No hassle, great guide, easy-going, relaxing and active at the same time, “no-drama-lama” fellow travelers/new friends :)

Our tour (from 27 April to 3rd May), led by Paddy Fahy, was outstanding from start to finish! Paddy was a great communicator, very knowledgeable about Irish history, flora and fauna, topography - almost everything! He recounted family stories that brought the history of the country to life. He listened to his group and was very flexible in making a few detours to accommodate the interests of our group.
Most of the hotels in which we stayed were very comfortable and some were quite quaint. The food was very good across the board and the meals at the Gougane Barra Hotel (ESPECIALLY THE DINNER!) were world class. Helped with wonderful weather, all of the sites, the hikes and visits to the historical sites were very interesting and meaningful. The several hikes and the two activities (horseback riding and biking) WERE CHALLENGING BUT ULTIMATELY VERY SATISFYING for a couple of 68 year-olds!

We just got back from Vagabond Driftwood Discover Ireland tour. Our driver/ tour guide was a woman named Sara(h). This was our first trip abroad and after hearing horror stories about driving in Ireland we decided to do a tour instead. Not just a tour but a small group tour. Our group was 15 people plus Sara(h). The tour was fantastic, we had a great time. Learned about Ireland and Northern Ireland, the history of the fascinating country. Sara(h) was driver/ tour guide/ time keeper/ mother hen to a diverse group. She took time to become friends with everyone on the tour. With her leadership she made it possible for all 15 people to get along and become friends over the course of the trip. She is both a great representative of Vagabond tours but also a great representative of the Irish people and culture.
The 11 day Discovery tour started in Dublin and toured counterclockwise around the whole island and back to Dublin. Every hotel Vagabond booked was unique, some in the cities and some in a more private setting. They were all hotels we would not have booked on our own. Every day seemed to have several adventures planned. From up in Northern Ireland, the Giants Causeway and Dunluce Castle to the very south of the Republic of Ireland with the Blarney Castle and a boat trip to the Garnish Islands. Sara(h) led us into one adventure after another.
We would highly recommend Vagabond small group tours to anyone who wants to explore Ireland. And if you are lucky enough to get Sara(h) as your guide, you will definitely have a blast.

This was an amazing adventure. Brian was extremely helpful. He is so knowledgable and very accommodating. He made sure we had the best tour ever. I saw so many places and experienced so much I can’t wait to share with my friends. Brian has set the bar so high I don’t know if anyone will be able to make another tour as enjoyable and informative as he did. Take the tour!!!!!!

My husband and I enjoyed the 6 day Southern tour last October. We liked being part of a smaller tour group. Our guide was knowledgeable and charming. We were very pleased with the accommodations, meals, and experiences. We certainly recommend touring with this company.

Our tour guide LISA was amazing. Great sense of humor and a wonderful blend of history and fun!! I would 100% recommend touring with Vagabond it was Grand :)

My first trip to Ireland will be a cherished memory for the rest of my life because of my Vagabond experience. I was on the eight day wild Rover with Vaga-guide Jasper. Our guides knowledge of the country was inspiring as our tour was unique and unlike anything I’ve ever been on before. We had our eight day itinerary, but it honestly felt like Jasper made it such a personalized experience for our small group of 14 people. He always checked in on us! I was on the tour with my sister, but the other people that were on the tour were from three other family groups. By the end of it, we felt like family. I love The off the beaten path hikes, E-bike ride, kayaking in Dingle Bay, Skellig Islands boat tour, sheepdog demo, historical landmarks (I loved Aughnanure Castle), the pubs (music and a pint of Guinness almost daily). Our hotel (and castle) accommodations were amazing with breakfasts every morning. I’m writing this review almost 6 months later and I think about this trip everyday due to Vagabond being an amazing tour company!!

Everything was wonderful, in fact, I would go back again soon! I loved most the variety of castles, ruins, manor houses, stone circles, waterfalls etc etc etc. Our guide/driver even took us to places nearby that weren’t even on the tour agenda.

Great tour. I would have enjoyed some more time for exploring shops and towns instead of so many castles. Not much time allotted for exploring towns. Very beautiful views. Loved our tour, fellow bus mates and guide.

The tour guides and the small group size really make the experience special. The visit to the working sheep farm and Molly Galivans were very memorable. I enjoyed the village accommodations and time to mix with the locals. I have a much better understanding of the Irish people and their history.

Hotels were great, van was very comfy, but mostly, we had an amazing group and the best ever tour guide (Brendan)!

This is a very late response to a request to rate my trip in September 2024! It was my 1st trip to Ireland and 1st with Vagabond for a GREAT experience! I enjoyed both the small van with "just the right number of passengers" and the exceptional guide who was both knowledgeable and fun! When I am ready to travel again I will for sure look into all the other trips Vagabond offers!

Tour staff from the initial query, through booking, and especially our tour guide were all efficient, friendly, attentive to client individual needs while remaining flexible and professional throughout. The itinerary included a wealth of variety for accommodations as well as a range of individual options allowing us to personalize activities at some select destinations.

The organization of the whole experience was spot on.

Best time ever!

Our Vagabond guide Jason was fantastic! He has a wonderful sense of humor and speaks very well to his audience. I was truly impressed with his knowledge of all the locations that we visited. Prior to each location he would give use a little background on what to expect. Once at the location he would give us a more in-depth overview of the location and exactly what to expect. Before the end of each day Jason made sure we were given a quick overview of what to expect the next day. By the second or third day he had all on the trip feeling like a family!

We had two wonderful guides Brian F and Angela. They provided so much insight into the country, giving us some history as well as general information on the local area. They answered all our questions and were always so patient and helpful. On a small tour a great guide is so important

Oh my did we enjoy our tour. We had the best tour guide ever. (Lisa) We just had the best all around. I cannot say enough about this 11 day driftwood tour with vagabond. When I go back, which I will, we will take another one with vagabond again. If you are on the fence, then get off of it and jump on the bus. You will have the time of your life.
