notification. So I call the call centre for the 20th time to find out what is happening and they have no idea. So turns out Uniti can’t call Opticom for information or updates on technicians when they are part of the same parent company. When I asked if I should cancel the application as it seems they can’t provide the service they threaten me with a $150 disconnection fee (never been connected in the first place). 3 days later I received a generic email saying they need to organise another appointment. Not impressed and can’t wait for AI to replace this incompetence.

Be aware of the contract before you sign!

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent handling of my account.

I requested to transfer my service to another provider, as I was on a no lock-in contract. However, I was charged an extra month’s bill after my service had already been transferred. When I called to query this, I was told that I should have given notice to cancel the service, and that this was stated in the contract I signed.

I find this very misleading and unfair. I was not under a 12-month or any fixed-term contract, and in my experience, no other provider has ever charged me an extra month simply for transferring to another service. This feels deceptive and has left me extremely dissatisfied with your service.

I called and requested that you review this matter, cancel the unfair extra charge, and provide clarification on why this occurred despite being on a no lock-in contract. They said it is on the contract you signed. Very cunning!!!!

Worst Internet Service in my Life

Using this company as an Opticom service provider in Coomera QLD and they are a disgrace, Constant dropouts, Bad connectivity and their poor staff who are very nice take forever to carry out simple routine service /support requests.

After raising my concerns via an email to the Support team they advised my my concerns were a priority and they would resolve in 15 DAYS??? Really a priority.

In 2017 the service was great

In 2017 the service was great, in 2024 the service was unusable.

I experienced consistent speed issues and the service would drop out for days at a time. While each time I contacted the support team they where polite and quick to respond the underlying problem remained unsolved.

It was disappointing that after prolonged service issues I still had to pay for a month after requesting cancellation.

Happy with the internet and customer service

Not sure about the bad reviews but I'm happy with my internet. Customer service has been improving as well and are really proactive in their communications for outages and billing updates.

Internet portal could be improved though as its a bit hard to change direct debit details.

Extremely disappointed - pathetic service

I am utterly disappointed with the service I’ve received from this company. As a loyal customer for over 5 years, I expected better treatment, but unfortunately, this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had. The customer service is absolutely horrible—rude staff with no empathy or understanding. It’s clear that they are not customer-centric and do not appreciate their loyal customers. The overall service is non-customer friendly, and the lack of professionalism and respect is astounding. I would never recommend this company to anyone. It’s been a nightmare dealing with them, and I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Worst company ever to deal with.

Very bad

Very bad. Money hungry, unreliable and they freeze your services should you be one day late for payment. Very hard to cancel services without 30 day notice they will hound you for payment worse than a gym membership to fitness first

Run far far away

Avoid at all costs.
I cancelled our plan 8/3/23!
They where still taking payments.
Finally as 9/9/24 they have arranged to credit some money.
Do not waste your time.

Don't waste your money or time!

After 6 years with this supposed Adelaide based company who I supported when they first started were great to deal with. Now they have made their millions, they don't care about the customers. Continued outages every month over the past year with more than 10 days in March and April alone.
Call centre now in the Phillipines and all they do is follow a script. Worse customer service ever by an ISP. Numerous phone calls and emails fall on deaf ears.

Avoid this company like the plague

Avoid this company like the plague. Unless you are happy to wait 3 months for them to repair your internet. Forget about customer service it doesn't exist. The new greedy owner has sacked a lot of staff in orrder to line his pockets. Everyone is based in Manilla now. Formerly e-wire, the Fuzenet, now pathetic Uniti.

We have not had any internet for over 2 weeks now. We have been with them and former companies for 20 years. Every time you ring them, they tell you Opticom will contact you within 24-48 hours. Not 1 phone call, not even a courtesy call to tell you how many weeks you have to wait before someone will look at it. They keep saying they are busy and they can't give a future repair date as they are booked out weeks in advance.

I feel for the poor buggers in the Philipines copping abuse all day whilst the owner is probably living it up on his super yacht.

Greed = customers going elsewhere. Worst company ever. Our local area Facebook group is full of complaints about this useless mob.

Slow and unreliable

Slow and unreliable. Very poor customer service. Forced to use direct debt, even when money is in account they say that it is not and change a dishonour fee of $10.
No choice but to keep them because the connection is embedded. After nearly 4 years I’m really unhappy with this service. Many other tenants in my building are also upset about this.

The customer executive provided inaccurate information

Uniti initially committed to providing me with a $20 discount as long as I remained a customer of their internet service. However, they have recently informed me that this discount is applicable only for the first 6 months. Despite providing them with the old case number for reference, they have not acknowledged my concerns. It seems they misrepresented information to attract customers during the sign-up process. Not only have they failed to honor their promise, but I have also noticed slow internet speeds, as echoed in other reviews. Choosing Uniti was a mistake, and I regret my decision.

Poor internet and service

Poor internet, slow speeds, constant drop outs and you pay a premium. After you close the account, these guys continue to charge you, and slap you with a $10 per month dishonour fee if you don't pay.

In the process of reaching out the telecommunications ombudsman and also, working with our strata to propose wireless alternatives to their nested service for our building.

Worst internet company to deal with!

I can't believe a company like this is on the market; it's almost like a scam. The internet was down for over a month, I called them five times, each time waiting 60 minutes. They gave me different excuses each time, promising to fix it. A month later, I received an email saying the problem could not be fixed, and they have canceled my service. It gets worse – they continued to send me bills and take money from my account through direct debit. It's the worst company ever. Do not go with them!

A communications company with zero communication, can not speak to anyone on the phone
do not answer emails

Don't Use Every
Tried to disconnect my service. I have spent days (yes days) on the phone and sending emails. It doesn't matter how many times you call, they will say they will fix it but then continue to invoice you monthly and demand payment.
If you are already using them, make sure you put things in writing (I am so glad I did) and if you are looking at them as your new provider DON'T EVER!

Exceedingly terrible internet and the castanet service is virtually non-existent. I have been without internet for a day calling them three times, each time almost an hour waiting in the queue. And when they answer, no one can resolve the connection issue. DO NOT USE THIS INTERNET PROVIDER!!! It’s FRAUDULENT.
