The playing mat is a strong vinyl with a non slip backing that rolls up nicely and fits in the beautiful green carrying case. I love the clock and the game notebook. I know it will last many years of use.

LOVE these pieces. The weight feel is amazing.

This is actually my second purchase of this beautiful set. I love everything about it. It is great to be able leave the pieces in a set up in position, close the set and reopen to continue the same position/game later. The pieces are really well carved, and the entire board set box is really stunning. I also really like the green cloth on either side when the set is open, it looks really good and is functional. The magnets keeping the set closed are really strong and are also very good on the pieces themselves.

The chess board arrived well packed and well done!!! I could not have packed it any better!!! The squares are bright and well finished!!! I gave Violet Crown the full 5 stars!!!!

Exceeded my expectations! This is a handsome set, everything you need is all right there in the bag. The pieces are weighted perfectly and are to scale with the large board. I would say this is well worth it most definitely, I absolutely enjoy mine!
